What can be said about the [glow=purple,2,300]"Decepticon City Commander"[/glow]
Well see i thought he was a cool charcater and might have been a bit better if he was portrayed better in the TV series rather than just a psychotic leader.
Ive only seen the show and G1 toy, never seen a comic ish. (I seriously have to get some older comics, or TPB's.)
I liked his voice in the movie but not in the show. i also thinks he looks cooler in the TV series than what he looks like in original TF comics.
I can't wait to see how DW are gonna play him. Will he be a seperate entity or will he be the reformated megatron, cause ive heard rumour bout either of those two possibilities.
has anyone got DW MTMTE entry for him? ive missed that ish and ish 1 as well.

Thats one thing that bugs me. Galvatron was a city commander and not leader. But on the other hand Megatron, Optimus Prime and even Rodimus Prime was named leader. Which if you think about it If Rodimus, Optimus and Megatron were leaders and Galvatron was city commander who was the real leader of the Decepticons if Galvatron wasn't a leader? Even Ultra Magnus was a leader for a short while before Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime took over. Another thing I don't understand is when Unicron is reactivated by Scouge and Starscream why didn't Unicron take over Galvatron again? Was it because Galvatron was crazy or what? I can understand Unicron taking control of Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps again because they wasn't crazy but Galvatron is another story.

Maybe Unicron was too weak in his bodiless state to control someone with the willpower of Galvatron and could only manipulate the idiotic Scourge?
As for the leader thing. I ignore the toy techspec roles to be honest. Some make no sense at all in compairosn to the cartoon or comic versions. I alwasy say it can be whatever you want it to be.
The toy itself itsnt all bad uts just a shame that such a major character didnt have a better toy. If it was a alesser character with that design it'd be fine.
I like that fact that the crown resemlbes Starscreams coronation one an without Galv's still retains a Megatron like bucket head.
Another quesyion: grey or purple, which is best?

[glow=blue,2,000]What I think happened, with the tech specs was...
Since it was Marvel comics writing and creating the tech specs, naming and renaming, creating personalities and so forth, that they had little insight to the what certain characters in the movie were really all about or what happened to them. They had screwed up on the year (2005/2006) in the comic due to lack of communication and last minute changes. So they came up with there own bios for them. Then as for the comic, since the movie came out before Galvy was seen in any TF comic book, they went with the concept from the movie, including Unicron.
Or....!
They gave them the City Commander rank not to give away anything that happened in the movie. And ignored the fact that Megs became Galvy.[/glow]

I like the purple version of galvy better.

Where did you check those out at. Because I checked out the international tech spec and it said that Optimus and Megatron was leaders. Ultra Magnus and Galvatron were city commanders and Rodimus was a protector and leader.

Anyway... I always preferred the grey/white Galvatron being a comic orientated Tf fan. The purple always seemed off to me. Since then though it has grown on me a lot and I think either colours look good. The greywhite is better for the Megs relation thing though. One of my favourite Galvatron stories is the annual one reprinted in Time Wars where they fight in the city. The (Later revealed) fake Megatron gives a good account of himself but this really sold me on Galvs being the no.1 bad ass with megs coming in at a solid no.2 after taking our Cyclonus effortlessly.

Galvatron to me was pretty cool, He was always tripping in the show and during the return of optimus prime he was at his best!! I enjoyed watching him and I still don't have his toy.Overall I rank him right under Megatron and starscream as my favorite Badguys!

Overall I prefer the orgiinal comic Galvy (Galv1 not Galv2) purely because the whole time jumping aspect culminating in Time Wars was so darned awesome.
My two lasting images are half his face being blown off and the battle with prime when he hallucianting in his madness.

Man I wiosh I could find the mamoth post the last time I explained this Basically the Galvatron in the comic in Target 2006, Fallen Angel, Time wars etc etc is Galvatron 1. He 'died' in the time paradox in Time wars climax effectively killing him forever. Since this eras Megatron was OOA (in a stasis tube aboard the Ark after being seperated from Ratchet) when Unicron approached CYbertron he sent three stooges into a alternate univewrse to recruit another Galvatron for his use. In this alternate Universe Uniucron had won , eaten Cybertropn and given Galvatron Earth as a thank you present. Just as he was bout to achieve total victory the three stooges came and captuired him before dissapearing and the Autobots managed to turn back the tide. Meanwhile this new Galvatron (Galv 2) was brought back to the 616 universe to be Uni's herald. He was referred to as Galvatron 2 in Furman's G2 conclusion fan book that was given away at Transfornce 2001/2002.
