The tar challenge proved difficult for Guren and Scarlett as their bodies were smaller then the others. They pushed their way through as best as they could and were able to dodge the falling debris due to their smaller size. Hardclaw was able to push his way through the tar better then most but received many shots to his back as his size made him an easy target. All made it safety to the other side and completed that trail.
-----
Hardclaw found it hard to jump from pole to pole, his weight and lack of fitness made it difficult for him and he even fell many times before completing the challenge. Guren and Scarlett were quite nibble when it came to jumping from pole to pole and got better with each attempt made to get from either side. They had taken their fair share of hits from the blunted spears from below but did not fall as many times as Hardclaw did.
-----
The mountain climb proved interesting for each trainee. Guren was good at dodging Hawk's assault as he faked many attempts and jumped and flipped when he jumped form various platforms. Scarlett was extremely fast, making it hard to hit her but she had fallen back a few times since she was going at it as fast as she could. Hardclaw's steel skin was able to with stand the pain of Hawk's assault but was able nibble as the rest when he had to make long jumps.

After some time and training, Alpha Trion took each trainee aside for some personal teachings.
----
SWITCHBLADE
Alpha Trion had taken to Switchblade to a unknown location. They were in an area where there were small holes on the ground that were pumping out a strange pink like substance. "Switchblade. You have acted confidently in the trails and have used your abilities to assist you. How far along do you feel you are in your training? Take your time to answer, and in the meantime, help me collect the carbon-liquid that comes from the ground. We need it for the foundation of our base. Just reach in and grab what you can and place it over there."
------
TARAN
Alpha Trion lead Taran to the cliff that over looked a deep valley. In the valley, a large series of wires ran from one side of the valley to the next. The web of wires was so complex that if one was to fall into the valley they're body wouldn't not fall in to a straight line downwards as they would hit wire after wire and maybe even become tangled. "This valley was created by an earthquake many years ago. The wires you see here were about of a underground network used by ancient Cybertrons. But were not here for a history lesson. Taran, I have noticed that you have become rather quiet. It would seem you are deep in though which is good. But to become a Blademaster, thoughts and actions must become one. Dwell on this while you retrieve me a gasket near the centre of this web of wires before you." Alpha Trion then pointed to the centre of the wires, between the sides of the valley.
------
L926-1
L926-1 followed Alpha Trion though the dark passages of a burned out section of Cybertron. "This is what is left of a acid lake. The area is a burnt out shell of steel now, nothing lives down here and it stretches for miles. A waste. A waste like the time you spend worrying. I have noticed that you haven't spent much time with the others except for Scarlett. And I have noticed that you have not realized who you are yet. It would seem that you are lost within yourself my young friend."
-----
HARDCLAW
Hardclaw and Alpha Trion were out collecting what seemed to be dead robots. Alpha Trion told Hardclaw that he felt Hardclaw was the only one able to deal with removing the dead to a better place. Hardclaw was stoic as he helped find the dead mechs a better resting spot. Alpha Trion then decided to speak to Hardclaw about his training. "You have great strength about you Hardclaw and can endure much. But everyone has a limit. What do you suppose we can do to make sure that when the time comes that your armour no longer hold up, that you'll be able to move out of harms way?"
-----
SCARLETT
Scarlett and Alpha Trion were standing by a lake of highly unstable energon. The energon flowed at a steady pace down the coast. "This is a highly concentrated form of energon. It can destroy a mech when it makes contact with our skin."
Alpha Trion took a sample of it with a simple cup. He handed it to Scarlett to have a look. It sparks several times in the cup as she held it. Alpha Trion then lead to her down the path they had originally from.
------
GUREN
Alpha Trion brought the youngest member of the group out to the entrance of a cave. The two went in and Guren found that the cave led to a large underground cavern. Full of metallic formations on the ground, the walls and the ceiling. It was a marvel to witness. Guren's instincts were to start jumping from one large formation to another. Alpha Trion stopped him before he could do anything. "Tempting isn't it? To just jump around. Your new found power much bring you such joy."
"Indeed Alpha Trion! Its almost as if I can fly!" Replied Guren.
Alpha Trion smiled. "Your are indeed quite talented. More talented then I would have guessed. Now I've brought you here to help me find something. Here," Said Alpha trion as he passed Guren some goggles. "These inferred goggles are needed to help me find some very rare minerals inside this cave."

Neoptolemus's knee still ailed him after all this time, and all his improvements- perhaps a phantom pain, he thought, his mind's attempt to remind him of Kledij's injustices constantly, painfully. Whatever it was, he had taken steps, now carrying a staff wherever he went to support himself. It had slowed him somewhat, but it proved it's worth in Alpha Trion's early trials... --- Netoptolemus batted away pieces of scrap as he struggled through the tar. He was not an agile bot, and found that wildly swinging his staff to block the falling debris was the only way to defend himself- even this proved useless, though, as he was caught off guard by a fragment which caught him on the back of the head. He fell heavily, watching his friends skip and dance out the way of the shrapnel as the world spun and whirled, and he was pummelled with more fragments as he crawled forwards towards the end of the course. --- He fared even more poorly in obtaining his energon ration. Unable to keep his balance as he landed, he stuck his staff out and pushed off another platform, righting himself. He had to do this several more times as he made his way across, but eventually, the butt of the staff slipped, and he fell, the breath being knocked from him as he landed on the shafts below. --- On the last challenge, Neoptolemus was determined to succeed. He took hit after hit from Hawk, sometimes avoiding the strikes, sometimes being slammed with the steel cubes, but clung on regardless, never losing pace with the other bots. As he pulled himself over the last legde, and lay, panting, on the precipice, his knee blazing with pain. He had made it. --- By the end of the trials, Neoptolemus was battered, exhausted, and deflated. He no longer attempted to make conversation with his new friends, preferring instead to spend his time, as he had always done, reading, gathering what scraps he could and expanding his knowledge. He had suffered worse beatings from the Quints, he told himself, and had still refused to give in- but as he sat alone in a quiet corner of Alpha Trion's hideout, however, he began to wonder if this was the place for a bot whose greatest faculty was his mind, not his body.

NEOPTOLEMUS
Neoptolemus and Alpha Trion were walking along the path up the mountain where they're hidden base laid. "So Neoptlemus, it would seem that I am a bad surgeon. You have been using a cane to assist in the training and to walk. Tell me, do you believe the Quintessons will be as forgiven seeing you with a cane as one of your comrades would be?"

Neoptolemus looked straight ahead, almost ignoring Alpha Trion's words as he limped up the mountain, staff in hand. He sniffed, as if thinking, looking up to the path ahead, and eventually spoke. "I expect my enemies to forgive nothing. But I would be a fool to ignore my limitations. A lame mech carries a cane- this is natural. Besides, I relish my weakness- my flaws are what separate me from those I oppose. To be perfect, to be ordered, to be without defection- this is what the Quintessons aspire to, what they call power. But it is an unsustainable existence, and it will lead to their downfall. And so I carry this cane as a badge of honor, a monument to my flawed nature- and as I progress, I hope I will be able to turn it into a weapon with which to strike out at them, and with which to protect my friends." He shifted his balance on the stave as they may their way over a rough outcrop. He sniffed again. "I hope that answers your question, friend." -and fell back into silence.

NEOPTOLEMUS
Alpha Trion and Neoptolemus then stopped at the edge of a cliff, a dead end on the oath they were on. They stood about half way up the mountain and were able to look out across the waste lands before them. The view, despite being gloomy, was still very impressive. Alpha Trion then turned to Neoptolemus. "So you wish to turn your cane into a weapon, I may be able to help you with that. May I see it?'
Neoptomelus handed Alpha Trion the cane. The teacher then spoke. "You know their's nothing wrong with your leg. Its all in your mind. Thats the true power of the Quintessons. Not their ability or drive to become what they believe is perfection. They'll ability to make us slaves both physically and mentally. You must allow your mind to be free, open up to the world and not just see the things hidden to you. But to make yourself better the the world or the galaxy intended you to be. We do not need weapons, we are the weapon."
Alpha Trion then threw the cane off the edge of the cliff. He then raised his other hand revealing a cubed-shaped object that began beeping. He threw the object high above their head to the side of the mountain. The object released a shockwave high above, and still powerful enough to send vibrations down to where the two robots stood. Cracking could be heard from up above and small metal debris began to roll down the side.
Alpha Trion turned to Neoptolemus. "You pride yourself on intelligence but your mind believes your body is not as strong. Now is the time to ignore your weakness!"
Alpha Trion grabbed Neoptolemus by the arm and jumped down the side of the mountain. They landed a some feet away on a natural platform and then jumped two more times on more out stretched landings. Alpha Trion then nodded his head in a direction that meant for Neoptolemus to follow and continued to jumped and leapt downwards from landing to landing.
------
GUREN
Guren placed the goggles on and found that he wasn't able to see through them. "Alpha Trion with these goggles on I can't see. How am I to find the minerals you seek? Alpha Trion?"
No one answered Guren. Guren then tried to take the goggles off but instead heard a click and the goggles gripped his head tighter. The young mech struggled to take them off but couldn't. "Alpha Trion! Your goggles are defective! And quite aggressively broken! Alpha Trion where are you?"
"Run."
Was all Guren heard. "Run? Why? Where are you old mech?"
"Guren, I can not help you. The Quintessons have found us and have done something to the goggles. Save your self and get out of here. Go run!"
Fear shot through Guren's body propelling him forward and crashing in the wall. He then began to move along the wall and bumped into a metal obstruction. Again he heard Alpha Trion's voice. "Remember your training, it will save you. I know the danger is real but you must focus."
Guren began to move again but continued to crash into anything what was in his way.
------
SCARLETT
"So if this substance is so deadly, why not use a better container to carry it?" Asked Scarlett as she was annoyed that she was reduced to carrying out requests instead of training.
Alpha Trion shrugged. "Thats an excellent point! My apologizes. Allow me to make a amends and suggest a short cut?"
Alpha Trion changed directions down the path and the two came to a entrance to what looked like a cave. Inside it was dark but there was just enough light to see the ceiling of the cave. Alpha Trion search his body for a torch. "Carry on Scarlett, as soon as I find some light I shall be right behind you."
Scarlett's optics faded back and forth as if to roll her eyes as she pressed forward. As soon as she was inside a door slide across the entrance, sealing Scarlett inside the cave. She kept her hand on the cup of unstable energon, preventing it from spilling as her body reacted to the shock she felt. As soon as she got her bearings she shouted. "Alpha Trion! Whats going on?"
The only answer she received was light. The cave lit up, blinding Scarlett for a moment until her optics focused. She wished she was still in the dark for what she saw scared her. Only a few feet away was the edge of a cliff. Looking over it she could not see the bottom down below due to the darkness but the fall would be fatal. Then to her sudden surprise she felt the floor moving, turning downwards on a steep angle. She would fall in second. Then from behind her, below her knees, a line shot out from the wall. It shot over the cliff and the deep gorge. With a loud smack the line reached the other side and the line went tight. Without hesitation Scarlett jumped on the line as the floor she was on continued to collapse. She was now more then ever, trying to keep the cup from spilling while balancing herself on the line.
------
HARDCLAW
"But Master Trion, I am mighty!" Proclaimed Hardclaw. "I can take punishment and deal out more against my opponents. Worry not, for not only can I feel no fear when I assist in helping move these poor sparks, I can also take much in battle."
Hardclaw began to pick up a dead body when it moved. Shocked Hardclaw threw the body down. "Primus Slag Me! Do my optics deceive me or did it just move?"
As soon as he finished his statement, another dead body moved. Then another and another. To Hardclaw's dismay, all the dead bodies that surrounded them began to stand up. Hardclaw then heard Alpha Trion yell. "Its a Quintesson trap! Don't let them touch you, they have acid in their finger tips and will tear you apart. Flew while you can!"
Alpha Trion ran for his life as the dead bodies began to go for Hardclaw. Heeding Alpha Trion's word, Hardclaw ducked and dodged every animated dead body them lunched for him and tried to grab him.

Switchblade paused for a moment, examining one of the holes in the ground.
"I feel my training is assisting me greatly. The Energon alone increased my speed, strength, agility and reaction times, but the training is increasing that further. I would like to begin combat training as soon as possible. I feel I'd be a handful for any individual Quintesson with the training I've already received, but if I were to win that fight, it would be more down to luck that anything."
Switchblade knelt down and reached into one of the holes.

As Switchblade gathered the gooey substance, Alpha Trion continued, "Yes, your combat training will start very soon. I can tell your eager to learn how to fight. I can tell because even through training you were using your arm blades. Tell me, what would you do if you did not have them?"
Alpha Trion then whipped out a small device and threw it at Switchblade, who's arms were covered with the messy carbon-liquid. The device erupted into a bright warm light. Then darkness again as the device fell to the ground. All was normal except that Alpha Trion was gone and Switchblade discovered that his arm blades were covered with the now hard carbon-liquid.
From the distance a howling noise was heard. Then from the darkness appeared a strange four-legged creature, followed by even more. They began to growl and circle Switchblade. His arm blades were now rendered useless by the near diamond hard substance that was soft as could be just seconds ago.

Switchblade smiled faintly as he crouched, waiting for the four-legged creatures to approach.
I had a feeling this might happen." He said calmly.
Something about the Energon in his system had changed Switchblade's demeanor. Before, faced with these creatures, he would have panicked. Now, his mind was still racing, but it was picking out the biggest threats to him and how he could avoid them. With no real combat experience, Switchblade knew that fighting the creatures wouldn't do him well, but he could use his natural agility and reflexes to avoid them. All of his agility training so far was rushing back to him as he widened his stance slightly, preparing for an attack.

Neoptolemus winced as he put weight on his knee. He was going to object as he saw his cane disappear over the side of the cliff, but before he could, a strange feeling washed over him- as he listened to his teacher's words, he began to feel separate from his body, his mind expanding and gaining strength over his physical being. As the cliff began to collapse around them, he felt some vague fear at the back of his head, and did what he always did when he felt despair- he looked up, to the stars. When he looked back down, he was smiling. He laughed mirthlessly at Alpha Trion's last words. "I am many awful things, friend. But prideful? Never. Let us see.. if your words contain truth!" He began to hop from platform to platform, copying his mentor's movements. His leg hurt beyond belief, but he suppressed it, throwing his weight behind every leap. He gave an involuntary whoop of exhilaration as he hurled himself across the rocks...

L926-1 surveyed the bleak surroundings as he answered his mentor, "I cannot remember who I am Alpha Tron, why is that? Is there any way you can make me remember or any mind related exercises?" asked the mech. "I want to be like the other, I have come to have great empathy for them after all we've been through. You were too quick to dismiss us as a group if you'll began my pardon sir... If you only knew what we've had to endure.." His head sunk slightly again.
L926-1, as he was, bent down and grabbed a piece of the broken landscape and chucked it into the wastes. "I- I want to be like the others, I do, but I can't fight without a name. I do not wish to be my slave designation no more. I am no slave, and I will seek justice against those Quintesson scrap-piles for what they've done to us!". His face twisted in anger, mouth slanted, hands balled in tight fists..

SWITCHBLADE
As the beast moved in, a feeling of energy surged through Switchblade's body. To him it would look as if the beasts began to slow down as they got closer. Then as if he saw it coming, the beasts began to jump at Switchblade. Growling and roaring, obviously the mechcanical animals were looking for something to fed their over starved systems. Switchblade found himself dodging the first attack with ease. But now the rest of the pack began to move in on the lone student.
--------------
NEOPTOLEMUS
As teacher and student made their way down the steep side of the mountain, jumping from one outcropped metal formation to the next, bigger scraps of steel began to come down. The sound of steel hitting steel, crushing the weaker points of the mountain sent echoes through the air and shook everything within range with a sickening crunch. Alpha Trion was about to jump from one out cropping to another when a large chunk of steel smashed his intended landing spot completely out of the mountain. The teacher changed course and jumped to another and turned back to see how Neoptolems was doing. Alpha Trion saw more larger pieces of steel coming down, making its way towards the base of the mountain. He called to Neoptolemus to hurry and jumped again to the next platform.
--------------
L926-1
"Shame on you!" Yelled Alpha Trion. "For eons I have served my people and you tell me I do not know what you've endured? I had to watch my fellow Cybertronians die and do nothing, and you dare tell me I don't know what my people have gone through?"
Alpha Trion then grabbed L926-1's wrist. "This has nothing to do with you remembering who you were. You have to realize who you are! You haven't opened yourself up yet. Now let go of your thoughts and feelings that you have to be like anyone else! Thats what the Quintessons want! Open yourself up and don't try to remember, realize who you are!" Alpha Trion shook L926-1's wrists hard, trying to make him open his fists and let go of his anger.

Taran walked to the edge of the cliff, and without a moments hesitation, leaned forward and off the edge. As he fell forward, his grapple shot out from his chest into the cliff wall while he simultaneously transformed. He descended down the side of the cliff on the grapple until he reached the first wire. He crawled onto the wire, holding to it firmly with each of his 8 sharp legs, and the grapple disconnected from the cliff wall and reeled back in. He began making his way into the think of the wires, and towards his goal.

"Then you of all people should try having a little more empathy!", grizzled the bot and pushed Alpha's hands away. "I will find myself, in my own way, in my own time.. I will make those Quintessons pay!"

L926-1
As Alpha Trion was pushed away, he turned to walk around L926-1. "Yes, its most important to find yourself. Because if you don't, how will you find your way out?"
Alpha Trion's words seemed to trail off and echo away, as if he was suddenly several yards away. L926-1 turned around to address what Alpha Trion meant when he said 'find your way out', but saw that Alpha Trion was gone.
Then all around the young robot, the walls of the canyon seemed to change shape. The burnt walls seemed to grow taller and almost move on their own. The passages began to shift and change form, creating new passages ways and closing others. While L926-1 could still see the Cybertronian sky above him, the tops of the canyon walls seem to stretch upwards for miles. Too high for L926-1's grapple hook to reach if he tried to use it.
"You must find yourself first...." Alpha Trion's words seem to come from all directions now. Where he had disappeared to was beyond L926-1, and now it looked as if the canyon was alive.
----------------
TARAN
Taran was a mear couple of feet from the gasket Alpha Trion asked him for when he felt heat all around him. Taran saw the wires he had been using begin to glow red with heat. The wires he currently used to hold himself up began to move, almost as if they were trying to shake him off. Then Taran felt the wires begin to grow hotter with each passing mini-astrosecond.
"Thoughts and actions as one Taran." Is all Alpha Trion said.
----------------
SCARLETT
The feisty femmech began to move across the thin line she stood on. She moved as slowly at first but then stopped as she grew angry. "Alpha Trion! Where did you go? This is not funny!" As she yelled, a piece of derby fell from above and struck her left forearm. Scarlett cursed as she almost dropped the unstable energon. She was about to throw it away but then heard Alpha Trion finally. "Scarlett don't do anything rash! That energon, if dropped, will set off a chain reaction inside the chamber. You must get over to the other side with it still intact. And hurry! I fear the chamber is about to collapse."
"Aww slag it all to the void!" Scarlett began to move across the line as more derby fell around her.
----------------
HARDCLAW
Heeding Alpha Trion's words, Hardclaw began to move away from the living dead as fast as possible. He ducked, jumped and rolled to get away from them. He saw more and more coming for him, with their arms out trying to grab him. Their hands leaked rotten fuel and their mouths were foaming at the edges. Hardclaw did not desire to make contact with anyone of them, no matter how small or weak looking. Just as it seemed that he was about to be corner, Hardclaw knew what he had to do next. With each dodge that he massive robot made, he would strike any dead robot with a quick jab of his fists. All the time trying to avoid contact with the hands of the dead.
----------------
GUREN
Fear took hold of Guren, his body shook as he tired to move. But without sight he panicked. He tired to concentrate and jumped, and found that he landed on small pile of steel. "Good Guren!" Yelled Alpha Trion. "Now again, like I've trained you."
Guren took a moment and then made another successful jump. Then another and another, until he crashed into a pile of metal too large for him to jump too. "Guren you must concentrate! Try again, you have time before...."
"No! The Quintessons will get me!" Fear took over Guren's body and mind now. The young robot began to ran randomly and crashed into the surrounding walls of the area in a desperate attempt to escape.
