When Torque phased through the corner, he saw nothing. The stricken figure he had seen before had vanished into thin air, possibly simply a figment of the security guard's imagination- but when Smokescreen turned up his lights, it seemed only to get darker... Down in engineering, Brazier heard a scream. Signaling two of his scientists, he ran down the steps to the bottom floor and saw the man he had sent down, lying in the center of the room... and on the edge. He had been cleaved in two. Oil trickled from his cold, dead mouth. Optics widening in horror, Rook commed security. ++COMM-DESIGNATE.SECURITY.OFFICERS++ Security! We have a man dead on level thirteen! ...Something's down here... +++END COMM+++

Torque cancelled his Ghost ability.
"False alarm. My optics must be playing tricks on me. I think we're all a little highly strung at the moment."
He made his way back over to his friends when he heard the COMM message from Rook.
"Slag it! You two, with me. Level 13, someone's dead."
+++COMM to Rook+++ "This is Torque, on my way down. I'm bringing Smokescreen and Perceptor with me." +++COMM+++
As Torque lead the way to Level Thirteen, he couldn't help but wonder if he had seen what he thought he had. Could his optics be playing tricks on him? Or was it possible he wasn't the only one in the complex that had a Ghost ability?

Perceptor thought it best to compare notes now as he ran with his friends. 'Something is not right here. First rumbling, strange sights and now this. Add Smokescreen's observation of the lights and I may have heard a strange buzzing in my audios. I fear something sinister is a foot here my fellow Autobots!'

"Maybe it was just an industrial accident, y'know, things happen!", voiced Smokescreen as he ran, trying to be optimistic "That said, what do we truley know about this base..."

"if it was an accident then where is the victim?' Asked Perceptor. But Smokescreen had a point, they didn't know a lot about the old fort. It was time for history lesson thought Perceptor.

"I don't believe it was an accident. In the COMM message Rook sent to all security personel, he added 'something's down here'. Don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like an accident to me."

The trio made to the elevator at the same time as three other bots. Two, they wouldn't recognise, but one was instantly familiar... Safecharm, from the bunker under AA-233. He grinned. "Well, well. Long time no see, comrades. We should get down there." +++ When they came out of the lift, the whole science crew was surrounding the halves of the dead engineer. Brazier ran up to them and started babbling. "Thank Primus you're here! It was horrible- one minute I sent him down to check on-" HHHHHREEEEEYAAAAAAAR!!! A sudden, guttural roar was heard by every Autobot, through every corner of the base. Safecharm instinctively pulled out his handgun and activated his foglight. "We got trouble."

Perceptor pulled out his blaster but was focused on the dead body of the Cybertronian before, inspecting it for any details that could explain his death further then the obvious.

Torque spun in the direction of the roar and drew his Ion Blaster.
"What in The Pit was that?!"
He relaxed slightly, but kept his weapon at hand. He turned towards Brazier and Safecharm.
"Have there been any strange reading in this place? Shortly before I got Rook's COMM message, the three of us noticed some strange things. I thought I saw and heard a body being dragged away, Perceptor started picking up strange noises and Smokescreen noticed everything getting darker, more so after trying to light the place up some more."

HHHHHREEEEEYAAAAAAAR!!! Suddenly, out of nowhere, what could've been a hand, a tentacle, a claw, or something else entirely, appeared from the shadows and grabbed one of Safecharm's men by the throat. He gurgled for a moment, before his head came clean of his shoulders, and he stirred no more. Each bot turned in a different direction to see similar appendages coming at them from all sides- and through the darkness, huge, red eyes...

Making a quick decision, Perceptor raised his blaster at a tenticle and lowered his shoulder canon at the red eyes. He fired both at the same time hoping to score a direct hit.

Smokescreen instinctively grabbed his blaster but already knew that there chances slim. "Hey Perceptor, what are the odds of surviving this?!", mocked the bot, "Nevermind, right now I seem to have lost any witty resides on the situation.."

Torque opened fire with his Ion Disruptor on the glowing red eyes. He remained mindful of the attacking appendages, very careful not to let one get a hold of him, not after what happened to one of Safecharm's mechs.

As the team began blasting away at the arms and eyes of this new threat, the arms retracted. For a moment, it seemed like the Autobots had won. Then, with an almighty scream, the red lights in the shadows intensified, and a shock wave hit out , ripping Safecharm's second man, who was closer, in two at the knees. The rest were knocked off their feet, just in time to realize that the real threat was above them. It looked like the huge, armored carapace of a mecha spider. More red eyes dotted it's underside, which proceeded to open up and reveal it's greatest threat: a potent toxin launcher under it's shell. Without a moment's hesitation, the stricken Safecharm began firing. "Quickly! Take it out before it's charged!"

Perceptor ran for the Autobot whose legs had been badly damaged. 'Smokescreen cover me! I'm going for our fallen companion.'
