This Month you have voted to talk the G2 comic, a 12 part series that saw the Autobots and the Decepticons to team up to fight the deadly Swarm, the loss of some major players and the return of the greatest decepticon leader and re-birth of his oppossing heroic Autobot leader.
tell us what you like or disliked about it, favourite or non favourite bits!

[glow=blue,2,000]Well, I hate to say it, but the art work I didn't like. Its too bad it didn't have some better artists taking a stab at it. (On a side note, I'd like to see Marvel Legend Arther Adams do a TF series). I feel the art was weak, didn't match up to the story or get the message across in the way it should have been delievered.
But the stakes in this one were high. Characters dieing left right and center, even some favourites here and there like Nightbeat, Bludgeon and Slag. Then again its easy to bring back a TF though, look at Prime.
The action was great, like Hoist said once they had big f*** off guns and didn't hold back on getting there hands dirty. Had the old formule of Starscream off on his own agenda but I don't think I liked the coming together of both forces to beat the Swarm. Its a played out senerio me thinks, plus they did it in the first series against Unicron.[/glow]

Yeah i liked the fact that alot of the older ones had swords, knives and F**k off guns, it just made it more bad ass Especially with the likes of Hound, sideswipe et al.
I personally liked the artwork as it was more graphical, the only things that bothered me were a) the wirey necks, especially on prime and b) teeth, though the latter has always been a problem.
And Spike & Fort Max and Hot Shot! The latter giving his live so the earth forces didn't get the techonolgy. Some say that was a sensless death (Hot spot), well i haven't decided on that but i do like the way it was played out.
I'm keeping UK G2 comics out of it as basically they were crap. They were only good when reprinting the US stuff. You wan't bad art, you should see some of the UK G2 comics... :xshock
I think you said once L7 that you didn't like they way prime "rebirthed". Personally i thought it was very well done IMO the best since his TFTM death. And yes i will go out on alimb here and say it did move me as much as the TFTM death, not so emotionally but i was only 10 at the height of the movie or thereabouts (maybe 9).
It also gave me a great insight to Commander Juxiahus (sp - i know that's almost probablly definetlly wrong) as i had no idea who he was.
I like the explanation of how these decepticons went off conquering during the earth years, making Prime feeling very much like a relic.
We also has the shockwave Vs Scorponok fight, and Prime's defeat and surrender at the knees of Scorpock (Love that cover! Prime in the rain holding out the autobot logo)

Oh, and forgot to say that Jhiaxus (Thats the speeling) blowing up San Fran was cool![/glow]

I liked some of the art but the chaning of artists every other issue wasnt consistent enopugh for me. The story felt rushed and crammed towards the end which was a shame.
Overall its good and was a nice addition to the G1 comic, Re-alignment at Transforce made it for me anmd rounded it off as the ending with Liege Maximo was rubbish and left it too wide open for the final shot of the series.

Yeah black sideswipe was cool. It would have been far nicer to see how the characters had chnaged since G1 with some more development and so on. I mean everyone seemed at the end of their tether in G2 and i for one would have liked to see the gradual developments.

[glow=blue,2,000]You know, all the death's in G2 may have shown that the stakes, but I think alot of them were done kind of haphazardly.
I like Red Alert's death but I'm not sure if that was really his personality. Didn't like Inferno's and considering in the US comic we didn't get alot of him I'd would have liked to have seen more of him. Didn't like Bludgeon's death, would have been cool to watch him facing off against Starscream.
And I didn't like Nightbeat's death at all, especial considering Furmon made him cool in the Matrix quest. Self destructing wasn't cool. And of course killing Slag was a mistake, the Dinobots woild never be the same.[/glow]

Yeah i mean ive always defended the former Mayhems in G2 to the hilt. And against everyone else's protests I still insist yopu dont see Ock and SH die. You see their shells get hit but nothing fatal as such.
And Megs only has Bludgeon's pretender shell head ona stick, you never see the inner robot's remains.
I actually worked for some time on art concepots for the inner robots of the three guys and what they might look like reformatted but never got around to it. Might do that at some point.

[glow=blue,2,000]I just remembered something I didn't like, the whole Fort Max and Spike relationship bit. It also stems from the last few isssues of the original Marvel series but I can't see Max turning to Spike for support.[/glow]
