After being directed here by the his mighty flared opticness... I personally use a combination of paints. 90% of the time Citadel (Gamesworkshop paints) are fine but it often depends on the quality of the plastic you are painting on. For eaxmple they are a hassle with WWE figuyres because the paint literally slide soff and you need several coats. The othe rsid eof the coin is Armada Thrust who i have just repainted into Ramjet and Dirge (pics coming soon) where the paint went of effortlessly. Experimentation is the key, at least 50% of the time you will need an undercoat and several layers anyway. Also worht bearing in mind is if you're making a 'toy' or display piece. IF its for display then the transforming doesnt matter hence you dont need to concern yourself with paint chipping etc. If its for 'use' which mine always are on principle you need to strartegically plan the best way of painting around joints so that the paint isnt going to flake off. As for the kitbash itself, whatever works for you. I use pieces from everywhere for the finished result just whatever looks good.

No i havent touched an armada starscream to be honest. Only armarda toys ive worked with are Hoist, STarsaber and Thrust. Will do a Sideways as BW-WW Tarantulas at some point though.
Spray paint is cool for large flat area like wings, car panels etc but makje sure any areas you dont wnat painted are masked or removed before you do (made that mistake opnce too often)
