The worst Megatron ever, show wise must have been Beast Wars Megatron. He looked lame, talked lame and had a lame personality. As for toy-wise, it has to be Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron. Brown and vacuum-metallized blue........talk about ugly colours!
As for good Megatrons show-wise, I can't really think of any. All had their moments of glory and moments of ridicule.

[shadow=red,left,300]Id have to say my favorite Megatron moment starts with BW and ends in BM.
Predicon Megs had a grand plan granted he lost at the end..................Predicon Megatron Conguered Cybertron, enslaved damn near ever spark. To add to that he took the so called "Guards of Cyberton"(Obsidian /Strika) and made them into Generals with there one drones too.Look what he did to Rhinox and the other Maximals sparks.
As for best Megatron toy..........I would have to say Neo Megatron(Dragon purple and pink).
Worst Megatron..............LOL.The LIL Gator one![/shadow]

[glow=blue,2,000]The first Megatron I think was the best one. And in some ways underated as alot of ppl perfer Galvatron.
But Megs is great as a bad guy, ain't afraid to get his hands dirty and throw his troops in harms way. Takes no crap from anyone and bows to no body, until he meets Unicron but hey, later on he trys to take charge of him too.
In many ways he's that high school bully that beat up the teachers as well. The leader of a huge gang but was smart and merciless. Even though his plans failed alot you can bet that in reality Megs would have come out on top against the Autobots in the end.
The G1 show had a great voice for him and a wicket laugh, he stands out amoung alot of cartoon bad guys and I can only see him going further in to the bad guy hall of fame once the live movie comes out.
Personaly, I perfer Megs over Galvatron, old Galvy is getting played out. My only complaint about Megs is that he didn't have much to do in the final issues of the Marvel series except have strange visions while trying to beat Galvy and Shockwave.
This tank version is a much more particule from to have considering a gun isn't the most power weapon out there. (One would assume that it would consentrate his firepower into a stronger beam but there nothing in writing to prove it, will check DW MTMTE tonight to see what they have to say). I'm didn't like his G2 tank form, perfered the grey Megs but the War Within Megs is superb. Big grey tank with at least three canons. now thats fire power!
The BW Megs was great as well! It took Megs to a new level, its really all about the voice and the "Yessss!" that won him over IMO.
And with that said, if you look at most of the Megatron's to follow (Except BM) they seemed to be based more on the BW Megs. I mean look at Prime, he's been Blue and Red for a long time but Megs has had a purple theme for a while now, but of course I'm not count every single toy or Energon.
I know nothing of the RID Megs and only the comic version of Armada Megs. From what I hear the old BW voice is used for that, good choice. Hopefully we get to hear the original Megs in the new movie.
And like I said earlier, its too bad Megs didn't do more in the Marvel comic. I'd would have liked to have seen him beat Galvy and then take it to Scorponok later on, but at least he came back for G2 and squared off against Jhiaxus. The only protrail of Megs I really don't like is the current DW comics and Pat Lee's art. He looks like a marshmellow made man and his plans are crap. Infact he comes off less powerful then Prime instead of his equal in battle. Look at how many times Prime hits him and not the other way around.[/glow]

G1 - My prefereance here was the comic version as he was much more ruthless and cunning than being limited to a kids cartoon genre where his mosts often words were "Decepticons, retreat!)
He had the whole Lord Straxx thing to deal with as well, had starscream trying to betray him 24/7 and when prime died in the computer simulation he took his sulky mood out on the nearest con, brawl, by crushing his head!. He didn't take much crap from anyone resisting even unicron at first
comic megs = uber.
The toy may have looked silly in robot mode but in gun mode back in the 80's it was of course great! Due mainly to it authenticity of looking like a proper gun which has even caused the odd problem with the recent re-issue.
G2 - Good comic character, but the toy won for me here. An imprint that would influence further later ideas. I think it was a good making him into a tank in G2, character wise he was certainly more bonkers (?) but had the fire now of that of something equivalent to Galvatron+ (? possibly?).
preferance = toy megs
I will briefly metion croc Megs and plane megs (machine wars) which were basically a lack of ideas into the character and the most weakest Megatron's IMO.
Beast Wars/Beast Machines - 2nd to the G1 comic Megs comes BW/BM for me. I disagree with obsidian here. IMO he has the ruthlessness and evilness of G1 megs and the cunning of G2 megs. Prehaps almost one of the best Megatrons to date IMHO. In respect to what HA said, alright he failed but by BM he had concered cybertron and seemed almost unstoppable!
Design wise i loved Megs the t-rex, the personality was quirky but still deliciously evil at the same time. I can't imagine the BM toy of Megs (was there one?) especially as he was a pretty much a head. Look wise i prefer the BW over BM but i understand the concept of BM megs design.
Toy = BW Megs for me
Character = BW & BM megs
Overall fave = character as a whole
RID - Toy wins for me here, it was the first RID toy i got but had great articulation and 6 modes. Not sure about the hand, bat and gargololes mode but we had the car, plane etc. It was sort of a goth looking Megs due mainly to the bat theme but i love the toy as much as a bugger as it is for me to transform.
2nd to wrose character megs IMO. Almost camp in the cartoon, wasn't evil enough i felt relying on laccy's too much. a poor effort.
Armada - I personal;ly like the toon megs but i can't comment on the comment or toy as i do not have them, though the toy does look good. Maybe the comic megs is better (?) but for now with my only limited knowledge it's a better than RID megs but not near BW/BM Megs or G1.
The energon toy Megatron looks promising.

All IMO; mmm toy wise itd have to be BW Megs. Show wise itd have to be BM Megs Comic wise its a draw between Armada Megs and G1 Megs. Let me explain... Toy: This toy was bad ass. A T-rex that looked like it could pound grimmers into the floor. Yeah the colours are very Barney but ive always advoctaed that maybe Diniosaurs were neon and hey this adds to it . PLus a brown dino would suck. It had missles,a extendable claw, a water gun, a mutant mask that looks badass open or closed. PLus the character still has that 'g1 megs' feel. Cartoon: For all of HA's reasons above. He was the ultimate evolution of BW Megs's character. Ive often said the BM Primal/Megs situation reminded me off Xavier/Magneto of X-men fame. I mean a lot of what Megs said in it made sense and on more than one occaision a Maximal doubted what they were fighting for. He was smart, creepy, and sinister. I mean he even got put in a diagnostic drones body and was still a threat. Comic: Ive said it before and ill say it again that Armada Megs was sold on me on that spalsh page of his skewring Galvs withg starsaber! Such a class issue and made me really respect the character. G1 Megs was also class and the insane angle was played so well on numerous occaisions. im a big Straxus fan too and his involvement only made it better.

[glow=blue,2,000]Yeah, I'm glad to see Galvy bite the dust to Megs. Galvy is thought of being so uber and I'm sick of it to the max.[/glow]

Bah i wrote a long reply and then got that accursed 'too mnay connections' message and lost it. Cant be arsed to type it again so here's the general shebang...
I agree Timewars galvs was ace and played him very well as a menacing force. Hes the sort of character that if over used becomes repetive and tiresome very fast but is good for some climatic battle sonce in a while. Galvatron 2 was kinda lame ion this respect and rather pointless just for Maximus to beat up on...
Thats why having him walk into Armada as the bees knees was good cause it not only put Megs over but made him job to an 'equal'/superior with the starsaber.

[glow=blue,2,000]"Hello there, my name's Megatron, what's yours?"[/glow] [glow=blue,2,000]Looking back at my previous post, this one is pretty garbage. Must be from the episode where Megs blasts Orion Pax causing Alpha Trion to recreate him into Optimus Prime. Speaking of which, Megs sort of has a screwed up Origin in the show. The whole being created by the Destructicons and all. I like the comic version of the Gladitor myself. Makes more sence then just being created and 'Hello, I'm a bad ass so join the Cons and lets take over the universe'. At least as a Gladitor we see more history and a better understanding as to how Megs thinks.[/glow]

Yeah i think so too. I really like the annual story with the overlord and ravage joining megs. Was really well done imo.

Just finished reading Time Wars again and it reminded me that the Galvatron of the target 2006, fallen angel, space pirates etc etc stories (i.e. the marvel 'proper' galvatron) is actually created from the remains of the MEgatron clone that shares minds with Straxus. Id like to see how the events of Time Wars unfolded first time round where Megatron actually won and defeated everyone to go on to become Galvatron and what happened to the real Megatron who obviously returned immediately after in the 'Two Megatrons' Story.
