So, recently I found out that Chris McFeely ( transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Chris_McFeely) has started using his extensive knowledge of Transformers to make videos giving everyone a little bit more info on certain subjects in Transformers mythos. Subjects range from individual characters (Prowl, Shockwave, Cyclonus etc), to sub-factions (Insecticons, Predacons), technologies (Headmasters, Pretenders) and videos about the G1 cartoon, IDW's comics and Shattered Glass. If you're interested in watching and learning a bit more about various parts of the Transformers mythos, the full playlist is here.

I had seen this series on another TF forum, but I didn't know there was a Hoist one until just now! (Just finished watching!) They are well made and very informative.
For anyone new, I've always associated myself with this bot as long as I've been online. As a kid in a single parent (Divorced) family, I mostly had minibots as a kid, oh and Twintwist later for a Christmas present. Hoist however was my first regular sized bot after the minibots however bought by my father, We were estranged growing up because of the divorce so naturally I was over the moon when he got me my first regular sized TF and I came to idolize that toy - sitting behing the couch applying the decals, playing with it, nothing to do with the character though. So when I finally got online in 2001 and started looking up TF communities it was the natural choice as a user name, with a play on it at a very old UK TF forum (Transfans) as "HoistKeeper".
I never really thought about it at the time the name just formulated. Many years later I reasoned that maybe in the back of my head I was thinking (keeper of the Hoist)? Keeping that memory alive and those treasured times.

Do you still have your Hoist, Hoist?
My first TF was Brawn and I still have him, though he needs many repairs (Broken leg and claws)

Unfotunatley not, I have one of the encore/re-issue ones. When I was deemed "Too old" for my toys they were all given away, probably to a playroom in a local hospital. In retrospect I wish I'd fought for them - all my TFs and star wars figures and a few vehicles, all my matchbox cars a couple of A-Team figures and my only Thundercat figure - Mumm-Ra, my lego, M.U.S.C.L.E. MEN - all of it.

I have an encore Hoist too, it is a lovely figure with the tampo and the blue eyes.
