Well don't worry if not, because every Monday I'll read each issue then post a summary here, describe the story give you a synopsis and my thoughts and you can feel free to ask any questions along the way!
UK Issue#1
Date of issue: 20th Sept - 03rd October 1984.
Synopsis: Circling the star Alpha Centuri, the Saturn sized metallic planet, Cybertron teams with life. It is not a traditional things like soil and weather but entirely metallic with great cast cities, roadways and life - yet entirelly mechanic. Sentient life survives here, autonomous robot life-form that have lived in peace for Eons. A paradise; but every has a serpent and it's name is Megatron. With his lust for power he has been recruiting troops to wage a war against the Autobots and turn the planet into a killing machine. Only the Autobots most wise and noble leader, Optimus Prime; can stop him. After centuries of war however, the force of the battle has knocked their home planet - Cybertron, out of orbit and into the path of an asteroid field!
Aboard their ship- The Ark, Optimus and his troops with the ships defenses also, try and clear a path but Megatron in his warship attacks and boards the Autobot ship. With little other choice Optimus sets the ship on a collision course with the third planet in that system - Earth..
Thoughts: UK issue #1 is an exact copy of the US issue#1, bar a different cover and the issue ends with the ship's computer about to re-vitalize the Transformers aboard - bots and cons. The detail (From the US) on the bots is quite nice but the early art tends to give a lot of the bots and cons a kind of bug-eyed/bobble-eyed look. Megatron's fusion cannon is also hugely over-sized for evil emphasis. Unlike the cartoons we get to see Ravage early on talking - not just growling and his very loyalty and obedience to Megatron who makes sure he remembers this given that he is a spy. (Spies are likely to change sides when the going gets tough.) Optimus is familiar as is Megatron but with a very whitish color - maybe meant to represent metallic looking. He also has his familiar bucket head but has a much more rounded head at the top, with a huge brow/crown. WIth the dot coloring method, colors are limited to and variants of reds, blues, whites, greens and yellows, so coloring on Transformers can be eratic.
Things to note:

Things to note:
- Optimus transforms into what is described as a combat vehicle topped with his blaster, very Cybertronian looking.
- What looks like Prowl (From the back) judging by the twin shoulder canons, has a more Earth looking mode already in robot mode.
- The Autobots are unable to over-power the Decepticons when they board the ship due to being low on energy/fire-power after clearing a space in the asteroid field.
- On Cybertron, the Decepticons have the advantage having the ability to turn into weapons
- The Autobots discover transformation and choose vehicles and such for a more offensive position
[li]It says the war on Cybertron lasts over one thousand years. (Whatever that is in their time realistically.)
