Not really a fan of it yet but i do enjoy those types of movies. I guess the only movie I saw that I liked was the one back in 1998 or somewhere along there. I think if i remember when i was very little, i liked that one monster that was like a giant moth. It waas a very old looking movie but it was in chinese so i didnt even know what it was called...
Funny enough I just saw the new one on monday, i'd say it was ok but i wanted to see more of Godzilla and the fight scenes more (dont want to spoil it too much), actually a lot of the times the fights were blocked off or covered by debris/fog. There was a lot of focus on the human side but it was more so for story development which is understandable. Then again, i came for godzilla! Who cares about them humans! So my view may be totally different than others.

Sadly, the only Godzilla (and I use that term loosely) film I've seen was that one from '98 that everyone hated. At the time I enjoyed it. Now, not so much. I really should try and watch some of the other ones.

Love Godzilla! Still got the original comics.Got Micromen Godzilla figs. Been watching the old movies on Netflix. This is why we are still friends, you like everything I do Those are the figures where the micromen fit inside the suit, right? I watched all the Godzilla movies on Netflix to get hyped for the new Godzilla release. Also been buying the movies I can readily find to build up my Godzilla movie collection. Just found the Toho Collection Blu Ray sets that just released. I've started collecting the S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla figures. Got SpaceGodzilla a few months back at Megacon because SpaceG is my favorite, and since I just got my first full time check, I bought the Monster Arts MechaGodzilla II (the Heisei period MechaG) from Amazon because there was only one left from the store that had him listed the cheapest and saw that the Revoltech Baragon was on sale and got him for about $25 after shipping. Sadly, the only Godzilla (and I use that term loosely) film I've seen was that one from '98 that everyone hated. At the time I enjoyed it. Now, not so much. I really should try and watch some of the other ones. I loved that movie then too, but we were young I watched it leading up to the new Godzilla release, and it still isn't a terrible movie, it's just not a great movie. Godzilla changed size in that movie too much, and while I don't care that he came to Manhattan to lay eggs (Godzilla has had a kid before, without explanation), I don't buy him laying several hundred eggs. Most Godzilla movies spend a large portion of the movie on the human characters. For me, the new movie fit the formula well. Human plot involving the main antagonist (MUTO in this instance), several instances of human failing to deal with it, and then Godzilla wrecks it. I understand the feeling people had about it cutting away seemingly every time it was getting interesting, and to me that is partially due to CG being expensive, and it likely didn't have the largest budget for a first movie, but when you finally get some long fight scenes, it made all the teasing from before be forgiven. It was awesome in my book. One of the best Godzilla movies. Also, new Godzilla is a ninja.

I loved the classic Godzilla movies as kids. All the kids on my block did. Even watched the cartoon. I never got to involved the later ones but when I watched any of them I loved it. Even the silly human parts didn't ruin it for me.

Gues I wasn't a cool kid, never been into Godzilla personally. Might have seen one or two of the cheesy old movies once or twice at most, but never really took an interest. Never watched the first modern one that everyone said was horrible.

Yes Onix. That be them. For the record Godzilla is the good Guy. I also love Ultraman...... Unless he is the bad guy. He's really more an anti-hero.

In most movies, I agree, but he is definitely typed as the bad guy in Godzilla vs. Mothra: Battle for Earth, and Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: All Out Monsters Attack. I guess the theme is that he is the bad guy whenever Mothra is involved. The first one can be argues he is misunderstood, but the second one he is without doubt, the bad guy.

I've been buying up some Godzilla figures and movies. Got the 4 Toho collection sets that just saw mass release. Bought a few Showa series movies I've yet to see: Godzilla vs Ebirah, Godzilla vs Gigan, and Godzilla vs Hedorah. Bought the NECA Godzilla figure since I found it at TRU today, and bought the Revoltech Baragon since I got him for $25 shipped on Amazon. He will look good with my Monsterarts SpaceGodzilla and MechaGodzilla 2.

Count me in as a fan. Been long since I've seen a Godzilla I can really appreciate. Really liked the movie, pleased that it made Godzilla a sort of hero than the villain.
