About 9 days ago, my family's world was rocked to the foundation with the news of my mom's dignosis of having tongue cancer. She's doing okay but she did give me orders about her funeral so I think she's coming to terns that she might die from this. I'm holding out hope that she's strong enough to survive it.
So if anyone wondered why I up and vanish at times, its to help my mom out as now I'm the only female in the house that has to contend with everything from washing dishes to the clothes. My older brother has stepped up to help me with the dishes and helping when he's able to.

I understand where you're coming from. My grandmother died January 1st of this year due to ovarian cancer. She fought it for 9 years even when the doctor told her at times she would have a year to live and that 9 years ago. She finally came to terms with it when she no longer had the strength the do the things she used to do.

Thanks everyone.
Mom had a lot of rough days and a lot of good ones. The treatments are done for now. We will be seeing her doctor in another week to see if the treatments did the trick or will she be needing more treatments.

Well, my mom has had a big turn for the worse. She's now currently in the hospital dying. The cancer had spread throughout her entire body and she's currently in a coma in our local hospital. She could die at any day now. My older brother is spending the night with her and we my dad and I will be heading up there to spend the day with her.

You and your mother are in my thoughts, Tama, just as I'm sure you're in the thoughts of everyone here. I hope... Christ, I don't know what I hope. I'm not great at this. I just hope. I hope for you, Beth. I know it's not much, but I'm trying. Stay just as strong and brave as you've been up to this point and you can't go wrong. Take your time, we''l be waiting for you.

Tama, I don't think any words I'm about to say could possibly be of any comfort, but I do know what you're going through from when my mother was dying of cancer. As Neo said, just be rest assured you have everyone's support and thoughts here at TTF for these tough times ahead. It goes without saying we wish you all the best, for you and your entire family. Sadly, my mom passed away on Saturday at 5:35pm surrounded by me, my dad and my older brother. She went painlessly.
I may visit again but I'm not sure as I'm already distancing myself from things that I enjoy doing to where all I want to do is sleep or cry.

Its been about a month since she passed.
The pain is getting easier to handle and I'm starting to get back to the things that I love to do, like writing.

No worries, it will take a lot of time, you'll never truely ever get over it but the pain will lessen over time. You've always got this little online family here supporting you. |
