Awesome film!
Far too long, like needlessly so in some placers. i reckon 15-20 mins could have been shaved off.
Either way its still great and the time flies in the cinema. Only way i know it was more than 3hours is the crippling leg pain from those damn seats.
Gollum stole the show as i really notcied the pace slowing down when he was not on screen and when he 'died' and wasnt around for a while.
Shelob was freakish and quite scary.
Aragorn was heavily bearded but it siuted the changing to being a King (which i guess was the point).
Major gripe was the lack of Saruman(i had to explain to the missus what happened to him) as his dismissal at the beginning kinda sucked big time.
Go see this film now!

[glow=blue,2,000]Yup, no Surman killed it for me too. Well not kill but you know what I mean, big let down. The part I didn't like was the constant focus on Frodo and Sam! Aaaargh! And the ending was kind of long I guess...[/glow]

Yeah I know what you mean. The Sam Frodod stuff wa s abit sickly and I admit to getting tired to it during the previous 2 having wtached them recently as well.
If you haventy seen it you must go and get the Two Towers SE DVD as the extra Boromir, Faramir, Denethor bit is class.

hey rainy yknow how shelob was scary that modeled her from a Funnel Web Spider, which is native to New Zealand, but can find in australia too. Peter Jackson picked them caused he hates them the most, and cause of the way they are. These spider Scuttle around and then freeze all of a sudden.
i will admit it got a tad bit slow near the end. Although aparently theres a nother 50 mins worth on the extended edition of this movie.
i didn't know bout the suaraman bit cause i still havn't read the book yet, but i knew that hes part had been cut out of the movie and that why he snubbed the world premiere in wellington.
I loved gollum in this movie, how he paid out sam all the time. "Stupid fat Hobbit" lol. "Myyyyy Pprrrrrreacious" i love how they showed how he becam gollum and his two diff personalities.
I reckon the Witch King looked cool!
But still i loved it! I especially love the song played at the end of the Credits. "Into the West" by Annie Lennox, and since i work in the cinema i get to hear it for awhile now, when i usher for it.
One thing i will say if ur a fan of art and stuff, wait arounf during the credits, as you see a pencilled picture of most of the main characters in the movie.
I don't know if they did this in the other movie as i never stayed for the credits or ushered for other 2 as i only started this year.
I havn't bought a video or DVD of any of the movies yet, i'm waiting till all three extended editions come in one pack. its gonna cost alot, but i'll save up.

As for SE DVD, how can you wait? Ill probably get the collected versions if they're different anyway but you have to at least borrow them off someone now!

[glow=blue,2,300]It was definitely an arse numbing experience. I decided I had to stick around through all the credits just to check out whether the superb Mr Lee had really had his name cut from the films credits. He did. Can't say I blame him either!
Can't wait for the extended edition DVD though. Not only will it have some cool extra scenes but it will also be pausable. Relief for the aching behind.[/glow]

I really likes this film I tought it was the best of the 3..Being new to LOTR genre I found it hard to follow at points the first movie was BORING the second had more action and a better climax and the 3rd ROCKED! I will buy the $ set DVD first chance I get! But I probably will skip watching the first Episode
