what?
I was saying that the writing for animated was pretty much at par with the writing for beast wars (and the animated episodes that were written by the beast wars guys were superb). both shows episodes worked well on their own not requiring you to have seen the last, but also carry an overall plot. They both have spectacular character development, fleshing out characters so you truly know who they are unlike the last several series.

[glow=blue,2,]I know that, but compared to the writing in the comics, of the past and present, what do you think?[/glow]

And of course you can compare the quality of a story between the two mediums. The old Robotech anime was full of drama, action and lots of mature themes and character development. Such as many comics. Episodes or chapters can be spread over a great deal of time to encompass a great deal of story telling. And both mediums can cater to a wide range of audiences. [/glow]

I watched only one episode the Halloween one. I looked at Optimus Prime and thought body builder robot? They made the greatest Autobot leader ever into a body builder? That is so bloody heck wrong. I was turned off by the designs. If they wanted new viewers with the movie coming out, they would have kept them like what the G1 version was like. Now that was good, the Autobots all looked good and not like some kind of weird alien robotic body builders.
And truthfully, they looked like body builders all of them. The storyline was from the lone episode I saw was not that good.

Well for saying its too childlish and Kiddie, its a kids show on a kids Channel, Nicktoons (well here in the UK). Its pretty good, but I dont really like Optimus' design in it.

[glow=blue,2,]I like a lot of the style of the characters but I share the dislike for OPs design. It just looks wrapped. I've seen the toy and I think I appreciate it more when seeing it in reality. Over all, my only real complaint is the lips on so many TFs.[/glow]

I've noticed how the people who are most vocal about the dislike of the character designs haven't given the show as a whole enough attention. If we're going to bash animation, people need to remember that G1 had it's fair share of bad animation (B.O.T and Carnage in C Minor to name a couple).
The thing I disliked to start off with with the chins, but like the rest of the character designs, I didn't notice it as much as time went on. It even added to some characters, such as The Tick Sentinel Prime.

Aside from the honking great chin. But as I said in my last post, some of the characters wouldn't have looked right without one.

I got past the chins. They, along with many other aspects, helped make every transformer distinguished.
now that I have looked back on this thread, Where you talking about the animated comics EL7?
