File 1.2 Murder on the Iacon express

A short time later...

The Vice Officers were assembled in the crime lab of the V-HQ building in Iacon where some techs loked over the data pad Epyon had brought in.
"The encryption code is above standard but we can break it" the head tech had remarked when first handed the data pad. They had spent the best part of an hour going over it, running it through several obscenely expensive machines the Iaconian tax payers had to cough up for.
"Done" said the lead tech looking pleased with himself.
"Seems the owner of this was one Bolt Spectrum, an accountant with some seemingly strange clients if you get my meaning. This data pad contains some rather sensitive information"

[Hoist]

Else where at Vice HQ..

"Back-up get your tail-pipe in here... NOW!!!", Marshall's yell was so loud it could be heard through the cyber-plex glass office walls..

"What is it boss?", replied the bot plainly as he sheepishly entered..


"Don't forget i'm watching you on this case and i want a good result"


"yes SIR!!!"

"I mean it back-up, i had to go through a lot of heads and a lot of departments to get you where you are and i don't need another one of your foul-ups!!"

"Geez, you got really grouchy since promotion.."

"GET OUTTA MY OFFICE!!!", shouted Marshall pointing feircly across the desk to the dooor.

With that Back-up removed his sorry tail from the office and went to look for some of the other officers, or liquid refreshment..

Tron began to try and put the pieces together.

[glow=blue,2,000]"Ok, we have more then one connection here. Besides both victims being bruned to death, we also have the address of where the second victim was found, written down on a piece of paper, found on the first victim.

"There both business types it seems, so maybe they were ripping someone off, or someone needed to make sure these two kept quiet about something? Anyways, what we need to do is some research....

"Lets have a look at whats on that data pad and its sensitive info. We might find out where the next murder will take place. Also lets look for some names on it.

"Also we need to contact the Letting Agency and find out who our first victim was and who he was dealing with, lets also see what property he was dealing with. We all know that the shipping district is ran by those who think their above the law, if we find a connection there it wouldn't surprise me.

"The footage from the train station should be here already or on its way, I'll have the lab boys have a look at it, as well have them request all the footage from the other train stations that the train with the first victim on it it, passed by eariler today. If we can recognise who the first victem is, the lab boys might see someone following him." [/glow]

"Sounds like a plan. I'll go check in with the letting agency" Epyon replied waiting to see if he got any other orders before he went off.

[Magnum Force]

[glow=red,2,300]Er... just because they seem burned doesnt mean that's the COD (cause of death)[/glow] Magnum offered scratching the back of his head and looking sheepish in case he was saying something stupid.
[glow=red,2,300]I mean Sentry didn't detect anything that would be chemical burning residue at either scene...[/glow] his voice drifted off quietly,,,

Tron knew he hadn't worded himself right but he didn't care. And his foul mood was getting the best of him. [glow=blue,2,000]"Burned, Melted, Atomized, does it matter? We have data to work on, so lets get cracking on that and find out exactly what it is then!"[/glow]

A short time later Epyon arrived outside the letting agency in central Iacon. It was entitled 'Drux Properties' and seemed like a normal respectable office. He entered and saw a centtral reception desk at the back of a small white room. There was a door behind reception likely leading to offices.

Tron waited with Sentry and Magnum as the techs continued to work on the pad and printing off detailed sheets of the data within. After a while they finished and presented the information to Tron.

In his hand McClane held a long list of accountancy details including finance transactions and deposists as well as client information. Whoever Bolt Spectrum was he was doing a lot of work for a lot of big spending people.

Magnum snatched the readout from Tron and had a look.
[glow=red,2,300]Hey, is this what I think it is...[/glow] he said oggling the huge, huge numbers. His optics scanned down the page until they reached a set of details for the client who thge list referred to.

Epyon began to walk over to the reception desk to introduce himself and ask to speak to someone in charge.

A young looking reception-bot looked up and saw the officer approaching.
"Can I help you?"

[glow=red,2,300]Crime basically, word is he's almost untouchable and the local authorities have been trying to take him down for years. I think he has a lot of the rackets in this city under his heel![/glow]

"Hi there, i'm Vice Officer Epyon. I'm currently working on a case and need to find some information on someone that used to work for you." he said as he showed his badge.

The receptionist seemed a bit clueless as to what Epyon was talking about.
"Er.. okay. Who was it because our records that I can access only go back a sfar as a year ago"

("Can i assume Epyon took the ID Card with him that they foudn at the scene?")
