So I've been doing some TF research and I found this... tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformer_romance#Generation_1I know the topic can be rather a touché one, but when you see the list of the amount of times it comes up then you know you can't deny it. Of course when it goes the way of the perverted vision that the likes of Tramp like to view it, things get way out of hand. But I like how IDW is dealing with it. Mainly author James Roberts. tfwiki.net/wiki/Conjunx_EnduraQuoted from the wiki, "The relationship is perhaps not out-and-out romance as humans would think or feel it, but author James Roberts has commented that this is because he imagines Transformers don't have relationships in exactly the same way humans do; he leaves no doubt that "Chromedome and Rewind each regard the other as the most important person in their life." I think the underlined part is the most important. After all they are aliens, meaning they don't have to be that human. After all their pretty close as it is (two hands, two feet, two eyes. Most of the time.) I think any fan of Star Trek could point out the many different kinds of alien spices that may share similar things with the human race, also do things differently. Vulcans are rather logical about who they partner up with and mate something like every 7 years, and they have to or they die. (Correct me if I'm wrong Hoist) Klingons are rather violent about it

With my characters D-Fib and Deadbolt, I've kinda given them a reverse Florence Nightingale Syndrome. Florence Nightingale Syndrome being where someone falls for the person giving them medical care. With D-Fib and Deadbolt, it's the other way around. I've done it so that D-Fib feels a strong attachment to Deadbolt after she saved his life before they became Renegades. Deadbolt later became very protective of D-Fib. Not so much a romance, but definitely a strong bond between the two of them.

I think the romance in Transformers is mainly strong, close bonds between one Transformer to another. To them it might not necessarily be "love" as we know it but something similar to it, maybe even something similar to the concept of blood brothers in a way or like Bomblast's example above.

Klingon romance/mating rituals are pretty damn intense. I gotta say I find them quite fascinating.
