Yeah, I figured you knew. I just brought it up. OP really did die alot. Femmebots aren't my thing, Primus making the TFs, yeah, that's cooler than them being built. Nemisis Prime was built, humans created him, according to TF Armada.

I think the idea of female transformers, or femmes if you'd rather, is a good idea. I've recently only just discovered the fembots in Transformers when I was introduced to Elita One, Chromia, and Arcee.
In the movie, they were oringinally going to have Arcee in like Ironhide's place I think. When they decided not to use her, they did a G1 shoutout in the last fight scene when Lennox used the motorbike to destroy Blackout. The official TF site even has pictures of how Arcee was going to look. As to her appearance in the upcoming 09 sequel, who knows. But I think the femmes deserve the same chance as their more masculine counterparts to prove themselves to the new generation.

I'd like to have Arcee, but I've only got the Energon one. As for other fembots, I don't have anymore than her, I traded Blackarachnia to you, Onix. I say they should put Elita 1 in the next movie.

Either Elita or Arcee would be good as long as one of them makes it into the movie.

Should their be female Transformers? Hell Yes!
Why? For the female fans of course. But on the real, with the development of how Transformers originated, it makes sense to have robots with a more feminine side since their are clearly so many masculine characteristics in the characters. And I'm not just talking about voices either.
I think if we lived in a world where women were dominate and not men, then we would be asking if their should be male Transformers. Think about it!
But back to TF origins, consider both the TV show and the Marvel comics, both which have influenced further TF series' more or less, and you see that the Transformers were created by others. Quintessons and by Primus. Considering that the Quints created the Transformers to serve them, then a female robot may have been created to perform certain tasks they thought would be suitable for a female to perform. And I don't mean that in a crude or rude way, but I think you see what I mean. Of course the Quints are rather cold and cruel robots themselves, doesn't make that much sense but then their form of judgment was rather cold and cruel anyways.
Primus may have based the Transformers on an alien race with males and females. After all he was a God and so had the power to do so. And like what many Gods do claim he did it as a gift for his children or he may have felt that it was the best way for a race to be an actually, living race. Like all other races across the galaxy, he made them males and females.
I think if we can accept living robots with independent thoughts, feelings, emotions, morals and etc, then I think we can accept robots with characteristics that reflect gender. Lets just be happy who ever created them didn't base them on a race with a third gender possibility!!!

I always remember that technically, transformers are non-gender. The existence of Female transformers was purely political. But, I don't really mind it.
I'd like to think that a rational way to explain it is simply the persona takes on a more feminine tone. Not that they are exactly female. On Cybertron it wouldn't make sense to call it female or male, but when they encounter humanity, the classification could be made simply by the distinction of men and women and their persona's.
Of course, that's just me rambling and over thinking it because I'm a fanboy, lol.

Then allow a fellow fanboy to ramble on with you!
I think the thing is as well, is that we can get caught up in the labeling of certain Transformers with gender like characteristics. We refer to them as male and female cause we really have no other way of referring to them and their feminine and masculine characteristics, be it their personas as you mentioned but also in behavior, physical appearance in some cases and even how they relate to each other.
Its also a case of semantics. There no word for male robot or female robot, with the exception of femmebot I suppose. But in a real case, robots aren't assigned a gender, not in our world, or should I say not yet.
Question Onix, what do you mean when you said that the existence of Female transformers was purely political?

Well, it is seen inappropriate to not have a single female character, especially in the 80's. It was the politically correct thing to do, like when they added the fifth female ninja turtle.

Seriously?! A female Ninja Turtle! Never saw her and I don't look away when I see the Turtles. I could see where your right. The 90's weren't that far away and thats where all things PC took off. But then turned right around. Plus their were a lot of female superheroes coming out too. I remember when their were more women then men on the Xmen for a while.
