"And what's your purpose here young lady?", asked the Vice Admiral to Jesse.
"They brought me here to fix me up after those Transformer.. things, destroyed my home, and hurt my mom in the process!", replied the teenager stuffily, So now whilst my mom gets better we're staying here, I guess you could say we're homless", she continued glumly and lowered her head
"Remind me again Lansing", continued the VA, "Why you're working with these hideous machines?", there was a stoic seriousness in his voice, clearly trying to make a point.
"I wouldn't quite call them Hideous Vice President. Seeing as how they hold the greater key to our survival than we do. Not only that it isnt the Autobots we need to worry about. They wouldn't harm so much as a fly compared to the Decepticons whom are out to pretty much destroy our race all together. We don't lock the Autobots up and use them for experiments like Sector Seven we work with them like equals with the same goal. Stop the decepticons and save our world." Lara stated as the elevator opened for them. "If you think the Autobots would leave willingly then your right they would but i doubt that the Decepticons would even do the same. They would just wipe us out as soon as the Autobots left our planet. Now if i may I would like to show both you and Jesse around the compound since that is what the government wants me to do in this time of crisis." Lara added waving one hand in motion for the two to board the elevator to the underground base.
Admiral Jackson came back on the screen. +COM+ "General Walker, I just spoke with the leader... Rumble Prime... I asked if he could get Shipwreck to get this thing out to open water..." he said.
"Now the Lincoln, Ohio, and Momsen all have the necessary... equipment to pretty much destroy this thing... the problem is that protocol requires that I ask first... and I'd prefer to wait to see if Shipwreck can get this thing... oh about half way to Hawaii first..." he said. +COM+
General Walker turned to the 'runner'
"Get me General Lansing A-SAP... and bring the Vice President if you have to." she said.
"Yes, ma'am." said the runner as he slipped ou the door.
"Admiral... I may very well be able to get your authorization." she said.\
+COM+ "Thank you General... our regular munitions weren't doing the job." he said +COM+
By then just about everybody involved knew they were referring to the nuclear option... but it was risky, and needed time and space.
The runner flew out of the room, towards the garage. He almost ran into General Lansing, as he came around a corner. He straightened up, did a quick salute to the General and Vice President, then got to business.
"Ma'am... we have a situation." he said... "Mr. Vice President... you may need to coma along to." he added.
The Vice President nodded and headed off with Lansing continuing their conversation as they moved, now quite quickly down the corridors as they followed the runner.
"The Autobots might not harm a fly General", continued the VP in a ruffled voice, "But what about the unintentional casualties - The Florida Incident, the hotel? The service men and woman, who you of all people should be concerned with. How many have to get caught up in the middle of their damn war?"
"It wasn't our choice to begin with when our Government had Megatron and the Allspark for experiments and Reverse Enginering. We provocatively shot our selves in the foot and hurdled ourselves into the unknown without a second thought. Those casualties maybe my fault but im apparently taking a much bigger burden than our government can even carry. Why do you think they appointed me in the first place Mr. Vice President." Lara carefully explained as they reached the doors to Communications. "Whether or not we get involved with their war is not our desicion its whether or not we become apart of the solution to the War. I have a question for you Mr. Vice President, Do you Believe in God sir?" Lara added pushing the button to open the rather large door.
Someone runs up to the Admiral with a sheet of paper, The Amiral's eyes get wide, and he is visibly angered.
"General... I have some news as to why our efforts were not working... I was just told that a computer error had the destroyers loaded with star-burst rounds... instead of the artillery rounds..." he said... the piece of paper was now crumpled in his hand.
"Well, Admiral at least the current needed ammo is loaded." responded General Walker, trying to lighten the mood. She made a hand gesture off to the side. "I will personally make sure that the 9th fleet is fully combat operational by the end of the week." she added. The comm officer got on the horn to Pacific fleet command, for an emergency resupply of the 9th fleet's artillery rounds.
She shook her head ~Computers.... cant live with 'em... can't live without 'em.~ she thought.
"Of course I believe in God Ms. Lansing, there hasn't been a Presidency yet that hasn't been elected with the faith of our forefathers", ruffled the Vice President, "But I don't see what that's go to do with this..."
Everyone who noticed tthe Vice president and General Lansing enter the room, snapped to attention with a salute. A few in the room, including a satellite officer, General Walker, and a few others were more focused on what was going on.
"Glad you could join us, Mr. Vice President... and General Lansing." she said, still looking at the screen.
"I wish I could ask what I called you for, but I can't as there has been a change in plans." she added.
The scene on the beach was still unfolding on the large screen in the room.I was starting to get bad, and not much could be done.
She turned her head to the comm officer. "How much longer on the Stennis?' she asked.
"Soon, ma'am... I'm trying to get a satelite pointed in their direction... I will let you know." said the Ensign.
"Good." he responded... "But we need more guns... contact the closest Air Force base... I need at least two Spectres airborne A-SAP... and make sure they are fully loaded with SABOT rounds... And get a c-130 loaded with a MOAB... it's time for plan B." she paused, then spoke again. "And get the nearest artillery bases... I want as many M-270's and or heavy howitzers they can spare."
"Aye, ma'am" responded the Ensign, who went to work on the tall order, while still trying to get the satellite fix.
The VP crossed his arms and watched the events on the screen before muttering, "By God Lansing, you better be right about these weapons".
On the screen the events of the Autobot ship being thrown at the fighting Autobots unfolded as Locorn turned and wade his way, at best speed he could, across the green and yellow farmlands. "How soon will it be until it gets to a nearby city Major? We could have a major disaster on our hands here..."
"The Autobots are trying to slow him down, at least until the cavalry arrives... My Navy Guns were loaded with starbursts... Admiral Jackson was none to pleased..." she said... still preturbed.
The comm officer piped up. "General, the Spectres are airborne... eta ten minutes... Edwards was kind enough to the three they had... The 4th Spec ops Squadron aka Ghostriders flew from Hurlburt field Florida for testing in the California mountains" she said.
A smirk played at General Walker's mouth.
"But that's were the good news stops for the moment, Ma'am." she added. "The MOAB is over an hour away at McClellan Air Force Base, They're loading it up, and getting ready for takeoff... And I'm still having trouple getting that Sattelite pointed towards the Stennis... so still no contact with Group Three or an artillery base with sufficcient SABOT Rounds to be used." she said, getting back to her computer.
"Well, at least something is on the way." she said. She turned to General Lansing.
"General, any strings you can pull with NASA to get us Satellite time?" she asked. "And what's the chance that we can get some SABOT rounds lifted to the area, if I can get the guns?"
"See what i mean Prayer here is always a given" Lansing said to the VP. "Ok Contact Houstins Nasa HQ and get clearence tell them that General Lansings Orders to allow access to their Satalite Grid is a must. Also contact any Naval ships this includes Aircraft Carriers for assistance I want that behimoth to sink to the bottom of the ocean even if its the last thing i do." The General orderd trying to get everyone working as fast as possible in the room.
The Air Force comm officer conacted NASA with the orders from General Lansing. As soon as the system was running, a satellite was pointed toward the USS John C Stennis Battlegroup, and then the link was passed to the Ensign who was working the comm.
"Stennis on the line ma'am, Admiral Adams." she said.
Admiral Adams showed up on the screen.
"I'll save the formalities for now, Admiral." said General Walker. "Here's the situation, Admiral... We have a Giant Robot attacking the California coast, and the Lincoln's escort guns have insufficient ammunition... the Aircraft from local Air Force bases are aiding the Lincoln's air wing, but we need more firepower... Now we are getting help from some smaller robots... the biggest is our target. I need your fleet to move it, ASAP up the coast, and assist the flyboys who are already there." she said.
The Admiral took a moment to take it all in.
"Well, Admiral... time is of the essense..." said General Walker, somewhat impatiently.
"We're on our way, General..." he said before turning to bark the full speed ahead to all vessels.
The Ensign sent the coordinates to the Stennis.
"Ma'am, I'm picking up another carrier within satellite range... the USS Carl Vinson... but it's off the coast of Hawaii..." said the SAT/RADAR officer.
"Patch us through... I want every gun Ah can get." said General Walker.
One of the main screens now showed the locations of the three carriers... it was risky getting a third of the naval firepower in one spot, but it should do the trick.
Hoist: Hmm, I'm guessing nothing to do with Beast Wars or Armada, so either a sequel based in or around the first renegade rp trilogy or War For Cybertron? I'm guessing War For Cybertron!
