Staring at the screens in front of him, it is all :perceptor can do to avoid regurgitating gasket oil.
[glow=blue,2,300]In the name of Primus, does this cretin really intend to subject us to this torrent of rubbish? Vector seems to be suffering from what the humans call a Messiah Syndrome. At this rate, it won't just be the Destructicons who want him dead, most of the planet will be reaching for his throat as well.[/glow]
Pushing his chair back and mentally running down pi to 4 million decimal places, :perceptor turns to Maverick.
[glow=blue,2,300]Remember Maverick that for all things there is a time and a place. Your time will come, as it has for all of us. In the meantime, learn from L7, learn from all of us. And whilst you're at it, perhaps you could give me a rundown on the status of the Jekka City air lanes. Any sign of our foes?[/glow]
Turning his gaze to the monitors, :perceptor notes with a raised eyebrow the assault, before moving into action.
[glow=blue,2,300]Maverick, start getting concrete IDs on the Destructicon protagonists. We need to know what their numbers and capabilities are. I'll initiate an uplink to Commander L7 via our surface beacon to give him a tactical data feed.[/glow]
Swinging back to his console, :perceptor starts analysing the Destructicon attack and with a blur of motion send his fingers dancing across the console, setting up a data link with L7 and relaying tactical information.
[glow=blue,2,300]Im, monitor all transmissions in the Jekka area. Screen out Autobot security frequencies and our own people. Home in on any encrypted or military grad carrier signals. I want to find out who's communicating with who. Maverick, see if you can ascertain what the situation is vis a vis the Autobot security response.[/glow]
[glow=blue,2,300]Good. Uploading to L7 now. Keep an eye out for anymore of our "friends". [/glow]
Noting the disappointment in Maverick's face, :perceptor takes a moment to console his colleague.
[glow=blue,2,300]Remember Maverick, an army without logistical and tactical support is an army defeated. Has it occurred to you that perhaps L7 is trying to teach you a lesson in patience? Although he hasn't confided in me, I would surmise that although he recognises your martial skills, he is concerned that you lack the patience and forethought to use your skills to their best. Look at it from this perspective: doing a good job providing support to the combat teams here will earn you a greater degree of respect from our commander. Just a few thoughts on the matter[/glow]
Sighing at his colleague's impetuousness, :perceptor walks over to a weapons locker, withdraws his sword and straps it to his back. Moving aboard the ship, he motions for Maverick to take the controls.
[glow=blue,2,300]If you would do the honours Maverick. You're infinitely better suited to piloting than I am. Do try to remember two things though. Firstly, we need to reach the Amphitheatre in one piece, and two, unless otherwise directed, you will follow my lead. I do not intend to lose a new recruit on his first real field assignment. Understood?[/glow]
Fixing Maverick with a stern glare, :perceptor runs his digits over the ops console of the ship, setting up a remote link with the Renegade base computer and establishing his own datalink with the system.
Tightly gripping the arms of his seat as Maverick commences yet another high G turn in midair, :perceptor starts to question the wisdom of bringing this trainee along.
[glow=blue,2,300]Although capable of withstanding a high G stress environment, my processors would prefer it if you took things a little more sedately Maverick. Flying like an energon crazed Seeker isn't going to endear you to Autobot Air Defence Command. Speaking of which.[/glow]
Deftly manipulating controls, :perceptor opens up a comm link to Iacon.
[glow=blue,2,300]Autobot Air Command, this is the Renegade vessel Renegade. We are en route to the Jekka vicinity to assist in containing the Destructicon menace there. It would be appreciated if you did not blow us out of the sky. Please confirm.[/glow]
Maverick looked at Perceptor and waved him off with his hand. :maverick [glow=red,2,000]"Dude, we so don't need there clearance."[/glow]
Without taking his gaze off of Perceptor, Maverick brought the ship a lower and turned up the speed. He flew over the roof tops of buidlings and went inbetween them will reckless abandon, twsiting and turning as he did.
:maverick [glow=red,2,000]"Jekka City in two breens and counting!"[/glow] ;D
[glow=blue,2,300]*sigh* Remind me to instruct you in the etiquette of polite society sometime Cadet. There's the Amphitheatre. Take us in. Once I'm cyberside, park the Renegade in the middle of the arena and find L7. I want you to act as his wingman unless he has orders to the contrary.[/glow]
Getting up out of his chair, :perceptor performs a quick status check on his systems. Drawing his sabre and giving Im a hand up to his shoulder, the scientist turned warrior stands by the primary egress hatch.
[glow=blue,2,300]Oh well, so much for keeping a low profile. When you're ready Maverick.[/glow]
Maverick sets the ship down as activates the outer shields so the will activate once the two leave the inside of the ship. Maverick can see and hear the sound of battle outside the ship, making him excited and moving faster then before to get out and fight the Destructicons.
He grabs his blaster and heads towards the hatch where Perceptor stands by. :maverick [glow=blue,2,000]"Gang way! Hot headed mech with an attitude coming through!"[/glow]
Maverick jumps outside and hits the ground running towards the closests bunch of Renegades he can find.
The Renegades land at there surface station and enter the hanger where, they roll on to an massive elevator which takes them underground to there real base.
Before they reach the bottom, L7 gets out of his seat and leaves the cockpit to go and get Perceptor to bring him in to the Med center. [glow=blue,2,000]"Move like you have a purpose Gades. The war is back on."[/glow]
Hoist: Hmm, I'm guessing nothing to do with Beast Wars or Armada, so either a sequel based in or around the first renegade rp trilogy or War For Cybertron? I'm guessing War For Cybertron!
