As we re-open, at some point ProBoards will be updating it's software to the new V6 sfotware. At this point it's still early days and members of their support forum like me have been granted earlly Alpha access. Although there is no release date yet here's what this means.
ProBoards Support in V6 (Thumb):
*Users avatars will not be this large in the new info center in the final version.
The main purpose is to unite forums across both PC/Mac and mobile for responsive design, especially for use on the smaller screens such as mobile. You will be able to "Access it from your tablet or mobile without losing functionality" - direct quote from ProBoards. Creating a thread will hopefully be easier as well, when you go into a forum on this community you'll see a big yellow plus sign on the bottom right:
fig #1: When you hover on the yellow plus sign you'll see you can either go back to the top of the page or create a new thread.
fig #2: Actually clicking on the yellow plus sign allows you to create a new thread. Instead of a separate "next page" for when you create a thread you'll have a floating reply box with all the full normal workings. The flatter, button-less functions also incorporate the current the "Font face" and "font size" giving you the same flat drop down options with Font face (the very first A in the menu) and the font size (T with an arrow point down, second in the menu from the left.) Floating over any of the icons will tell you what they are however. To the right of the thread title you put in attachments can be done by the little white paper clip in that blue bar.
The quote and "like" option are ow both at the bottom right of a post, from the top right - the little arrow; you can: link to a post, select a post, and report a post as well as report a member.
Inside a thread from the yellow plus button you can also "Create a new reply", "share a thread", go "back to board" or "Jump to top".
fig #3: The smilies are now emojiis and there's a good number of them too!

As of right now current themes won't work with the way they are done in V6. It just means that I will have to make them compatible, what this means for me personally or how much work I'll have to do to adapt them is unknown. Hopefully we will be able to keep them all.
