A bit belated, here's yesterday's 4 for 4, something I though was an interesting thing to ponder.. Should the Decepticons always have a "Decepticon" matrix or should there be just the one, Optimus Primes's? If not, how should the Decepticons be able to create new troops from scratch. If you've got already existing Decepticons it's fine but they always need to bolster their troops. but how How should the Decepticons be able to give live to new troops, should they be able too at all? Discuss.

I actually like the thought of having an Autobot and a Decepticon Matrix... I like to imagine They are parts of a whole, like a fractured Master" Matrix...

In the last few years I have always thought about how TFs should come to life. A lot of it comes from rpging and writing stories.
IMO, the original show and the comic never got it right. Based on other opinions that I read across the net, there were problems with how they came about.
With Optimus Prime being encoded with the Creation Matrix as it was first known as, he was the only Transformer with the power to create new Cybertronain life. Then Shockwave and Megatron stole it and created Decepticons. I guess who ever has the Creation Matrix code can manipulate the code to produce good or bad Transformers.? Why didn't Prime just increase his army then? On earth or on Cybertron? If the Creation Matrix gives new life why can't it restore life? Also since Optimus was the only one who had it, then for 4 million years on Cybertron, no new life was created? And after four millions years of war, your going to run out of troops, and a population.
So what I'm trying to say is no. No Decepticon Matrix. It has too much potential power and I think that if you can create life, creating that new life to be evil or good is just too much power. Reprograming TFs is another thing....
I did like how the Matrix was touched by evil in the comics and basically began a evil power, controlled by Thunderwing. Actually it was a tainted Matrix controlling Thunderwing, if you don't know the story go read it, its great.
I like the Well of Sparks idea where new TF life crawls out from the depths of Cybertron. There 'born' a certain way and their experiences shape them. And there's nothing really stopping any new life from coming out from the WOS as well.

I definitley need to go read the Thundering aspect again, been too long and my memory is foggy. I need to correct something I said. When I said restore life I should of clearified and said repair someone close to death. Like how most of his troops had been wiped out by Shockwave in issue 4 and put of life support.
But the concept of death in the comics was really death. A smashed Transformer body was nessasarily a dead robot. In the comic it took time to repair someone, maybe because they were on earth and lacked what they needed?
But it took no time to create new life. Once you had a new body, the Creation Matrix encoded new life into the body within minutes. I feel its a little too easy in that fashion, however it is a logical and sound process, it just lacks that special something and a flair of drama.
The Well of Sparks was actually a dangerous place. Makes sense if Primus is creating a warrior race to combat a evil god. Also I like the more mysterious aspect of the WOS. I think leaving it a mystery and allowing Transformers and readers alike to assume its by the power of Primus that these new Transformers are created is better and the questions of how robotic life can actually exist don't need to be answered or explained since its "God" who makes it possible.
That way we can have less Tramps trying to shove their theories down the throats of others.

Can't say I've ever liked the idea of the Matrix as an engine of creation in the first place. Can't say I've ever really like the Matrix in the first place. After all it is just the ultimate McGuffin.
