Who's playing?
I had preordered it, and started in on it on Tuesday. I made the mistake of playing it on the hardest difficulty, and after much frustration, I think I am going to tone it down. Bosses are disproportionately hard, and a slight misstep means you have to restart the fight. I've made it through many boss fights in chapter 1 on the hardest difficulty, but I can't say I had fun doing it.
As for the art style, I think it looks amazing when the action is going and you are in control, but I feel it is a bit awkward in cut scenes when you have nothing to distract you from some of the textures (like the wheels on the Autobots in the very first cut scene);

I have it. And yes, the art is amazing. Its so nice to look at.
So a lot of it is what I thought it would be. While this is suppose to pay some tribute to the original show, and it does successfully in many ways, I do find that I'm too old for this game. The game feels like it's for a younger generation. And I actually find it not quite as dramatic as the show. Of course the show was a show for kids. But it had it's moments of corniness and awesomeness. But thats not to say that I think that this game should be any other way then it is. Its a lot of fun.
There are times I'm whipping about in it, driving all over the place, almost losing control, but its fun! While there's a lot of melee combat, I'm very happy with the amount of firepower you can carry. And I'm digging the weapons too. Nothing as cool as the weapons in WFC or FoC but still fun as hell to use. And I do like some of the weapons and that you can upgrade them. If you like the Ratchet and Clank games you might like TFD.
I thought I would of gotten tired of the city since we saw so much of it in the trailer, but I haven't. In fact I like how you can travel around the map quite a bit. I do wish the Decepticons would regenerate form time to time to smash up rather then smashing up crates or other objects. And I also wish the music was better. I actually turned the music off and I never turn the music off in video games. If they had recreated the music from the show then I think I would have really felt like I was watching the show. But it's properly better that they updated the music.
I don't know how long I'll be playing this game but for now it's fun.

if a list of all the weapons come online please post it here. Properly too early to get a full list but still...

Know this is four years old and I remember reading this thread, but I actually was fortunate enough today to find a pre-owned copy at my local GameStop.
I have to agree the game is pretty freaking fun, graphics look awesome, and the story is pretty good so far. I actually don’t mind the music, I like that it’s different but still has the feel of the original show. May just be the younger audience perspective I suppose, but overall it’s pretty good. I much prefer melee so I like you have options and the different moves.
Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of the camera angling that goes on. It’s a pain in the skid plate to say the least, but then again I hardly play games like this one so it does take me a bit of trying to get use to.
Aside from this, I have pretty much relied the most on Sides because I like he’s maneuverable, his use of the different swords, and due to being a favorite character of mine. Plan to give Grim a go in the next chapter when I next give the game a whirl.

I actually just finished my first go a couple days ago. Overall definitely not bad, and loved all the small references and effort they did put into it.
I do wish there could have been more done with Nova, especially with the cliffhanger they left it on, but I guess it was suppose to be an acting prequel to stuff like Combiner Wars and such from what I hear. But, don’t quote me on that, I mostly hope that’s just speculation because the Combiner War webseries...YIKES!
