Of course, once members joined; it was vital that they first read our "General Rules" when we roleplayed, we were not a site that has character restriction in terms of how many words/paragraphs per post but we expected you to be literate as much as possible. Even if you've had roleplayed before, you've never have roleplayed with us before so it was worth reading before anything else.
There were certain things that required just common knowledge for our past roleplays, like,- no time wasters, having good time management and posting the minimum of once a week (Twice if possible) or it slows the game down for others. Likewise we didn't mind if players were busy as long as they told us in the OOC comments threads, any character who disappears for weeks on end without telling us was then subject to the GM's choice of whether that character should continue or be killed off. Communication is a common courtesy. We never accepted any god-modding/powerlay, period, and no player is invulnerable and so should take some damage or a "hit" now and then. The player controlled their actions and their actions alone, not other players or their re-actions. There was also no point blanks shots as it's unfair to other players. We always encouraged an action rather than and action + subjective reaction.
Example:
"Tigor aimed at Starscream and fired" as opposed to "Tigor shot Starscream out of the sky and finished him off for good".
It may be an exaggeration, but the principle is there. Let the person being attacked decide the outcome of your actions, it WAS more fun that way. Higher situations, like looking for that enemy spy in our base, the GM decided if you find him. This last also applied to the Battle SIMM, don't abuse your powers or abilities.
At Total Transformers, one of the best ways to get started - once you've read and understood the rules, is to try your luck in our Total Carnage: RP Battle SIMM! Once they understood the rules and created a character they could pick a fight in the BATTLE SIMM and practice their fighting skills with one of our members! It was also a good way of giving us an indication of what level role-play they were at. If you were ready, you were ready to role-play with us.
