So for Father's Day, I decided to treat myself. I found a PS2 slim at the local pawn shop for $40 and bought it. I had the TF PS2 game from when it first came out and decided now was a good time to revisit it.
So of course the graphics are dated but the cut scenes still look fairly good. The controls could be better, I guess they weren't standardized yet when the game came out. The movement of the characters could be better but it's ok. I played the first level as Hot Shot and remembered how hard it was to move about the jungle with all the trees in the way and find minicons. Then I played as Red Alert in Antarctica and had a blast! There were so many baddies just to destroy.
I'm going to continue on but it's interesting to see just how close this game was to being really awesome. If the controls were better that might have been enough. If it had some sort of wayfinding or radar then that may take out some frustration but of course your suppose to search out minicons and there is a minicon for that. The music could be better and as I always said about the game, if the characters said more while dealing with the drones the game might of had some personality to it.

Never got the change to play this outside of about 5 minutes once at a Sam's Club when I was a teen.
