Maximus and his team was escorting the legendary Optimus Prime into the MAximal citadal, when the attack came. The citadal destroyed by a green beam of light. MAximus and his 9-member team was knocked over by the shear force of the blast and OPtimus Prime was hit by a large chunk of debris. MAximus and his team started searching for the bot or ship that fired the blast. They didn't find him or it. Suddenly, hundreds of drones started attacking the city. "Team, Let's get out of here!" said MAximus as he drew his chain-gun and started fireing at the drones. His team tried to follow suit, but they're wern't powerful enough to even dent them. "What are these things made of?" asked one of the team, a particuarlly large bot. "We have to get OPtimus out of here!" said Maximus, as he took another shot at the drones. "Load him in me and let's go." said Maximus as he transformed into his semi-trailer mode. A few members of his team loaded the damaged Optimus Prime into MAximus's trailer, then his team jumped onto his trailer. Maximus started rolling down the nearly destroyed street, not caring who he ran over. He saw a sub-way entrance and started rolling for it, knowing that being underground had to be safer then being up here. He was about to start rolling into the tunnel, when the ground collapsed beneath him and made him, Optimus Prime, and his team fell under the ground. They hit the ground very hard, and damaged Optimus Prime even more. Maximus transformed into his robot mode and looked at his surroundings. It was a large cavern with many entrances to tunnels. Maximus picked one at random and lead his team down the tunnel, and transformed back into his semi mode, and started down the tunnel with his team and Optimus PRime in his trailer. They were rolling down that tunnel for what seemed liked hours, when they came to a entrace to a even larger cavern then the one they came from. They made camp they're, knowing they were safe from the drones there, and started to take a look at OPtimus's injuries. There was no Optimus was going to survive without treatment, but they didn't have the supplies to help him. As Maximus was looking over his troops, OPtimus spoke for the first time. "Maxi...mus?" said the damaged autobot.
"Yes?" said Maximus, going over to Optimus.
"I...go...ing to die,...arn't I?"
"I'm sorry, but yes."
"Then, ...this should be...pa$$ed on." said Optimus as he opened his chest and revealed the Matrix.
"I'm not worthy of such a honor." said Maximus as he shielded his optics from the light of the matrix.
"Nor was...I when I ...recieved it from...OPtimus Nova. But...you will be...worthy when you...save our planet from this...new evil." said the dying Prime, as he took the matrix out of his chest and reached out to give it to Maximus."Take...it."
Maximus hesitated to take the mystical object, but he it from the dying autobot's hand.And with that, OPtimus Prime's spark, one that has withstoud millions of years of violence, died before the eyes of Maximus and his team. Maximus took no time to grief over the death of the legendary hero, he opened his chest and placed the matrix inside. Suddenly, he started to glow and grow larger, more powerful, more wise. A beam of light from the new OPtimus hit each of his team, transforming them, making them larger, more powerful, stronger. Maximus looked at his team, noticing they're changes, and said,"We will deliver this planet from this new and powerful evil, we will stop them and destroy them, are you with me?" asked Optimus Maximus. His team cheered yes. "We will stop them, for we are no longer maximals, we are Renegades!" cheered OPtimus Maximus, as his team cheered with him.
