That moment when you can't decide which one to get because of the covers! On this page is the standard one, which, meh it's okay. There's is then this one claiming to be Cover #b, which; is absolutely amazing! However I like this one, but it says Cover R1 (WTF?!) I like that one as it's to do with the feature story with the Mayhem Squad, it's classic Wildman art and - it's Huffer! I'm not sure which is real apart from the first one, which has been widely posted. Where I buy from it only shows that cover, it has a "B" cover, but there's no image! Real or not?! - the Prime one. Has any one of them ever had more than two covers?Any one read this btw? Legendary TF writer Simon Furman along with one of the original artists back from the Marvel days, Andy Wildman, team up and Furman and continues the story exactly 21 years after #80 ended of the original G1 comic.

I'm such a bad fan. And a bad G1 fan at that. I'm not drawn to pick up this title.....

I wasn't initially drawn but decided to give #81 a go as it was Furman and Wildman, and haven't been able to stop reading since! It caters more for the mature audience that grew up with Transformers. When you think about it Furman can now push the stories he wants, where as the original run as great as it was, was always interrupted by some new storyline because there was a new toy coming out. So naturally it featured those characters to push new toys, pretty much like the cartoon. He doesn't have that restriction these days.

I think I will pick it up soon. It just doesn't grab me. Personally I think the art direction makes perfect sense, with Wildman on the pencils. But I just don't feel like getting into it. So it is taking place between issue 80 and G2?

Yeah, although with #91 little elements of G2 characters were starting to creep in - Bludgeon, Rook.

They were in the comic before it stopped at issue 80. Optimus was battling it out with Bludgeon in the last page. And Rook was one of Unicron's heralds who tracked down Galvatron from another universe.
