I know, I know - i expect most of the fandom love them, ones like the latest - Leader class Thundercracker, but do we actually need leader class seekers?
In comparison to the sizing of other bots? There's also some details that bother me to be honest, the grid like structure underneath the wings (Really not needed - looks ugly), the faux seeker cockpit chest, the love it-or-hate-it big plane kibble on the back of the robot mode. Okay that one all hangs nicely but he basically has a plane on his back, the hollow leg syndrome - although that has been a case with many a line over the years. I just don't think we need leader size seekers IMO. I dunno, maybe I'm being too picky, but whilst most are cooing and awing over Leader class TC, I'm just not feeling it.

Personally I really like this figure. I think he looks bad ass, well balanced in terms of not being too fat or bulky. Thundercracker looks like a proper war machine. He's armed to the teeth and looks strong. As for the cockpit chest I see what you mean but I like how it looks. I'd just pretend it was a cockpit shield for the window. As for the plane on the back I think it looks cool. As for the grid under the wing it doesn't bother me, if I was a kid I would pretend it was his radar dish. What I don't like is the writing on the underside of the wing under the girds. Bad place to put it as it takes away from the model. As for size, I'd take this toy at almost any size. Though I'd could go with smaller.

The Jetfire mold is really good, and I'm digging the Thundercracker remold. I'm not sure if I am getting him. It will really all come down to whether or not Skywarp and Starscream is more than a rumor.
As for the quirks with the mold, I have never been one that insists that any window or cockpit must be the windows or cockpit in vehicle mode. Sometimes it is worth having a better toy at the sake of windows ending up in the right spot in robot and vehicle mode. This is a good use of a mold that has very few other options to be made into.

The cockpit chest or faux one is a minor one though compared to the horrid grid pattern on the wings undersides - that's my biggest gripe. The re-paint in Starscream colors is coming as well. The only Leader class seeker mold I personally think we need was if it was an underbase Starcscream reference, otherwise it's doing it for the sake of doing it. I guess it's a "Fan pleaser" more than anything.

That's just toys now, though. If the wings were solid chunks, they'd be thinner to use the same amount of plastic, and in 10 years from now, none of these would have wings.
The leader class Jetfire mold pulls on the IDW Seeker design well.

To be honest I'm not sure I would have noticed the grid under the wings if you didn't mention it Hoist.
