Ch.3: The First Fall

[Bomblast]

D-Fib raised her blaster, which looked almost pathetic compared to everyone else's weapons.

"Yep. I've got my repair bay waiting in the transport room."

Meanwhile, Deadbolt followed Quickshot.

"You're right. Very curious."

[Onix Solo]

Onix's faceplate opened up and he smirked when she held up her gun

"It's will have the same effect as ours. None of us are carrying lethal rounds. Lets head down to the transport room then."

Quickshot stepped out into the hangar and started walking across the huge space. Not far off a semi-truck roared to life then headed towards them then turned to the right and stopped. Quickshot transformed into his car mode and drove up into the semi's car trailer. The semi turned to Deadbolt and the familiar voice of Quickshot came from it.

"My other half"

The car and semi began shifting and transformed. Quickshot now stood half a bot taller than he had a moment ago.

[Bomblast]

Deadbolt was taken aback when he saw Quickshot's new form.

"Well....I'm impressed. Didn't know there were many around still using the duo ability. I like it."

[Onix Solo]

Quickshot held up a finger

"It is far more than the duo ability of old. I wanted to improve it. I worked on a shared conscience but unlike the duo ability of old, the shared conscience also function independently. I can be on one side of Cybertron in my basic robot mode and transporting things on the other side in my truck mode. Also, while I do feel the effect of harm if it comes to one of my forms, it doesn't render the other one less effective. I could completely loose one of my forms and still be perfectly fine.....well, with a few side effects. It would also be unfortunate to loose my car form, it would render me without robot mode, at least for a while. I should probably work on that."

Quickshot got lost in his thoughts standing there in front of Deadbolt.

Uplink had been following the two to the hanger.
She watched intently at the unification of both of Quickshots halves. Then stepped out next to Deadbolt to make herself known.

"I'd read your profile but this is more than I expected." She said, observing the sized up version of Quickshot that now stood before her. "You certainly went all out."
Uplink smiled. "I admire your upgrades to the old Duo system. Especially the effectiveness of the seperate vehicles." She gestured towards the parts from the semi truck. "And the combonation of the two appears to be very strong. A useful physical advantage in combat"
She thought for a moment. "Though I agree, working on the Semi Truck's abilities would greatly benefit you should you loose one half of yourself"

[Onix Solo]

Quickshot came out of his thoughts when Uplink addressed him. He bowed slightly.

"Thank you. I am glad someone else can appreciate the true complexity of the modifications. It would be far more impressive, but I was working on my own then. Perhaps I will one day get a chance to fix the issues."

He put his hand to his chin and thought for a moment

"An improved neural up-link in this form would be wonders. Perhaps an area you can be of assistance later when I go to upgrade it. I get a slight lag of point zero-zero-zero-zero-zero-one nano-kliks every now and then that drive me crazy."

[Highram]

"I'm sure that lag can be quite the pain.It would be my pleasure to assist you. " said Uplink with a smile. "When we have the time of course" She added.

[Jazzman Crothers]

All the Renegade's internal comlink came to life with a message from Latyrx7. ***COM***'Renegades. Report to the space ship Nova Red. They will take you down close to Omega City. We'd teleport you in but the static storm over Omega City is interfering with the Space Bridge control. Good luck.***COM***

After Latyrx7 shut off the comlink, he looked over the crew inside the Sim room and then at the sleeping Phasmatis. The old renegade commander was feeling about the team and that Incendius was still with them. He turned away from the mysterious robot inside the sim unit to attend to some other work.

And if Latyrx7 had just stayed a little longer, he may have been able to catch a wicked smile come across Phasmatis' lips before it reverted back to the expressionless face all the Renegades witnessed just minutes before.
