Ch1: THE SECRET OF CYBERTRON [Decepticons]

When the other two Decepticons were fighting each other, it gave Steeler plenty of time to get his axe back up for another swing. As he drew it back, Bomblast came at him. He swung the axe and it met with Bomblast's morningstar. Bomblast stumbled back ward's from Steele's strength and the weight of the axe, allowing the bigger opponent to move in.

'I have you now fool!' Said Steeler as he drew his axe back, concentrating on Bomblast and not seeing Powersurge coming in from his blindside.

[Bomblast]

Powersurge saw a chance to attack as Steeler raised his axe to attack Bomblast. Still sprinting, he dived forwards and lashed out with his blade, aiming at Steeler's legs.

Bomblast retracted his weapon and attempted to dive out of the way of Steeler's axe.

The moment Megatron announced the leadership-by-combat, Retractor bowed his head and backed slightly away. He didn't want anyone to think he was making a claim for the Team Commander position.

[Neo Calrissian]

For a few moments, Tormentor serously considered entering the fight. Though the mission sounded insane, he was itching to kill again, yearning for the thrill of the hunt, and if he was in charge, no one would question his actions again. Charging his drain ability, he nearly dived in- but, with a sigh, he stepped back. He turned to the nearest bot, Retractor. He smiled a strange, spacey smile, and spoke in a uncharacteristically high voice.
"Leadership is the art of making someone do something because they want to do it.
Black creatures... he wants to move a planet! You can´t move a planet..."

[Hoist]

Torquemada watched in splended delight as the warriors bickered and fought for their leadership, but couldn't help himself when he heard Tormentor. "What do you know?! I thought your limitations were kill, kill or be killed!", commented the Decepticon crossing his arms.

"And this is all very amusing but we do still have work to do! Moving a planet, collecting empties, so hurry up and one of you claim leashipo before we all die of rust contamination!"

[Onix Solo]

Onix walked away from the fight. He had no interest in leading, and less in watching the fight. He didn't become a Decepticon because of his thirst for killing or because be believed in the cause. No, it was only because of the spoils. He had no intent on moving up Decepticon ranks. It is easier to go unnoticed at the bottom. He waited near an exit for the mission to begin.

[Highram]

After grinning at the scene in a way that a father might do to see his children happily playing catch, Sidewinder relaxed his faceplate into a neutral expression and looked over at Onix. Everything he seemed to have done so far was not of the usual Decepticon behaviour and this greatly intrigued him. He decided he would keep an eye on Onix as he had a good feeling about him. Retractor also had an air about him that Sidewinder apporved of.

"Steeler! Were you made that slow and clumbsy or is it your inflated ego that weighs you down so!?" Sidewinder jeered distractingly

'RAAARGH!' Yelled Steeler as Powersurge's blade slashed the back of his legs. The brute's axe fell from his hands from the shock but not his shield, which he used to defend himself as he tried to reclaim his weapon.

Sunreaper watched as Steeler stumbled around and then noticed Onix Major leaving the match. This one isn't here for Megatron's cause he thought to himself. Accessing the others, Sunreaper was beginning to see that their were only a few he could trust.

[Bomblast]

Bomblast saw his chance and deployed his Morningstar again. He swung it a could of times before bringing it down hard on Steeler's hand as the Brute reached for his weapon. He pulled his weapon back quickly and began raining down blows against Steeler's shield as he tried to protect himself.

Powersurge was glad of the distraction provided by Bomblast. He was able to slip around behind Steeler and ran at him. He jumped and managed to grab onto Steeler's back and climbed up to the point where his power supply was located. Powersurge just managed to grip onto Steeler with one hand as he deployed the blade from his right hand. He drew his arm back and plunged the blade into the power supply. Powersurge wrenched the blade free and thrust it back into Steeler's power supply. He continued stabbing away at the Brute's back, burying his blade deep, then pulling it free.

Bomblast saw Steeler's shield move, but not noticing Powersurge. With an open shot, Bomblast swung his weapon with all his strength. It connected with Steeler's chest, knocking the brute over. Powersurge was just barely able to get away from Steeler as he crashed to the floor. He got to his feet, Energon dripping from his blade and he glared at Bomblast.

"Hey! Watch it! Could have taken me out as well!" He shouted at Bomblast.

"HAHAHAHA! I think I just might!" Bomblast shrieked as he began to charge at the Seeker.

Bomblast raised his weapon and went to bring it crashing down on Powersurge. Powersurge cursed and rolled out of the way, feeling Bomblast's weapon displace the air where he was. Powersurge rolled a couple of times before landing on his feet, jumping into the air and transforming.

Powersurge took off and flew directly at Bomblast. In a display of aerial agility, he pulled up at the last moment and flew straight up. Bomblast could only shout and use foul language as Powersurge circled above. He went into a dive and transformed. He plunged at Bomblast feet first again.

Bomblast laughed as Powersurge attempted something he'd done early and went to grab the Seeker's legs again. Except this time, Bomblast missed. Powersurge drove his feet squarely into Bomblast's jaw. Bomblast recoiled from the impact and fell over backwards. Powersurge quickly climbed on top of Bomblast and pointed his blade at Bomblast's throat.

At this point, Bomblast did something completely unexpected. He laughed.

"Ease up, Seeker. You can have the leadership. Never wanted it in the first place, only wanted a scrap with Steeler." He chuckled.

Powersurge was dumb-struck. He retracted his blade and started to move away, before quickly driving his fist into Bomblast's face.

"Could have said so after I took out Steeler, instead of attacking me." He grunted.

Powersurge stood and walked into the middle of the group and looked around as Bomblast got to his feet.

As Powersurge was congradulated by the rest of the Decepticons, Onix Major recieved a visit from Starscream. 'Interesting. Surely you could have demanded more payment from Megatron if you had taken the role of leadership Onix. Or is it you have another agenda?'

Soundwave and Shockwave both moved in on the fallen Brute to see if he was truly dead. 'Careful Soundwave, his energon pack did not ignite. The one known as Steeler could still be very functional. Proceed with cau...'

Before Shockwave could finish his sentence, Steeler had grabbed Soundwave and threw him away a few feet. Shockwave transformed to evade the Brute as Steeler go up to rush Powersurge and the group of Decepticons that surrounded him. 'You! All of you die!'

The group watched in shock as Steeler actually jumped up and was about to come down on them, when a purple laserbolt sent the Brute crashing to the floor. Upon impact, Steeler's body exploded.

The blast came from none other then Megatron. The Decepticon leader walked over to Powersurge and the two stood face to face. 'Congradulations team captain. I'm sure you'll make a fine leader, so long as you learn how to kill your opponents properly!'

[Bomblast]

Powersurge bowed, not taking his optics off Megatron.

"As you wish, Lord Megatron. I merely thought Steeler would make a good addition to the team."

[Onix Solo]

Onix stood against a wall and looked past Starscream at the new leader of the group then looked Starscream in the optics

"You know as swell as I do that Megatron considers the role of leadership more than enough payment for his 'loyal' Decepticon. Leading gets me nothing unless I fail, and then I get a hole where my spark chamber is supposed to be."

'One of the first things to know when leader, is who is valuable and who is expendable! Clearly Steeler lacks a certain quality that made him even an effective soldier. Learn fast Powersurge, and be watchful for any pretenders to the throne.'

Megatron looked at Starscream only for a moment as he finished his statement. The Seeker was finishing with Onix Major just as Megatron was getting ready to send out the Decepticons on their first mission. 'I see your ambition is only as limited as the credits Megatron pays you. Perhaps you'll be useful... in another way, hehe!'

Megatron then raised his hand for silence. 'Now my Decepticons, go forth! And claim that which is mine and bring it to me! Let no Autobot stop you, let none defy you. For this is my will, and what Megatron wants, you shall deliver to him!'

With a mighty yell and with fists raised in the air, the newly formed group of misfits Decepticons were let loose on their first mission.
