[glow=blue,2,300]Wow Jinx, you've actually had an ancestor who did something. Maybe only tangentially but its still a tenuous claim to fame. My ancestors were either all Irish peasants, immigrants in Glasgow fleeing Irish famines or Essex country bumpkins. *sigh* If only I had something interesting in my family tree....... [/glow] Darling... I have a couple of Irish peasants in there, myself, and a few from Wales, and Scotland and France (just on my mum's side ), but the best part of my mum's side, outside of her , is that my Irish great grandfather, and his brothers, introduced English football, we call it soccer, to the Americas... and I'm related, by marriage, to Captain Cook... you know the one who discovered Australia and the Cook Islands... my mum's eldest sister married his great, great, great grandson... he, my uncle, is a retired bigwig from Lipton Tea too!
and then on my dad's side.... my grandfather owned a vineyard, in Hungary, that still grows his grapes and you can buy his wine, red and white, in liquor stores, all over the place... and I doubt that any of you would be familiar with this, but my dad is cousin to Sandor Puhl...the world federation soccer refferee and also to Terry Puhl, he played baseball for the California Angels... so I guess I'm well connected to famous people, that have done something a little more tangible eh?!
So now...... you all know most of my family history ... but I thought this was a TF history for the newbies ;D

[glow=blue,2,000]True, but all conversations lead to something else right?
Well, I can't find the famliy tree thingy to give you details, but my Mom's Uncle was the first black prime minster of Barbados, Sir Grantly Adams. Then his son 'Tom' later became prime minster. He's was actually like my second cousin or something, but I referred to him as my uncle.
So if you ever go to Barbados, the airport and highway are named after those two uncles of mine. [/glow]

Bah.. my famely tree is dull till you get back a few hundred years. My last name is Norse for Warrior son and there is actualy a town someplace named after it.. decended from some Viking Cheif or something. Got more info kicking about someplace but cant be arsed looking.
Hardly as exiting as most of the ones you'll hear but then I'll be the one who everyone will be bragging about being related to as I'm just bloody amazing ;D

Living life in the fast lame, And the coolest thing about him would be his last name! Moffat, Like I said before he's all that, But I can bet anything that he really hates RAP![/glow] ;D

I do kind of... but in my old age, I've discovered it's not worth hating those idiots anymore... I wasted too much time thinking "what if"... and "if only".... now I revel in the fact that they did see fit to apologize to me... no one else got one from them (and they hurt a lot of people)... must mean that they liked me all long funny way to show it if you ask me And just so long as my kids don't act like that then things will be ok ;D
BTW, now, I'm quite happy with my maiden name... so much so, that I didn't get rid of it and at TA's school everyone, even the administration, calls me Mrs. Puhl ;D... not by my hyphenated married name
