Filefinder slipped past a particularly burly looking mech as he made his way to the center of the square, bumping his shoulder as he did. The square was today home to an illegal street market that the Iacon authorities couldn't quite shut down; the tall buildings that flanked the edges of the space were populated on all sides by market stalls stacked high with hardware, software, energon snacks and a slew of racy holovids. He smirked as the mech turned to pick a fight, and, with a wave of his hand and a second of concentration, wiped the event from his mind. The mech, somewhat confused, stumbled away into the night. Filefinder had no time to celebrate his success as a burst of static struck his audio receptor, and his brother Blindspot's voice could be heard. "Cut the psy chatter, Filefinder. That can be picked up from a mile off." Filefinder turned to the window at which his brother, cloaked in shadow, could be seen monitoring the situation, his irritating little assistant Prominence, as ever, clinging to his side. He sighed and tapped his temple, activating his comms unit. "Yeah, yeah, bro. What's the worry? You said this was a pretty standard meeting- I've just got to meet the contact, exchange information, and try to convince 'em to take up a perminent post in the RS. Who did you say this one was again?" "No idea- could be anyone. We've only spoken through text-based backchannels. Now knuckle down- the authorities could ride in for a bust on the market, or the Facility could try to intercept you and the contact." "We've taken every precaution." "All the same, I worry about you, brother. Stay safe." Filefinder smiled. "Don't worry about me, Blindspot. Worry about the slagheap who picks a-" He glanced up to the window again. Blindspot and Prominence had dissapeared, probably back to HQ. They couldn't afford to be spotted. "-Fight." Filefinder squared himself and waited for the contact, whoever that might be. He was now completely on his own...

From within the crowd, a sinister pair of optics watched the one known as Filefinder. The owner of those eyes was huge though he did what he could to avoid attracting attention to himself.
He slide through the crowd, in an attempt to get closer to Filefinder. As he did, he reached down to take the safety off his battle pistol. As he did, he bumped into a citizen. The citizen began to protest the larger mechs rudeness, only to have his face seized by the larger mech's hand and crushed, so that his voice could not escape his mouth.
The larger mech then pushed the robot away and continued on to what appeared to be his prey. If he was wrong, it didn't matter to him. It would be just another life that got in his way in what he was paid to do.

Filefinder's trained spy's eye picked up irregular movement from the crowd. Turning and instinctively placing his fingers delicately on his holster, his optics widened in horror at the sight of a huge mech crushing the life out of a civilian. The citizen hit the deck, dead before he even began to fall. The towering assailant turned and continued forwards- and it didn't take a spy to realise that he was headed straight for Filefinder. The thinly built spy gulped. "Oh, frak me." He pulled the light blaster from it's holster and began to move quickly away from the middle of the square, refraining from striking up a psychic link or comming Prominence in the fear that his hunter would be able to pick it up; besides, with Disgrace chasing down a lead off-planet and Darkk in custody after an unfortunate incident with a buzzsaw (which reminded him he'd need to do something about that), there was no point calling in the muscle. With the Radiance Society still in it's infancy, to all intents and purposes right now he was the muscle. Filefinder pushed and shoved through the crowds with a sense of rising panic. They seriously needed better muscle.

As the crowds began to disperse around this newcomer, Filefinder saw no point in keeping up the pretence of hiding from him. Shoving a few people out of the way, he raised his pistol in one hand, levelling it at the dangerous looking bot's chest, steadied his aim, and squeezed the trigger...

As Hammer Crash pushed through the crowd to get to Filefinder, he saw the Autobot getting ready to attack. Hammer Crash though quickly and decided upon that a citizen would make for a good shield.
Pushing the citizen in front of himself, Hammer Crash then darted to his left as fast as he could to avoid getting shot. He would try to make his way behind anyone still standing around before finding some more suitable cover.

Filefinder swore as his shot glanced off a unsuspecting civilian, distracting him just long enough for his opponent to dissapear from view. He ran back through his visual logs and found a decent shot of the larger bot whom he had been trying to hit, and began to run his face through the Radiance Society archives- knowledge, after all, was power, and knowing his opponent might give him the advantage. He turned to see that people were staring with fear and anger at him, and the spy realised he was fast becoming the bad guy of the situation. Concluding that the so-called recruitment meeting had been a stitch-up, he decided to exploit this new situation to give himself a little leeway to fight. He raised his pistol into the air, firing several shots and cursing the crowds around him with death-threats and insults. He allowed himself a little smile as the innocent bystanders surged towards the exits of the square, upturning stalls and other bots, and focused back in, trying to spot the hunter who was fast becoming the hunted...

Hammer Crash saw what the Autobot did. Making the crowd get out of the way so that he may fight better. Too bad thought Hammer Crash, he'd would have liked to have used the crowd to his advantage but instead he saw his chance for something else.
As he ducked behind a information terminal, Hammer Crash then chuckled as he yelled out loud. "Think you can make up the rules huh?" And with that, Hammer Crash's hand slid back and fired a steel net at the Autobot.

The stuffing was knocked from Filefinder as he was caught from behind by a mesh of steel wire. Trying to jump clear, the net wound tightly around his legs at the knee, sending him heavily onto his front. Rolling and struggling onto his skidplate, he began to pull against the net, swinging his pistol around and loosing off suppression shots. Grinning, he aimed a quip at his opponent to mount his rising panic. "If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun!" Keeping a trained eye out, he reached out with his mind, trying to locate his hidden adversary with his honed psychic powers...

Hammer Crash saw that the net found its target. He rose and began to approach Filefinder while keeping an optic open for any law enforcements officals or Autobots. The bounty hunter ducked as he heard the shots fired from Filefinder. They had come close but Hammer Crash guessed that the net prevented his target from hitting him directly.
On hearing what Filefinder said, Hammer Crash put it down to fool heartiness on Filefinder half. Keeping his weapon trained on his prisoner, Hammer Crash got closer.
But then the bounty hunter noticed that Filefinder was no longer struggling to get out of the net. What was he doing? To Hammer Crash it looked like Filefinder was concentrating intensely on something. Could he be contacting help with his internal com system? As far as Hammer Crash knew that kind of communication was reversed for special force units. No thought Hammer Crash. The target was his and nothing was going to stop him from making his claim.

Filefinder stayed perfectly still, sketching the area mentally. The end result looked somewhat like a bat doing echolation- sketchy, with rough edges, but functionable. Suddenly, a glaring haze of purple energy was barreling down on him from behind- struggling to turn, he pushed with all his mental might and hurled a psychic bolt of energy at Hammer Crash. His hope was that his new foe would be sufficently weak-willed and simple-minded to be knocked out fully by the assault- if not, it might just stagger him, giving Filefinder time to recover. Or, he thought- converting his mind into a diamond-edged drill with which to attack- it might just make him angry...

Taken completely by surprise, Hammer Crash froze as the psychic energy engulfed him.
(ooc: what sort of damage would I suffer?)

Taken completely by surprise, Hammer Crash froze as the psychic energy engulfed him. (ooc: what sort of damage would I suffer?) (ooc: Well, Hammer Crash has very low intelligence, but I'd say his incredible mental stubbornness would bring him back up towards moderate damage- shall we say he's severely staggered? Obviously there's no physical damage )

(ooc: Fair nuff!)
With his optics wide opened and strained, Hammer Crash felt as if his cybernetic brain was turned inside out. His internal systems sounded off all their alarms and warnings flashed across his vision. It was as if he stepped into the electric frenzy of a ultra static storm.
And then it was all over. As suddenly as it had began the attack had stopped. Hammer Crash fought to remain focused as the pain inside his head began to rise. His cpu registered that his physical body was undamaged but his cortex had suffered some sort of energon overload. All Hammer Crash knew that he had a killer headache coming on.
Pushing himself to his feet, Hammer Crash didn't realize he had fallen, the bounty Hunter scanned the area for Filefinder as his optics tried to recalibrate on his surroundings.
