In a desolate rocky area of yellow-brown granite and barren land, Grunt's pod hit the ground with an almighty crack as it landed on the solid ground and ricocheted off the ground before tumbling along some more dangerously close to a river nearby. The pod cracked slightly as as it finally settled the safety warning light flickered constantly: red - green - red - green
Knowing he couldn't stay in there forever he would have to venture out evenutally...

Grunt pushed the capsule open with both arms above his head and crawled out of the stasis pod to a bleak and unwelcoming desolate piece of land. In the distance, towards the coast and a strange shaped island some local wildlife grazed lazily. Grunt zoomed in with his optics and saw they were great wooly/furry bull like beasts with unusual horns.
Without warning his internal diagnostics system actived,
+++ Internal Repair System +++
WARNING! High Energon counts! Overload in 3 mega-cycles! Transform to alternate mode immediately!
+++ Internal Repair System ++
Grunt doubled up in pain as an electrical field flickered all over his body. After a few moment he looked round, knowing he'd have to take the form something and quick. looking around there wasn't much, except some old bones buried in the dirt and those grazing beasts in the distance. In various places he also fiently saw thin trails of smoke where some of the others had landed, butupon countain these rising clouds of smoke it was not all of them, not that was in visible sight at least..

Reaper was impressed with his new alt mode. He'd covered the distance he'd just travelled in almost half the time it would have taken him in his old alt mode. He still had a fair way to go before he reached the crashed espace pod. Reaper tried to contact the inhabitant over the COMM, but all he got was static. Reaper didn't know if that was because of the high levels of Energon, or because there was no-one on the ground to contact.
Reaper continued flying towards the escape pod. He didn't like the feel of this planet. So far nothing had gone right since they entered orbit.

'Grunt, Transform!'
The Cybertronian quickly transformed into his alternative form of a six wheeled terrain vehicle, designed by the Autobot scientists to be a rapid attack truck for infantry. The pain all over his body disappeared however, the headache he often suffered kicked in, making him grumpy and unfocused. 'Autobot science can create a six-alternative mode warrior but they can't figure out why I get cybernetic brain pains, I tell ya, priorities are slagged up!'
Grunt began to scan the area. He scanned the bones infront of him and his internal cpu began to run through various combinations that the bones could form when it was a living beast. He then began to roll over to the creatures he saw in the distance, carefully not to spook them. After a few minutes of scanning the beasts, he found them to be strange and ugly looking. 'Bah! Not like I got to impress anyone round these parts.'
As he body began to readjust to take on the new form, Grunt cursed Noble for charging him with taking care of the others. 'Damn commander! Putting me in charge of this ragtag bunch. Half rookie the other half full of themselves. Who cares about the slaggin' ship, damn thing was fraked anyway.'
Grunt decided that if the commander survived the crash, he would have to have a word with him during one of there card games. For now, he decided he would have to head for the nearest trail of smoke that was rising in the air.

Reaper reached the crashed escape pod. There was no-one around, but there were some tracks leading away from the pod. Reaper set off and followed the tracks. Eventually he found the cause of the tracks, albeit in a new body. While Reaper didn't recognise the body, he did recognise the voice. Reaper flew closer and landed behind his comrade.
"So, am I a rookie, or full of myself?"

Startled upon hearing a voice behind him, Grunt whipped around as as fast as his new body would allow, trying to smash whoever it was behind him.

Reaper had transformed moments before Grunt took a swing at him. Reaper dived to his left and rolled. He narrowly missed being hit. Reaper rolled up onto his feet and held up both of his hands.
"Woah. Easy big guy. Remind me never to sneak up on you again."

Grunt halted his attack when he hear the voice of his friend. 'Reaper? Damn it robot! Are you suicidal trying a half-witted stunt like that? We've been shot down and you want to play hide and seeker? Remember your training rookie!'
Grunt turned around and began to stomp off. He was feeling a mix of embarrassment and anger. He didn't like getting snuck up on and he was also mad that Reaper should know better then that. Grunt knew he was being hard on the young Cybertronian, but Reaper was a special ops agent and had all the best training available. Grunt just hoped that he didn't judge Reaper wrong and that the Cybertronian was actually a hot shot.
'Lets get a move on!'

Reaper didn't blame Grunt for reacting the way he did. He would have reacted exactly the same way.
"Oh, I remember my training. If I didn't, you would have hit me." Reaper then quickly added, "But you're right, need to be more careful in future."
Reaper transformed and took to the skies. He stayed within COMM range of Grunt, however. Something was troubling Reaper. He had a weird feeling in his circuits, and he knew to trust that feeling.
"You think that thing that shot us down was what the distress call was about? Or did we just walk into a trap?"

'A bit of the same thing. You see anything? I wanted to scope the area before radioing the others.'

Reaper sighed.
"I knew you'd say that. I just knew you'd say that. I touched down on the edge of a forest, and after getting my new alt mode, I flew over to a nearby city. Completely abandonned. From there, I spotted two plumes of smoke, one here and one deeper into the forest. I chose to come over here because it was much closer."
Reaper climbed higher in an attempt to see any of the other plumes of smoke he had seen earlier.

The only plume of smoke Reaper could see now was the vastly fading plume from just outside the forest, still a long way away, and that of a small settlement that was nearer by.
OOC: settlement would be the graveyard.

Reaper was too high above Grunt to actually speak to him when he spotted the plume of smoke.
+++COMM to Grunt+++
"I've spotted another plume of smoke. It's fading fast, but it's near to a settlement though, so it should be easy enough to find."

'All right, lets make it happen. Wait for me to catch up before getting too close.' In the direction of the smoke, Grunt began to double time it as fast as he could in his new form.

OOC: Continue in the Graveyard thread when ready (As it'll help Onix), but you'll be on the outskirts when you get there.
