'Oh....my!' Upon hearing the news, Perceptor turned away to try and find his comrades. As he looked into the crowd, he swore he something odd with passing through the Autobots. He began to adjust his optics and transformed into his microscope mode. 'Ahh! Its Torque, in his ghost mode no doubt. Fascinating!'

Torque let go of Smokescreen as he deactivated his Ghost circuits. He had to lean against a wall for a moment, feeling slightly drained. He turned to Smokescreen.
"How was the trip?" He chuckled.
Torque looked over towards Perceptor.
"We'd better get over there, double-time."
With that, Torque started to make his way over to Perceptor.

Hellraiser, meanwhile, was living up to his name. Bellowing the tired and drowsy Autobots into line, he and his subordinates shoved rifles into their hands. As he screamed orders at them, Lightningrod was pulling his scientists and medics together for one final talk. He beckoned them away from Perceptor, whom he gave a reassuring smile, and huddled them together in what he thought was out of earshot. "Remember, my friends, we're here as aid ONLY. Do not get pulled into the fighting. If everything goes wrong, pulls together as many survivors as you can and make for... the special Colony." One of the older scientists raised an eyebrow. "Is that wise? That position's been out of bounds for years. Anything could have-" "A risk... I am willing to take, Brazier. Let's go!"

As Torque got closer, Perceptor transformed to greet him. 'One of these days Torque, I beg that you should allow me to have a look at your inner workings to see how exactly you are able to chance the density of your molecular structure to bypass solid matter and reform yourself. Its a remarkable talent, one worthy of study!' Clearly, Perceptor had forgotten what was going on around him at that precise moment as he was lost in the scientific phenomenon that was Torque's ghost power.

OOC: Welcome back, my exceedingly patient friends! And here... we... go... AGAIN!
...And with a great roar of engines, the Autobot resistance headed out. Smokescreen, Wormhole, Nexus and Torque headed out in a massive first wave of soldiers, led by Hellraiser. Highstacker and Perceptor, however, were kept back with a group of medics and scientists who were led by Lightningrod. Their job was to patch up any fighters who were taken down in battle, and, if necessary, enact Lightningrod's plan B. 1 cycle later... The army of bots were tired, running out of energy, and only just coming up to their destination. Hellraiser transformed, and held his hand up in a 'halt' signal. Any bravado he had previously shown was now replaced with cold sparked efficiency. "They should be just over that rise. This is it. At most, they'll be lightly equipped and awaiting reinforcements, and they'll have had a dent made in their force by my warriors. Get ready to charge." +++ Lightningrod turned to Perceptor. He team had also transformed, and were bringing up the rear of the small army. "Well, Perceptor. Are you ready to do whatever's necessary to preserve life here today? Even if that means abandoning your friends?"

Perceptor looked at Lightningrod. 'What do you mean by that exactly? Your statement is something of a contradiction, if I am to preserve life and yet abandon my friends, and considering the present situation, abandoning my friends may in fact mean I am allowing my friends to perish.'

Lightningrod rubbed his temples and inhaled through his teeth. "Look, Perceptor, I'll talk frank. You're the only member of your team who isn't with Hellraiser and his butchers, so you're almost definitely the only one who's going to survive this farce. Me and my team have designated a rendezvous point, higher up in the Sonic Canyons. We're going to collect as many survivors from the back of the first wave as we can, and then we're going to make a break for it. You're 'friends' are almost in the front ranks- so are you with us, and are you going to try and save who you can, or die a pointless death with these 'heroes'?" +++ Hellraiser's raised fist became a palm, and from their, he swung it forwards and and bellowed out. "ATTACK!!!" The first few ranks, including Smokescreen, Wormhole, Nexus and Torque, who had managed to stay together, charged over the lip of the hill... To the sight of Pit on Cybertron. Hundreds of seekers darted overhead. A mass of Decepticon footsoldiers were at the bottom of the hill. A very sobre Nexus' face was one of pure horror. "So... I suppose backup arrived a little sooner than expected."

Perceptor thought it was strange that Lightningrod would speak to him this way. Annoyed, he began, 'It seems you have decided to assume a lot of me and the outcome of this battle, and thus assume that I may act out in a certain way. If so, then what is the point of asking me your question? If your cpu is made up then any answer I provide would do little to convince you other wise. However, if your prediction comes true and after the survivors have been repaired at the rendezvous point, depending on the variables at that moment in time of where out force stands, the amount of other survivors or prisoners that exist and their importance to our cause, then yes, I would be prepared to die for them or any Autobot cause. Whether or not it is deemed pointless, only the passing of time and the collection of evidence would give it any definition. For example, if the Decepticon win this for good, all our efforts were ineffectually pointless except for our moral stand, which could be lost in time as history is written by the victors of war. But if the Autobots win, yet I perish from a random laser bolt to he head even before then the conflict was to begin, then it could be said their was no point to me here. But all that aside. I am only concerned with the present. Instruct me what to do and I shall perform as efficiently as I can.'

Lightningrod nodded grimly. He was happy that Perceptor had chosen to side with him instead of Hellraiser, as he felt he could use such a bot in the future. "Good. Stay close. Save who you can, and here's the rendezvous point." Passing a datapad to Perceptor, the science-bot saw a set of co-ordinates about a few clicks away. The position was unmistakeable... the location of the infamous Fort St Pyrotron. ~~~ Hellraiser grabbed the nearest soldier, which turned out to be Torque. Missiles and artillery pieces streaked overhead, and bots on all sides were taken down by streams of laser bolts. "YOU! TAKE A COUPLE OF OTHERS AND GET BACK TO THE REAR RANKS! GET THEM ON THE RETREAT, NOW! THEIR LIVES ARE IN YOUR HANDS! WE'LL CAUSE A DISTRACTION!" Drawing a hefty battleaxe from it's sheath on his back, Hellraiser rallied his personal guard and charged, more out of desperation than any sense of being able to turn the tide. Nearby, Wormhole was struck in the shoulder by a laser bolt. As he went to run, he was hit by a stray missile, enveloping him in flames and melting his armor down to a crisp. He was dead in seconds.

Perceptor transformed as the battle raged and after taking a quick yet memorizing look at the data Lightningrod presented him with.
With his microscope, he watched as the horror of war took over and the Autobots were moving back. 'Its a slaughter! I strongly suggest we get ready to Lightningrod.'
Dispite his words earlier, Perceptor looked around for his comrades in the battle taking place below.

Torque made good on Hellraiser's order, grabbing Smokescreen and Nexus and running for the rear ranks. "Run! The plan's gone sour! We need to get out of here!" Many could or chose not to here him, and charged on regardless. Among them was Highstacker, who was shouting and grinning along with the rest. For a moment, he made eye contact with Smokescreen, before a seeker's rocket took him off his feet. He guttered, smoked... and was no more. +++ Lightningrod nodded. "I can see a group retreating towards us. You're right- grab any survivors your can and ru-" Lightningrod's eyes widened as he saw something behind Perceptor, and indistinctly pushed him to one side. Perceptor would only get a glimpse of the mortar shell that struck his new friend, before he was enveloped in green flame and dissipated from sight...

Torque was struggling to push his way towards the rear of the group.
+++COMM+++ "Perceptor! You there?! Me, Nexus and Smokescreen are heading back to your position! Hellraiser gave us the order to retreat while the rest of them cause a distraction! +++COMM+++

'By Iacon's Dome! Lightningrod!' Perceptor got his wits back together fast as soon as he heard Torque's voice on his communication device. While transforming he answered back.
+++COM+++ 'I hear you Torque! Home in on my signal and hurry!' +++COM+++
Not wasting anymore time, Perceptor began to lead those left in the group. As he activated a signal beacon on his communication device, he drew his blaster and got ready to laid down any cover fire when nessasary. 'Move like you have a purpose Autobots! Let us not allow the death's of our brothers to be for nothing!'

Smokecreen continued to retreat with Nexus and Torque, weapons drawing shooting at any enemy that moved. "That's for Highstacker!", growled the Autobot out loud. "Remind us again why we came here and decided to stay with these loonies?!"

Torque laughed as he stopped briefly to provide covering fire.
"Smokescreen, you should know why we're here! We're just as made and we love a good scrap with the 'Cons!"
With that, he turned and continued his retreat.
