Maybe Clive Owen..
Funnily enough Die Another Day was on UK terrestrial TV last night (And all i could think of was: morpher fanfic, morpher fanfic!) Anyway it's a shame Brosnan can't do another fifth film as Bond.

[glow=blue,2,000]Yeah, with the Remmington Steel contract holding him back and the legal troubles James Bond had its a shame he was held back for so long. He could have been James Bond for years!
And he enjoyed it very much so its possible that we could have gotten another 4 movies out of him. But its best to go now as 'Die Another Day' is a hard act to follow and he's getting old, best not to make the same mistake Roger Moore did and look like Grandpa7.[/glow]

I think Timothy Dalton brought the edge first, and when bond finally did come back after all those absent yers, Brosnan took it from "Secret Agent" to "British spy*, and here's what i mean: The term "Secret agent" was getting outdated by UK termss, it was alright in the 60's - 1980's but in changing times today it has to be kept "fresh" Dalton's Bond had a much tougher edge, he actually bled and got beaten up just as good (Especiallly in Licence To Kill with evil baddie: Sanchez) and ws the only bond to actually get married (even though she was killed but that brought a whole new edge to Bond also, a new aspect) Brosnan's continued to adapted the "spy/goverrment agent" change but not make it too PC. I liked Brsonan's Bond as it mixed Dalton's edginess and Connery's ease with the one liners (Bronsnan second to Connery on the innuendo/one liners basis, Moore being a bit too camp). The such sutlness of being it to modern day terms with such easy and such grdualness is a credit to the Bond character. Well those were my thoughts anyway, guess i'm a little inspired again after watching Die Another Day (Only the third time i've seen it really).

[glow=blue,2,000]True, while Dalton was edgy and tough, I didn't really like him. He didn't have the sauvey style I think. To me Bond has to be abit more larger then life and someone that makes what he's doing look easy. But Dalton was rough and rugged no doubt.
I'm glad you brought up the marriage bit, cause I believe it actually referring to 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' with George Lazenby. Bond got married by the end of the movie only to have his wife killed.
Now I did like Lazenby, he may have not gotten into the role right away but if he was given the chance I believe he would have been able to pull it off and become a creditable Bond. But the marriage thing did bug me.
That movie that say was one of the best written and it was actioned packed! [/glow]
