Woah! I'm just glad we're getting another game. (Besides inevitable future film tie-ins), especially as High Moon went belly up I think, which was a great shame.

Oh wow! I hope this definitely comes to fruition! Been wanting a decent G1 game since the PS2's Japan only release of Transformers Tataki back in the early 2000s.

Yeah I heard some real bad things about it. I remember playing a G1 Quake mod years and years ago on the web, can't remember who hosted it or where I played it.

Well it looks like it's mostly a melee type of game. I would like some fps for sure.

Platinum makes some interesting titles. They have a cult following, but I wouldn't say they have a massive following. I will get it, and hopefully have fun for what it is. It is disappointing to not be getting any more entries in the Cybertron line of games, though. Still, cool art style.

I think the reason why I was on the fence about this game was because of the lack of a follow up to FoC. Rise of the Dark Spark was a pitiful game. I'm normally forgiving but the handling of the characters was crap! When ever I transformed I had to wait a full second to move. Must be a PS3 thing as I'm sure I saw PS4 demos that didn't have that problem. But now I've read this... Hands-On with TF Devastation
Now I'm feeling better about this game, and a little excited. Basically it talks about the characters you use and their different methods of combat. All five are different from each other. I was hoping that this game had some gun-play in it as the trailer had basically none, and I wasn't a big fan of the swords. But the articles mentions that some characters do in fact use ranged weapons along with other styles of combat. In WFC I always felt the melee was a little weak. I mean it was satisfying to smash the enemy but it lack style also you had to wait a second or so to smash them again if the first hit didn't take them out. FoC was better. Now it seems that TFD has piled on the action for melee fights. While I'm a ranged fighter for sure, I think when I use Sideswipe I'll be be going fists first in to most brawlers. And Wheeljack sounds like he's in character here, using a bunch of weapons that he crafted at a safer distance. In the article it mentions the Insecticons and Soundwave's minions. Very cool and it talks about different environments that we haven't seen in the trailer. As much as I'm looking forward to fighting in a ruined city on earth, I know I'd get a little bored if thats all we saw. Later today I think E3 might reveal some game play. I'm hoping so. And I'm hoping this game sells well when it comes out. The TF universe needs more games, imagine Beast Wars! And maybe we'll get a 3rd instalment of the WFC/FoC series. After all ROTDS wasn't a direct continuation. Maybe its in the plans but on hold? Maybe thats why ROTDS had to be a prequel of sorts? I doubt we'll get that 3rd instalment. So I think this game will generate some goodness. Especially if we get some more characters in the mix. I'd love to use Brawn, Cliffjumper, Jazz, Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Mirage, Prowl, Hoist, Tracks, Warpath, Inferno, the rest of the Dinobots, Jetfire, Hot Rod, Kup and Ultra Magnus down the road sometime.

Reading the second part - the "hands on" it does sound really good!
I also wouldn't mind seeing Hot Rod, rest of the Dinobots Hoist (Although unlikley0, especially Trailcutter. Jazz, Ironhide and Cliffjumper are musts.

Here's a interview with the developers about the game with some gameplay.

well I like what I have seen so far, however I am not too impressed with the starter Autobots you can play with. I certainly hope there will be plenty to unlock on both Con and Bot side. I would love to see characters like Rodimus, Galvatron, Cyclonus, Ultramagnus, Jazz, Arcee, Metroplex etc etc. They have a real good opportunity here to do something magnificent, I hope they don't fall short.

In the interview they say you can't play as Decepticons. Lets hope there come more Autobots. And preferences aside, if new characters really means just different skins, then I think we'll sooner see Cliffjumper (Bumble Bee), Jazz, maybe Sunstreaker, (Sideswipe) and maybe Prowl/Blue Streak/Smokescreen (Wheeljack) Or maybe Trailbreaker since Wheeljack uses a forcefield in combat. Ironhide could fit in that position too. I'm not keen on when a Autobot transforms in mid-air and hits a Decepticon. Feels a little silly. I think I'll leave that combo out of it when I play. I should with hold judgement but the game feels like it's geared towards a younger crowd in a way. The official website and other online sites are now up for Transformers Devastation! www.transformersgame.com/#/homeplatinumgames.com/games/transformers-devastation/www.facebook.com/transformersgamewww.youtube.com/user/transformersgame1BTW, I predicted this game years ago. Below is proof!

If Activision shut them down after FoC, they have no plans of letting anyone else take the reigns. Activisions track record says that WFC and FoC are dead. As for DLC, sure, it could happen, but Platinum has never released a piece of DLC before to my knowledge. They typically make a game and move on.
