Changes to the V4: Heroic Autobot Skin

Following some art I've been doing in Photoshop just now, I'm doing a clear-up of the V4 Heroic Autobot skin. After doing some retro G1-esq work, I'm making the skin more retro as there's far too much red as it is. The make-over when complete, will be more akin to classic G1 Autobot colours and I may even duplicate it for a V5: G1 Retro Decepticon skin also. It's also a chance to use this retro 3-step title:



Which came along because - if you try and fit "TRANSFORMERS" on a custom tech sec card, that's a long word to squish in there! Whereas in the retro version "trans" and "formers" were always cut into two on different lines. This emulates that in a 3-step and just happens to have the first diagonal of letters form our initials - TTF! There is also a Classic retro Decepticon version of course.

All work on this skin re-jiggle is a work in progress currently.

Wasn't sure where else to post this, didn't want to steal the awesome thunder lineup going on in the TTF anniversary thread. This is what I meant by "blurry" legend avatars, when you go into a thread and it has no more subthreads (ie, not the forums main page).



But this is not to complain, I really do love the colors scheme and the rest of the skin looks.

Oh, I was looking at the main age only.

Your mistaking blurry for an inner glow inside the graphic, it's done that way to differentiate between a normal thread, hot thread, sticked, locked threads and announcements.

I had a re-think and re-did them all.

The problem was, when I created the skin I had no idea what to do for the icons - but I had some time yesterday and had a little think and instantly got the idea to do different colored "Renegade symbols". I've gone a bit further with gradients, glows and such but I think they're a big improvement over the previous set.

Changes to the V4: Evil Decepticons skin & V013: TF:Generation One

Following the update on the 20th August 2015, both 'V013: TF:Generation One' & V4: Evil Decepticons have changed names.

They are now known as the following:

• 'V013: TF:Generation One' = Generation 1: Heroic Autobots
• V4: Evil Decepticons = Generation 1: Evil Decepticons

As of this moment the fate of the other "Heroic Autobot" skin is as yet undetermined. Just thinking about it, this may change to "Independance Day" skin and may serve as seasonal only. Suffice to say, both the "Generation" skins are being enhanced with 200% more G1 classic retro look more akin to the original G1 era.

All work on this skin re-jiggle is a work in progress currently.

It's certainly not a color scheme I would've considered for this board, but I was inspired by Jazz's wonderful Renegade RP posters!

Five (5) likes for the initial preview post and I'll put it up for a trial run for members to test and try out, see how they like it.

The following skins have had their banners optimized:

*Fall of Cybertron
*Transformers Prime
*Omega Supreme
*Transformers Animated
and *2002 default.

I might do more tomorrow. More would've been done, but I had to re-do the old 2002 default banner from scratch as my past techniques in 2007 & 2009 re-makes looks very bad now; and dated.

Caption Contest Winner's Page

So as you will no doubt see there is now a permanent "Caption Contest Winners!" page in the top menu now. It's been a little bit delayed due to trying to decide how to do the cards, how to display the leader board and whether or not to set up another custom page. It's still early days yet but let me know what you think and keep those suggestions comings about the cards: here. I made a template for them so any current ones can be adjusted as we keep these ideas coming.

Awards getting on over-haul

Up until now, when you've been in a thread, your award icons have been at the bottom of your mini-profile. My problem I've always had with this is that they've had time spent on them when made - and the details are lost by them being 30 x 30 pixels, which they needed to be to display them all. So what I've decided, is to change it to a pop-up window. When in a thread you'll see a link that says "Achievements" where they were, click on that and a window will pop up and show them now. You'll notice they've gone from 30 x 30 to nicely displayed, crisp, 100 x 100 icons.

The crisp ones are the ones done so far, the blurry ones are obviously the ones that have automatically been up-scaled and need to be fixed. Think of it as going HD with the icons!
