The Renegades who Max Convoy sent out to investigate New Iacon, were greeted by Vector Primus and Vice 3. Treat well as guests of honor, Vector invited them to Mirage's function the next day. Hoist insisted on finding the missing renegades as-well as any information the Emirate had on. Hoist was told he'd have to wait until much later and after the Mirage's function. The renegades were out up in a guest room in the Decagon for the night, it was only Venator who decided on venturing out and doing some investigating on his own, while Sharpshot attempted to reach his undercover contact, the Autobot Switch. Who, just as he was talking to Sharpshot, was knocked out and taken captive. Venator managed to locate a local club and contact Vice 3, who then went on to meet and talk with Venator. The two tried to get information out of the other but failed in the end. As this was happening, unknown to Vice 3, someone who looked exactly like him, recorded the conversation and later entered the Decagon (Autobot headquarters) to deliver the recording to Emirate Vector Primus, who had no idea that Vice 3 was meeting with a Renegade. While Venator was separated room his team, Hoist, Sharpshot and Skystreaker fell under attacked from a would be assassin. They when after the assassin through out New Iacon. Vector Primus heard of the chase and quickly formed a squad to follow, but allowed the renegade to catch the escaping criminal. It was through the assistance of Shadow Stalker that the Renegades caught the assassin, only to watch her get shot form an un-revealed sniper. Venator, though gaining nothing from Vice 3, learned enough to realize that he had to return back to the Renegade base and report to Max Convoy the current state that New Iacon was under. At the same time, L7 was sent in to New Iacon to contact the Emirate and to inform him of Max's visit. As this transpired, the Destructicon sent out to kill Max Convoy, had learned about the renegade base from the Maccadam's oil house and used the underground tunnels to sneak up undetected. Soon the base was turned into a war zone.
In space, the Renegade team of Jinx, Stormcloud, Aqualec and Merlin managed to pass through the orbital defenses of Cybertron, but not without picking up a few Vice Units who stopped there ship and boarded it. They ended up blowing up the Vice cruiser and taking a few of the vice units with them for the rest of the journey. They soon arrived on the moon, there they began to search for the Destructicon base where Morpher was being held. On the surface they ran into the most unsuspecting thing they ever thought they meet; old worker drones, who used to work for the Destructicon empire until they were cut off like out casts due to their age. As they meet, the Renegades were then spotted by the defense chief Warlock, who went to intercept them. Within the moon, Morpher was kept in a cell, low on energy so his ghost powers couldn't help him escape. There he met a small minicon, who acted as a cell keeper. Her name was Bushida. She then learned who Morpher was, the brave Renegade who had freed lead a rescue mission to save a large group of Minicons who were held captive aboard the Destructicon ship the Nemesis. She swore to help him somehow. Soon after, she met Morpher's minibot partner Q, who had avoided getting caught and was working on a way to save Morpher as-well.
Mean while, back in Iacon, Lust had finally tracked down Viracon to Rainstorm's old lab. Before she could force him to return to Arvadatron, Viracon convinced her to watch as he brought he one time love of her life, back from the dead; Scarrunner. There reunion was only over shadowed when Viracon revealed his true identity; Rainstorm. The genocidal maniac had used Viracon as a shell, like a Pretender, to hide in and repair his body until he decided to return. As well, another trick was reveal. The mech known as 44, or Traitor, made himself known to Scarrunner and Lust. 44 had the ability to change his appearance to look like any transformer he desired to be. He was the one who impersonated Vice 3 at Autobot headquarters. L7 arrived in New Iacon to learn of the assassination attempt and to be filled in on the possible where about's of the missing Renegades, Snap, After-shock, Enjin and Maverick. The Emirate suggested that since his forces were on the case, that the Renegades take this time out to improve the relations between the Renegades and the Autobots. The Renegades agreed, own because they felt forced in to it and as well Shadow Stalker was still uncover, meaning he could look in to things behind the scene. The Renegades were then ushered to Mirage's social function, where they again met Mirage. Unknown to them, several miles under neither, the missing Renegades were kept in a deep underground base. There it was finally revealed to them that Death's Head was the one who imprisoned them and had step up the train attack. He was also responsible for the kidnapping of Switch. He kept the Renegades there and tortured them for information, with the help of Ba~al. A new Destructicon sent to help Death's Head while he worked for the destructicons. Death's Head then decided to leave the Renegades in the hands of Ba~al as he went to attend to over business, and to meet a third partner.
Back at the Renegade base, Max Convoy, Heavyassault, Venator, Trailbreaker, Blaster and Slag meet the Destructicons in battle. They had to content with some of the strongest Destructicons they had ever met, Lead by Fireblast, Darth Will, Armageddon, Speedfreak, Roadster, Obsidian, Whitestar, attacked the Renegade base and managed to destroy there drone defense, as well as the Slag, the Dinobot who served the Renegades loyally for years. The battle almost seemed lost when Roadster and Speedfreak formed the gestalt Speedster. Max Convoy, despite over whelming odds, defeated the gestalt just barely. As well, Fireblast turned insane and began to attack everyone including his own troops, But the biggest turn over during the battle would have been when Obsidian, damaged and broken, was given a second chance, by his former Vehicon partner Heavyassault, who used to be Tankor. Obsidian swore loyalty to the Renegades.
As Rainstorm brought Scarrunner up to date on the past events over the last few months, he also told him and Lust of his new scheme. He then instructed Lust to bring the Destructicons who had when off to attack the renegade back here. She took off to find the Destructicons and ended up at Maccadam's oil house where the Destructicons had been, only to find a drunk Sunreaper. From there the two went off to find and return with the Destructicons. Back on the second, Destructicon controlled moon, the renegades dodged getting caught by Warlock with the help of the group of worker drones they had found, particularly by a drone named Jobs. When he couldn't find the renegades, Warlock then took it out on the drones, making the Renegades attack and defeat Warlock and his troops. To thank the Renegades, Jobs would lead them into the base to find Morpher. On the first moon, Arvadatron finally decided that it was time to set his bait using Morpher, he and his second in command Dragonflame, took to the second moon. The Destructicons on the second moon were then radioed and ordered to take Morpher to be prepped for a long journey. Morpher was taken from his cell and into a special engineering room. In the underground prison, the Renegade started to fight back during there torturing along with the help of the still disguised Singertron and Gambit. Soon they fought their way out into the underground tunnels, along with Switch. Soon they found away out. An old, vehicle with a drill on the front end was found. They soon discovered that the drill had been used fairly recently, as they were attacked by a strange group of Cybertronians who called themselves The Order. By this time Ba~al had caught up to the renegades, but it was too late to stop them as they all border the drill and began to make their way up to the surface. However in order to escape, the young renegade known as Enjin sacrificed himself holding The Order back, and in the act started a chain reaction of explosions destroying everything in the tunnel. The only one to survive was Ba~al.
Mirage's function when on as planned. The Renegades didn't like being there and wanted to act on finding there lost comrades. But then something caught there attention, a dark shadow on the upper levels, They went to investigate as Vector Primus began his speech about peace on Cybertron and the renegade united under Autobot command. He was even so bold as to mention the Renegades returning the matrix to the Autobots. Then all chaos broke loose as the dark figure revealed himself to be Death's Head. He fired on Vector Primus who was saved by L7. The Renegades then attacked the powerful bounty hunter, as well as many of the Autobots who were at the party, until they found out that the Energon drinks they drank had been poisoned by the bounty hunter, making it hard to fight. Death's Head had brought back up in the form of his femmebot assassins and Bludgeon, the Pretender and swords man of the old Decepticon empire. They managed to hold the Renegades and Autobots back as they continued to try and take Vector Primus out.
Shadow Stalker had been unable to find any information that could have helped the renegades find there friends and decides to go to Mirage's place only to find a battle. Before he joined in, he saw Mirage trying to escape instead of helping. He followed the Autobot into a secret room, where he was almost trapped. He escaped but never found out what happened to Mirage.... The battle came to a turning point when from the floor, smashing through came the missing renegade in the massive drill; followed by a huge explosion. Soon Mirage's place was on fire, the castle began to crashing around and every fled for there lives. The drill was brought under control before anyone else was hurt, fire crews came to battle the blaze followed by rescue bots for the damaged and injured. Out of anger, Hoist found a knocked out Death's Head, and tossed his body in to the massive hole the drill had made. After the chaos was brought under control, Singertron and Gambit were discovered by Vice 3 and arrested.
Back on the moon, the Renegades team there were inside looking for Morpher. There they found Q and Bushida, the two small robots lead the Renegades to where Morpher had been taken to. Arvadatron arrived at the base and was brought to the chamber where Morpher was held. Arvadatron explained to Morpher that he was to be frozen alive in Solid Liquid, a special freezing process for the transport of gases. However it killed any form of life, biological or mechanical, that was trapped inside of its frozen state. Morpher was soon put in, but he was still alive due to his ghost power's ability to alter its bodies molecules and remain in a stable state that kept him alive. But for how long was another matter. Molecules. The Renegades finally found the chamber only to discovered that it was too late. They began to think of a plan to rescue Morpher when their cover was blown by Warlock, who returned from outside and sounded the alarm. The base was put on red alert and the Renegades made a run for it while Morpher was taken away to be ship off.
In New Iacon, Bludgeon had taken off in search of other Destructicons to get back to Arvadatron, since Death's Head had gone missing. He learned that Lust was seen earlier taking off from a location in the slums of the Iacon and decided to check it out. There he found Rainstorm's lab, he and Scarrunner saw the pretender coming, and soon trapped him. Rainstorm looked down on the Decepticon of old, and decided to let him believe he freed himself, when in actuality he wanted nothing to do with the Decepticon he thought to be unfit for his experiment. Bludgeon then headed back to the Death's Head's old base. By the time he reached there, Ba~al had returned, surviving the massive underground explosion. They two then decided that they had to get back to Arvadatron. They took Death's Head's ship and blasted off for the first moon, only to be chased and escape the vice units orbital defenses.
In the after math of the attack on the Renegade base, Max Convoy began to question Obsidian as his troops repaired himself. But the questions had to wait as they received a transmission form L7 in New Iacon about all that went on. Max then informed L7 that he was coming in and bring Heavyassault, Venator and Shadow Stalker, (Who had returned to base sensing his spark brother Heavyassault was in trouble) in to Iacon via space ship. Vector Primus was then informed by Vice 3 about Death's Head's base and the possibilities of more Destructicon cells inside of Cybertron. The Emirate realized that he could no longer keep the situation under control by trying to cover it up, he gave permission to Vice 3 to bring in his special forces; the Omega Sentinels. The Destructicons who confronted the renegades at there base, damaged and hurt, were lead into Rainstorm's lad. There they discovered that Rainstorm and Scarrunner were alive again. But instead of attacking the two seekers, who had back stabbed Arvadatron and the Destructicons before there death's, listened to Rainstorm's offer of power., Angry with Arvadatron, the Destructicons accepted. With the exception of Lust and Scarrunner, Rainstorm granted the Destructicons, energy to increase there strength by ten times. Soon, he released the super powered Destructicons on to New Iacon. Vector Primus had collected the Renegades with him and brought them aboard his personal gun-ship when Destructicon forces were detected attacking inside of Iacon. Vice 3 led his Omega Sentinels out to stop them, only to discover that their immense fire power couldn't stop the Destruticons. And to their further dismay and shock, the Destructicons began to tear the Omega Sentinels apart on there own. Back on the first, Destructicon moon, the Renegades made there way for the hanger bay while being chased by Destructicons forces. Warlock was pressed on getting revenge, even when he had one of his feet crush between the walls of a closing trash unit, he didn't stop. The Renegades then ended up in the hanger bay where Morpher had been taken too, and place in inside a space craft. The Renegades, with the help of Jobs, were able to reunite with their ship the Quicksilver and chase after Destructicons, but it was too late. The ship with Morpher disappeared in to hyper space. The Renegades were able to engage light speed shortly afterwards, as they were being chased by Warlock and Destructicons forces, who also followed. Where they went no one knows...
Max Convoy and the rest of the Renegade finally arrived to join the battle that would soon be one for both sides to remember. Lust and Earthcrusher fought out a merciless fight while Venator and Scarrunner engaged in aerial combat. Vice 3 then decided to face the Destructicons, namely Darth Will, personally in combat. It was to be Vice 3's last fight as Darth Will brought him down. Heavyassault and ShadowStalker joined the fight as the massive, killing machine known as Dark assault. However, the Renegade wrecking bot found himself in having a hard time dealing with Armageddon and Fireblast, who were still charged up with Rainstorm's super energy charge, Seeing his troops in trouble, Max Convoy joined the fight. He allowed the Renegades on the ground to take his ship while he used his power to fight of the Destructicons the best that he could.
Vector Primus had been aboard his gun-ship for the battle, and was taking on serious damage from the fight. But it wasn't until the newly reformatted Dark Star, aka White Star, attacked and managed to cause some serious damage to the Autobot cruiser, that begun to bring it down. Soon, the Destructicons found themselves losing there new found power. The quickly began to retreat back towards Rainstorm's lab, where the green seeker was getting ready to lift off in a war craft. From there, Scarrunner and Darth Will took over its main canon's and opened up on the pursuing Darkassault and the renegade ship the Rebel Storm that Hoist was piloting. Dark assault was shot down and left in stasis lock, while Hoist tried to bring the badly damaged ship, from Scarrunner's attack, under control. He ordered everyone out while in a last attempted to save innocent lives, stayed with the crashing ship and perished. The Destructicons managed to escape. Vector Primus had survived his crash, and watched as more of his vice units and Autobots came in to secure the area. Then he finally saw Max Convoy and approached the Renegade leader, with a squad of vice units for back up, and asked for the Matrix. Max was then assaulted by the vice squad, but battered them all away in a show of strength. Then he approached Vector Primus, and from his chest he took out the Matrix and threw it at the Emirate's feet, exclaiming he didn't need it to win the war. He then took his surviving and dead renegades, back to base on the last exit out of Iacon.
