Torque span around when he heard Smokescreen hit the side of the building. He expected to see Smokescreen pull himself up any time now. When Torque only saw his fingertips, he knew the jump hadn't gone as planned.
"Oh slag! Highstacker, gimme a hand here.!"
Torque rushed to the ledge and crouched down. He was just able to grab Smokescreen's free hand. Torque grunted as he started to pull his comrade up.
"This would be alot easier if I still had some spare energy, then I could just pull you through the wall." Torque then joked "I think you need to lay off the Energon Goodies."

OOC: Pushing it foward a long way... Nexus plucked Smokescreen from Torque's grip, and, muttering about how incompetent his comrades were, he dropped him on the roof next to Hightstacker. The troop moved on, following their guide all the way to a large, derelict building, with a sagging roof and crumbling walls. Highstacker executed a Rolling Derby down onto the roof, a beckoned the rest of the Autobots to follow. "The meeting hall is a massive dug-out below this building. The gaurds will let us in when I give them the password, but won't let anyone in after us." His expression turned grim. "This is it. Your last chance to back out. Impactor is planning something huge, that could turn the tide of the war, but if anything goes wrong, we're all dead. I've made my choice already. It's time for you to make yours.
Well, Autobots? Will you join Impactors plan, or do we part ways here?"[/b]

Perceptor stepped forward. [glow=red,2,]'Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character. I have set forth a personal effort to help end the madness that Megatron and his Decepticons have created, same as my friends and comrade who stand with me now. Turning away now, leaving the fight for someone else, would bring down the fortitude of the Autobot's fighting spirit. I am ready to step forward. So say we all.'[/glow]

The last thing Smokescreen wanted was to back out, not that he could say anything even if he wanted to. Perceptor's words fancy words were all well and dandy, but when it came to it, it would the grit of battle and the heat of the action that would decide their fate.

Torque listened to Perceptor's speech.
"I'd like to repeat Perceptor's speech, but simplify it down to two words. I'm in. I doubt any of us would have come this far if we weren't willing to follow it through to the end."

Nexus stepped forwards. "You can't have been seriously considering going on without my abilities, can you? My tactical expertise is the only thing that makes this group worthy of the title Autobot! And since I don't want your blood on my hands, I guess I'll have to drag myself along with you..."
Highstacker grinned broadly. "It's truly touching to hear that you're all so commited. Come on, my friends! To victory!" The messenger bot dropped through the roof, followed by the rest of the team. The gaurd stood quickly to attention, pointing their guns at them. He stepped forwards, keeping his rifle trained on Highstacker's forhead. He spoke in the husky voice of a grizzled vet, someone who had seen many battles. "The missile thrush swoops above your head. The darkening stars are still. What is your name?" Highstacker placed his hand over his Autobrand. "I am not seperate from the missile thrush, but one and the same. I am Airazor, guardian of light and air." The gaurd smiled. "Pass friend. You're the last today, Highstacker." He then turned, and scraped away at some twisted metal, revealing a large, badly cut door. He pulled it open. "Hop right in."

As Perceptor went to enter, he stopped at the door for a moment. [glow=red,2,]'Hmm, with a correct size of metallic material, and a horizontal gear mechanism and locking device, I could fashion your entrance with a brand new and functional door. The frame looks steady. The wear and tear isn't bad, and also...'[/glow]
Perceptor never finished as Smokescreen pushed him through the entrance before the guard lost their patiences with the science bot.

As Smokescreen pushed Perceptor through the door he placed a hand on Perceptor's shoulder, gaining the Autobots attention as his head turned to face him. The Autobot pointed to the region of his neck and then mimicked with a closed fist the use of a spanner as if to indicate not to forget about his vocal procesors. Let alone some old door..

Perceptor's absent mindedness had prevailed once again. [glow=red,2,] 'Oh! Forgive me Smokescreen. With all of today's excitement, I had forgotten about your predicament. There's really no excuse for it, here, allow me to repair your damaged vocal processor immediately!'[/glow] Perceptor wiped out his sonic screw driver and x-ray hammer and began to work on Smokescreen's vocal box. It would be finished in a matter of astro seconds*. (ooc: or by Hoist's next post, whatever comes first )

Smokescreen sat patiently, and still as Perceptor worked his magic. When it was finally done, he cricked his neck from side to side before rubbing it with his hand. As he returned is hand he went to speak, what came out was slightly rough and choppy, it had been many cycles since he last spoke..
"Finally! If we get through this perhaps you can build me a lighter body! Say - with spring jet boots with thermic-resistant plate armor?!" cheered the bot light-heartedly.

Torque hadn't been paying attention to what his comrades were doing. He'd been looking around the general area, trying to identify security risks. He was impressed, they'd covered just about everything. Torque spun around when he heard the new voice. He looked at pretty much everyone nearby before he realised the new voice belonged to Smokescreen.
"So that's what you sound like. I can't recall every hearing you speak before."
Torque looked around again.
"Highstacker, who is it we're here to see?"

Perceptor was quite pleased with the results he had just achived. [glow=red,2,]'If you so desire Smokescreen. Though I must say, even though a body made capable of jumping and leaping about for the sort of thing we just did, I must remind you that your current talents are very much valued and as with any upgrade, could be lost in the favor of a new ability.' To put it easier, I believe I can speak for all when I say that we like you the way you are.'[/glow]
He then leaned in closer to Smokescreen so that no one could hear him. [glow=red,2,]'Just remind me that if Nexus' vocals every fail him, not to put them at the top of my repair list.'[/glow]

Nexus scowled. "My audio receptors are not as dull as your cerebral cortex, Perceptor. If it were up to me, I'd take your pathetic insults and-" The guard put a protective hand between Nexus and the other Autobots. "Hey, knock it off! What's your problem?" He shook his head, leading the team down a corridor under the ground, which they could see lead down to another badly cut door. The guard turned to Perceptor. "Oh, and about that door- I wouldn't bother. If everything goes well with this plan, we're gonna be sipping energon martinis in Polyhex by the end of next solar cycle! "

Perceptor lost his cheery smile as his face took on the expression of concern. [glow=red,2,]'Indeed? What a curious prediction...'[/glow] Perceptor's mind began to work over time, trying to ponder what the guard meant exactly.

"Whatever it is we're going to do, it certainly sounds big. Also sounds like this location will be compromised by our actions. I have no problem with that, as long as everything goes according to plan."
