Kicking the 4 for 4 back off again, this week the subject is the trilogy of Michael Bay Transformer films.
Love them, hate them, they have been hugely popular, if somewhat flawed and sometimes contriversial. In this week's 4 for for we discuss the entire trilogy - what did you like? What did you not like and could've been better? Which one was the best of the three. What did you think of the designs? Favourite character/Autobot/Decepticon. etc.
I would like this to be a bit in-depth from characterization (Or lack of it) to deaths, the screenplay/script, to acting and those oh so contriversial moments. How did you feel at the start when you hear there were going to be live action movies?
Please try and be as forthcoming as possible, and remember to respect each other's opinions as always as this trilogy does very much still divide fans.
So, who's gonna start?

Personally, I can't criticize the first film as it's something that helped spark off multiple factors that ended up with me entering the fandom.
I still think of it as the best out of the 3 though. In all honesty it seemed to work fine as a standalone film.
2nd film? Erch. So many inconsistencies. Like how Bumblebee spoke at the end of the first film and didn't in either of the others. That was just.... why even make him talk to begin with then? Plus, veeeerrryyy little character development. I swear I would've loved to see more about the bots as characters than just flash in flash out or die (as was with a couple of decepticons) and they only seemed to be there as tag alongs. I wish there were at least segments that focused on their experiences rather than the humans 24-7. Also, characters kept disappearing, like Wheelie when they found the Matrix of leadership. In terms of plot, I thought the idea was interesting, if a little poorly executed. Hated the twins. Completely unnecessary and just cringe worthy.
Third film seemed to focus on Sam for the first half and Optimus on the second. Lots of fun, much more character development on the transformers side (most notably Optimus). Loved the twist with Sentinel, thought that was pretty cool. Didn't like that science bot, not a transformer, he was more like a robot trying to look like a human. :/ Shockwave was pretty dang cool too.
So there. 1 was cool. 2 sucked but had a nice little concept and 3 was okay.
