I have no connections with the original nor (Due to that reason) did I see the 90's film with Matt Le Blanc, so I'm going into this fresh. I imagine the original was very kitsch? (Like 70's Battlestar Galactica) due to the time it was made in.

I’ve never seen the original either but this actually looks pretty interesting. I may not be able to watch it right away but I may definitely look into this.
