I just heard a lot of peple saying that World Wrestling Entertainment and Total Non-Stop Action is really fake? So I really want to know the truth. Is wrestling really an "illusion"? Because I been watching wrestling since I was 2 years old. And I seen all the wrestler get hurt really bad.

It's both Bartman. It's Real AND Fake. If you watch them when they go to punch or kick one another, they aren't really punching and kicking them. But when they jump from the ropes, or throw them into tables, that's REAL! They work the fake stuff so it looks real. When they hit them with the brass knuckles or hard metal objects, that's not real. They fake the hit. I mean, they hit them, but not with the full force. They have to make it a light hit so they don't hurt one another real bad then the other guy makes it look like he just got the CRAP knocked out of him.
When you watch it, watch real carefully and see if you point out the fake hits and kicks and stuff. If you watch carefully enough, sometimes you will see the guy getting hit delay his reaction, or You'll see the fault in where he should have reacted sooner or the way he reacts to a certain hit. Once you start spottin them, it'll be easier to tell which is the real stuff and which is fake.

[glow=blue,2,000]Thats because it can get rough. Mistakes happen, some punches hit harder then they should. But Lust is completely right.
Its a staged fake fight. They have already chosen the outcome of the fight. Its not a real fight, some of these guys are old friends. After all, how could the Rock forgive Hogan for driving a truck in to the ambulence he was in?
If it was real, its be a straight out brawl or a real wrestling match with the two wrestlers on the canvas trying to place holds on each other. Thats real wrestling. If you want real stuff, try the UFC. Ultimate Fighting Championships.[/glow]

wresteling is realy fake. you ever wonder why they stomp on the ground every time they go to hit the person? its because if they didnt then you would be able to tell its fake because when your hit someone it makes noise. also, ever wonder why in every wrestling match the ref gets knocked out? or how about how one minute the guys is suposidly out cold and the next hes getting up and beating the crap out of the other guy.
as for the table, they are break away.

Some times when they bleed if you look when they get hit they cover there head when they go down. While there down and have there head covered up by there arms they are really scratching there foreheads real hard to start the bleeding process to make it look like they got busted open. Because if you look at them the week after that fight you won't see a scratch on them.

They're not scratchiong but blading when they do that. often a blade will be passed by the ref or they will keep one in their wrist tapes or something like that.
In Flair's book he tells of one match where a guys blade came loose from his wrist tape and he hit him with a forearm when it was exposed. Ouch!
But yes Fake in terms of the outcome being predetermined and that they are looking to put on a show that appears real without hurting each other severely. Real in terms of thet fact that you cant fake half the stuff they do and make it look real enough for the fans to buy.

The only one I've heard where they throw real punches is ultimate fighting which is a form of wrestling and street fighting.

If you've ever watched any of the WCW, they were really rough. ALOT of their stuff was real, no play. They would throw real punches every now and again and use trash cans and all kinds of bits and pieces to tear each other up with. But I think it was getting a lil TOO rough that's why they've toned it down a bit in the WWE. MOST of the wrestlers in the WWE came from WCW. McFoley, Stone cold...and many more.

I think that "staged" is more appropriate than fake. It’s kinda like two stuntmen choreographing a fight with no real special affects of camera tricks.
Takes a heck of alot of athletisism.
Fake sounds more harsh and is one of the reasons some people look down on it.

Steel is right about the athleticism part. To take that punishment continuously lots of nights a week in the case of some takles a lot of ability let alone actually carrying off good matches too.
As for the punches, like everything else it depends. Sometimes a wrestler will throw a hard 'stiff' punch for whatever reason (bullying, sloppy style, part of a work etc) but you can do anymove stiff and hurt someone 'on purpose'.
