There has been talk/rumours that the TF movies are headed to reboot land. I've posted a couple of links about it and one link that denies it. So if the rumours are true, what would you like to see? Pure G1 where the TFs look like the original toys, the Ark is smashed into the side of an volcano and it takes place in 1984? With all the 80 trends as of late that might make sense. Maybe a Beast Wars movie? link 1link 2link 3

Yeah, I made a little news artcicle about this on the website, basically there might not be another live action movie until 2020 - which I think is a good thing. It needs to reset, time for the dust to settle and new writers and a new director to look at it a fresh.
With a G1 look - for me it's a no. Even back in 2007 I don't think it'd worked, The main reason is we get so much G1-esq stuff these days whether it's the comics, the short machinima series, even elements of cartton series end up getting G1 esq at times. I also think it'd look kind of silly if they looked all blocky and stuck in the past, whist I wasn't fond of stuff like hands, feet and dangly arms in the TF moviees - I can see why it works to have them as more modern vehicles and more alien looking robots. In the end I feel 3/5 of the movies were decent or average but all of them had their flaws - the lack of continuity, character development (lack of), bring in said new characters and killing them off before we even get to know them. Even ratchet struck me in the first film but then became a glorified extra! Anoying humans (Personalities - not tem being in it), incoherent plots at times, silliness (Starscream's death) etc. ALL of them are flawed.
The only thing that's going to make them better is more - not what they look like, but how they are written, developed, plots, direction to fix these things. All the things the other current films were all-over-the-place with IMO.

Honestly, I heard they were going to go through with the reboot then suddenly they were back-peddling saying they weren't. But, if they did, The Bee Movie was suppose to be the start of the new series or it would start after that. Regardless, I agree with Hoist, it does need a reboot, a fresh start.
Overall, I liked most of the movies, mostly designs and some of the lore, but it definitely overall needed a serious clean up and a reboot would really help in the long run. And honestly, G1 theme or not, I just hope maybe it adds a little something different, just its own twist. Maybe draw a little something from past series and make its own unique story line, but most of all being consistent and getting that development.

It would be after the Bee movie, which itself is just a spin off stand-alone movie.

After, that was it.
Also, this may just be me, but I did like some of the music they had for the films. I'll at least give them that. XD

I think what we'll see if whatever were getting as toys. So if it's G1-ish then we'll get a G1 or G1 inspired movie. All I really want is a really good story and less focus on humans.
And I'd really dig a Beast Wars movie. I think with all the super hero movies were getting now a days something like BW would work. Plus it'll be really different from whats out there.
Can't see Armada, Energon, RID, Animated or Prime theme movies ever coming out. And if we saw anything thats IDW related I'd bet it'll be fully computer animated.

Know this hasn't been touched upon for a couple of months, but apparently it has been indeed announced that after the Bee movie that's coming out it will be the final movie of this franchise and the series will get a reboot after all.
