Opions. We all have them, not all of them are always popular, liked or well recieved, especially in the Transformers franchise. So what are you of your opions, it cna be toys (Singular, entire lines etc), cartoons, comics, movies, that you hold to that may or may not be popular?
For example,
I was never fond of the post-movie (1986) toys, die cast went, and alot of the last of the lines just looked like plastic cack. There were some good stuff though, but I've never like the 86 figures like Kup, Blurr and onwards that just look like big blastic bricks.

I'm with you as far as the toys go. They were never the same post-movie. In fact, non of the later toylines (Headmasters, Targetmasters, Micromasters) were high on my list.
But, in another Not-Popular opinion, I actually did like the Action Masters. They looked pretty awesome and compared to their boxy counterparts, they had a lot more playability to them.

Post '86 movie is when Hasbro really had to start designing their own transformers, so that was really their growing pains phase. Before that, all TF figures had been pulled from different, already existing transforming robot toy lines. So, you can consider the likes of Ultra Magnus, Kup and Wreck-gar the first real Transformers.

My main unpopular opinion is that I like simple transformations.
I like the 84-86 toys now, but as a kid it was the tat like sparkbots, firecons, throttlebots that used to get the most love whilst the complicated or fragile ones sat around giving orders from behind Metroplex. Bots like dogfight were the best, because I could have him flying, make the chkckckckckc noise in my head and have him land as a bot in seconds. Awesomeness!!
My other opinion is that Powermaster Prime is the most awesome leader figure ever!!!

I love the flip changers from beast Wars for the very same reason. I used to have so much fun with them because they transform in seconds. I remember when RID came out, I'd try and have big floor battles with all my RID figures, but I'd spend most of my time transforming the things.

Yeah the RID bots have some of the most painful transformations! Especially the car brothers, but they are still my favourite vehicle modes since the original diaclone models!!!!

Agreed, but a total pain to play with, lol.

Umm, what are my unpopular TF opinions....?
Ummm, I think the original comic is better then the original show....
I think the Bay movies are garbage and causally racist...
Hmmm, I don't care for TF Animated but I don't think anything is wrong with it and it deserves its place in the TF Universe.....
I prefer the older toys over the fully articulate later ones....
Ummmm, I think Pat Lee is a punk but can draw a decent TF when he cares to do a good job....
I hate TF RPGs when all players make huge posts constantly and use all there characters together, having a conversation with themselves instead of interacting with other players.....
Ummm oh! I prefer Megatron as a tank instead of a gun!
I also prefer that Ravage and Laserbeak can talk like they do in the Marvel comics then acting like animals in the show.
I don't think Starscream is suited to be a scientist....
And I'm not a big fan of resizing. I don't like it when Jetfire or Astrotrain can carry like 10 robots inside of them when they transform in to there space jet modes. But for some reason I'm ok with Megatron, Soundwave or Blaster shrinking, I don't know why.....

Actually, I think several of your opinions are quite popular in the fandom.

Only just found this thread. Sorry!
Jazz, I way prefer the comic to the show. It was just so much more nuanced and it felt like so much more love went into it, you know? Plus, I have a deep love of Furmanisms and will use them wherever appropriate in RPs. Furman is awsome ;D. And I always got that vibe off the Bay films too. I suppose my only properly controversial opinion is that I really liked Beast Machines! I just thought the directions they took the characters were quality, especially Rhinox- that was a nearly Shakespearean tragedy. But I believe we've had this conversation before, so... there it is.

Actually I don't think I mind BM so much, except for turning Cybertron into a organic planet. Or whatever it was they did.
