MISSION DESIGNATION: “BUYER BEWARE”
MISSION LOCATION: Iacon Trade Depot; a vast, domed section of the slums, a pantheon of commerce, merchants and trade. If you can’t buy it here, you can’t buy it on Cybertron. However, in recent months, it has become a hub of Decepticon propaganda, and Straxus’ goons have appropriated many of the shops and stores for their own purposes, leaving hundreds jobless.
MISSION TYPE: RECRUITMENT
MISSION TARGET: Redline, a special operative and assassin. He has been seen trawling the bars of the Trade Depot, attempting to get in touch with the re-organised resistance in Iacon.
MISSION NOTES: The area operatives will be active in is known to contain several undercover Decepticon agents. Operatives are advised to keep aware of any suspicious individuals to prevent detection.

In a secluded back alley of the Trade Depot, a manhole cover grated and screeched as it turned slowly and was slid to the side, revealing a dark tunnel beneath. From the blackness emerged Safecharm, dusting himself off and reaching back into the tunnel, pulling out Torque, also covered in the dust and grime of the Autobot underground tunnel network. Looking up at the glass domed slender of this huge market, Safecharm’s smile fell as he saw a fifty-foot wide billboard looming across the skyline. VOTE FOR STRAXUS FOR MAYOR OF IACON!!! THE BOT WHO BEAT THE AUTOBOTS!!! He sighed as he looked around, listening out for any whispered words or quiet gossip, anything that could help locate Redline. Turning to Torque, he spoke to him quietly as he could. “I’ve been to this place before. If we’re looking for bars, I think we’re best off starting close to the central square, about five clicks from here. Come on- let’s get out of here. I can’t look at that billboard anymore.”
+++
Just across from a large crystal fountain in the central square, the oldest spot in the entire depot, Redline sat in the Straxus Bar, a sponsored bar frequented by Decepticon ‘peacekeepers’. The bartender returned to where he was sat, picking up his glass and giving it a quick wipe with a filthy rag. “You wanting for a reload, mister? How ‘bout somethin’ stronger? Mebbe somethin’ that’ll actually mount up to more that three credits on yer tab without drinking me dry…”

Torque nodded gravely and followed Safecharm. He glared at the poster of Straxus, but turned his gaze. Before setting out, he had covered up his Autobot insignia, hoping it would make him look neutral.
"Which bar should we check out first? Or do you wanna split up and cover more ground?"
Torque didn't particularly want to split up, there was too much chance of running into hostile forces.

Redline looked up at the bartender and shook his head
"Just fill me up on what I've been drinking."
Redline scanned the crowd. His spec ops training firing off in his head. Since he had been here he had categorized the people in the bar into categories of threat and liability. He had picked out his best escape route if things got hairy, and the best vantage points into the bar from the other side of the way. He'd been here many times though, and every time he had compiled the same data. He started to wonder if it was a bad habit from a time past that has now slipped through his hands. He stared at a poster of the glorious Straxus hanging in the bar and just sighed.

Safecharm shook his head. "Stick together, I reckon. Don't want to get picked off by undercover Decepticons. As for the bar... depends what kinda guy you think this Redline mech is. If he's some kinda bum who's given up on us, I reckon he'll hit the seediest bar he can- just hide away, yaknow? But if he's still tryin' ta fight, then I reckon we should hit the appropriated bars- seems like the perfect place to get the word on what's going on. Where dy'a wanna check first?" +++ The barman grumbled and filled Redline's glass again. "Fair enough, mister. I must say- you ain't like ma regular cly-en-tell. Mostly Lord Straxus' mechs in here, grabbing a drink between shifts. Moody young fellas like you? Nah. They mostly end up in that swanky place across the street, with their energon cocktails and their deep thoughts, staring off into space..." The barman snickered and walked away. Unbeknownst to Redline, two peacekeepers had spotted him and were starting to be suspicious of him. Already they were debating whether or not to call in reinforcements...

Redline lifted his glass to the bartender in thanks as he walked away from him. Redline took a drink and then sat his glass down. He pulled out a cy-gar, light it up and took a smoke. He didn't like wasting them, he didn't have many left from prewar but today wasn't his day. He had been trying to connect with the resistance ever since things went haywire with operation pluageswarm. On top of that, he still searched for his missing brother. That was one of the reasons he chose this place. It was a place to find people if they were to be found.

Torque grinned and nudged Safecharm with his elbow.
"I say we check out somewhere with a few of Straxus's crew. From the sounds of it, this mech isn't going to be too pleased with them."
He looked around and spotted a place called Staxus Bar.
"I'd say that would be a pretty good place to look."

Safecharm nodded. "Sounds good. Let's go- we should see him as soon as we get in there, if he is in there." As the pair moved into the Straxus Bar, two thickset peacekeepers were whispering among themselves... +++ More audibly than before, the two Decepticons in the bar were still conversing. "That's it- this guy's giving me the creeps. I'm calling for backup." He activated a commlink and began to murmur codewords into it. The other moved to the door, clocking Torque and Safecharm as they walked past and into the bar.

Torque looked around the bar, giving the pretence of looking for a seat. Actually, he was looking for Redline and security.
+++COMM to Safecharm+++ "Looks like we might have some trouble here. Those 'peacekeepers' don't look too friendly. There were a couple not too far from where we were, safe to say they probably followed us. Any sign of Redline?" +++COMM+++

Redline was nothing if not situationally aware. He watched the two new mechs walk in. He'd not seen them around before, and this bar had it's reputations to keep people away. It is why he liked this bar, the oddities stand out. He saw the peacekeepers moving to the door and the warning signs went off in his head. He made no indication, however, that he was aware of any of it.

Safecharm gestured towards Redline, sat at the bar with a half-full glass. He'd noticed the whispering peacemakers, the bot at the table with a comm, the mech covering the door, and it didn't take a genius to realize that they were in danger. "That's him. Something's not right- we need to speed this up." Beckoning to Torque to stay close, he walked towards the assassin at the table, and sat down next to him. He ordered a drink with a wave of his hand, and spoke quietly into Redline's audio receptor. "Stay calm. We're Autobots. We're going to get you out of here, but the peacemakers are getting jumpy, and we're going to have to move fast." He turned to Torque, and exchanged looks. He needed the security bot to do what he did best, and spot any of Straxus's soldiers who where on their way. He looked back at Redline. "You ready?"

Torque looked around, setting an expression on his face that said he was looking for more friends.
+++COMM to Safecharm and Redline+++ "I'm always ready. I'll lead the way out, Safecharm, you bring up the rear. Between the two of us, we should be able to protect Redline. It will also give Redline a chance to get off a couple of well aimed shots at a distracted 'peacekeeper' should anything happen. Primus, I hate that they're using that term." +++COMM+++

Redline looked over the two Bots next to him.
"You will have to move fast for two reasons. One, because of those wonderful peacekeepers, and two, because I'm moving faster. I'll sort out who you are after that if you keep up with me, but I'm not trusting two guys that walk in claiming to be Autobots just on their word."
Redline stood up from the table and dusted off. He threw down some credits for his tab and looked around the bar.
"Gentlemen, if you wish, follow"
He started walking toward the door

Safecharm nodded to Torque. "As you command." The trio left the bar quickly, following Torque's formation. As they left the bar however, it soon became apparent that they had slipped up. The square was now completely empty, apart from at least twenty peacekeepers were visible around the square, five covering each of the main streets leading out of the area. In the street opposite them, one Decepticon, presumably the captain, was holding a megaphone. "ATTENTION! YOU THREE! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE TRANNIS ACT! DROP ANY CONSEALED WEAPONS, GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEADS!" All of peacekeepers were brandishing L-30 PROWLs, trained on the Straxus Bar. Safecharm turned his head slowly to Torque and Redline. "...Any ideas?"

Redline looked around at all the Peacekeepers.
"The bar has to have an exit in the back, and a way to the roof. We could use them as options of escape, and they will have to funnel into a smaller area, giving us an advantage. I guess I find out if you really are as you say you are."

Torque nodded, his face grim.
"You two go inside first. I'm for more durable thgan either of you, so I can cover you. Just watch out for the 'peacekeepers' inside. And try not to catch any civillians in the crossfire, if there is any."
