Dear members,
Given that things have been a bit livelier here since lock-down and with a couple years away from hitting our 20th anniversary, it was time to keep that flow and address some how we can continue to grow, thrive and maintain this community. Not just for the next couple of years but the long term. I was reading an article about changing the way forums etc are designed, and whether paid for or hosting it is down to forum software designers but nevertheless it was interesting and got me thinking. Can forum owners break the cycle themselves. In this age of mobile, tablets, reddit, tabs etc, can we get information quicker without mass scrolling or clicking?
At our forum's age we can afford to have as many forums as we want on the front page being established, yet I've always tried to keep it to what we need, and not have to endless scroll to the bottom. I therefore think it is important that when you come to the board to this message board you should be instantly able to see what's what and what's new and is being discussed. Therefore, it has been broken down - on all forum themes; to have a mass re-organization. Starting with the the delving into the coding and moving the Threads & posts column on the main index page and just having the "last post" threads.
Here is a breakdown:
*The Sharkticon Pit is now in the Parent "off-world forums" at the bottom of the first section which also contains the tv/films forum and general gaming forum.
*Our Main transformers forum - Contains both the (now sub forum) Cybertron Central forum of everything Transformers as always, as well as the Generation TF Gaming forum.
**Vector Sigma still has it's own forum as one of the more popular ones over the years, but the TF Fanfics & TF Art forums are now in the next parent forum below "TF art and literature"
I am considering a "Quick links" section somewhere but that will dependent on how and where I can best approach this. In order for this message board to continue to be fresh, attract new members and continue to function and serve as a family TF forum for more years to come, things must change. Any concerns can be noted in this thread, feedback or suggestions, we simply cannot afford to let things go stale now.
Thank-you,
Hoist.
