How do you deal with writers block?
I fine that if I at least torture myself and force myself to write something, no matter how bad, I can get through it.
Yesterday was bad though. I was so lethargic all I could so was edit the story I'm working on. And then to help get the juices flowing I watched some netflix. Season 2 of the Musketeers is out and I dig that show!
So I didn't get to work on my story but the Musketeers did inspire some new characters. And today I've been full steam ahead!!
So what do you do, if you do anything, to get rid of writers block?

I do find also that some nice gritty dramas help stimulate the brain, my problem is after having the initial idea - I have problems developing them.

Normally, I would go away from it for a bit and work on something then come back after a few days. Or, just force myself to write then read over what I wrote, fix things here and there, and that was it.
Now...I got nothing. Got some stories I want to work on but lost my writing muse in the middle of last year and have had a difficult time writing since then, for post not as much but stories I find myself staring at a partly done chapter and coming up empty.

Music. I blast my entire music collection on random and usually something pops up that just makes me go "AHA!". Once that happens, I tend to listen to that one song on repeat until I've finished writing what needed writing.
Seriously, you have no idea how many times I listened to Indestructible by Disturbed when I was creating Roadtrain. Constantly for a good couple of hours.

I do music as well. In fact I have a list of songs just for cases like that to listen to and get inspired. If that doesn't work, I take a break from the story for a few days at most. Otherwise, it becomes a habit and then it is really hard to go back to the story. If need be, I grab one of my fun but not so serious story projects and work on those for a little bit. Dramas don't work so well for me because even though they can be inspiring, they are really really easy for me to use as procrastination (oh, just one more episode!).
But in the end, sometimes I just have to sit down and make myself write through that block, pound it to pieces with words. With music of course, to help drown out that part that likes to point out that I'm doing it all wrong.
