Was the G2 comics a good idea? What do you think vote and have your say!
I think they were. I admit i was put off at first having seen UK issue #2 (me being from the UK and all).
The UK ones suffered from poor dialog and poor artwork IMO. Okay maybe i'm being picky but i wasn't impressesd to say the least.
I think the UK ones were only decent when they reprinted the US ones. The US ones amazed me... Big f*** off guns, swords, Fighting every issue!... It was simply great.
I really liked the swarm and the idea of how every transformer could create another from within.
so what do you think? Good or bad? Fave bits, bad bits?

You said it all, Greenie. The UK one was simply poor and nothing but. Period.

Uk issuse 1 and 2 sucked, like you say when they went onto US reprints it got better but since we wer emissing bits it didnt really all fit very well.
Nice idea but they failed i have to say. Cool stickers though, i still have mine on the comics, so tempting to put them everywhere!
The US one was great. The military aspect was superb and Megs and prime side by side was a nice culmination of the enemies. Jhaixus was a good villain and genuinely came across as a thread as did the New Decepticons.
Plus the cameo panel with Straxus was great! I love Straxus!

[glow=blue,2,000]I liked it and I miss it. I wish they didn;t stop. I never liked the art except for Geoff Senior's stuff. He wasn't the best or nothing but he gave the TFs a sence of flow and movement where every other artist drew them stiff and emotionless. The story was great and it focued in on key characters. Perhaps the Prime dying the reformating could have been left out, and I wish they wrapped it up better with Megatron doing or saying something. And of course Liege Maximo, what did Mr. Furmon have in store with him...[/glow]

[glow=blue,2,000]I also didn't like the deaths that seemed thrown in, like Slag's and Nightbeat's. Kinda weak considering there fan favourites.[/glow]

I liked Hotspot's all or nothing way out though and Fort Max's demise (think he was one). I know yo don't favour it L7, but for me Primes being eaten inside out completely floored me to a level of the movie status of Prime dying in TF:TM.
I'm not sure how i feel about the self regeneration of new transformers through themselves though. I have to decide is it a spark they are given that brings them to life or the matrix?. In some ways i'm kind of against it as they'd all try and do it from then on, even if it does require much effort. I dunno, what do others think?

[glow=blue,2,000]Transformers having Transformers is weird. I think good old fashion creating them is fine. And I'd always figured that it was a spark that the Matrix or Vector Sigma gave out when granting a freshly made Cybertroina life.[/glow]

I never liked the replication idea, seemed bizarre to me. Having a group of TFs who left ala The Headmasters back in the early, early, early days would have served just as well unto itself.
The deaths were as always fun, Furman cant help but massacre everyone in insane ways. It's just like Underbase, Time Wars and Unicron. G2 is right up there for random lame deaths.

You mean of Ock hehehe
Yeah it always got me how he would focus on these characters so much and then just masacre them when he felt like it. I dont think I've ever read another comic book where there are so many deaths of characters that actualy had some decent face time

Bah his shell took that shot
He knew the series would crash and went off to make dodgy b-list horror movies
