Discord Friday Chat - XMAS

From midnight tonight the discord chat will be closed for a few days so people can celebrate Christmas. Obviously this Friday's chat falls on Christmas Day night and families should be together not huddled over a chat on a computer.

It''ll be back open in a few days for next Friday (New year's day) but no chat this Friday for obvious reasons! Enjoy your Christmas and be merry!

Shoutout Box disabled - For a while at least

Dear members,

Whilst I'm not overally concerned with us all having busy lives - myself included, there is a growing concern that when members can come here they take a quick look/up/down the board then leave. Not even a "Hello!". All I will say is, when you can come here; at least be considerate and say a quick hello whilst you're here or that you're checking in.

To that decree, much as before; I feel a lot of people just use the shoutout box to do that, which is fine - but again I feel it can be done on the message board itself. (There is the drop in thread after all.) Which is why - for a little while at least, the shoutout box has been disabled. So members actually use they board when they can be here.

So just say hello (Hopefully little more and engage), and help this community.

Achievement system RETURNS!!

Dear members,

It's been gone a long time, but the achievements plugin, receiving special badge awards for contributions to this message board is back!! These awards are random and decided by the admin (me) and also given out randomly by myself! For example here is an example I believe for 3000 posts:

*Actual awards on your profile will be much smaller



For now, I am currently trying to repair all the old ones. All the previous images were on tinypic.com, which is no longer no more. Also since the crash of my PC a long time ago I lost the awards and the template so am making these all fresh and new (Also in a new style) from scratch again! All awards can be found under the "Achievement" tab when you go to your profile OR click on the link in your mini-priofile in posts to the left underneath your avatar where it says "Achievements"

RENEGADE SITE CLEAN-UP

As reported on our facebook page,our Renegade faction's mini-site has had a bit of a tody up. (After the entrance page):

Three minor banner updates.

Dear members,

There have been three very minor updates on three banners on three different themes, each adding a little more branding (Renegade logo on the left, mini-bars with the "Till All Are Renegades" text and so on. The three themes with banner updates are:

• Rodimus Prime
• Transformers Prime
• Latyrx7

here is an example of the TF Prime one that was re-done from scratch since I lost my original template I made last year from the PC crash. It also includes more banded (Actual tf prime show text) for our own title text and I decided not to renow the pinky/purple lightening/border.

With the Rodimus Prime banner I also did this with the TFTM 86' text from the movie poster and used that for our title text for that banner as a little love letter nod to the 1986 movie, the full size looks reaaaallly nice!:



i might continue to look at some more and see if they need doing, more urgent ones would take priority.

Minor theme updates.

Dear members,

Slight modification of the two G1 themes. With my recent G1 tech specs in the art section, I've just applied the same applications to the old backgrounds of these themes.

Both are also now Hi-res PNGs that take just 6 seconds to load whereas it would've taken 29 a a medium JPEG image.

Transformers the movie - 86'!! Month

Dear members,

To celebrate the original animated movie turning 35 recently, we're dedicating a whole month to the movie with a special one-off themed board, to celebrate and remember everything and everything that is the original movie! Favourite moments, favourite song from the soundtrack, did you like the new characters or not and what where your first impresions of them - and Unicron??

Small Housekeeping stuff

Dear members,

Having a bit of an autumn clear -out. The Cybertron Central sub-boards have been merged into the general "Cybertron Central" board mold, so that there are less sub-boards in that one board. Likewise the 4 for 4 and Spotlight Archive have also been dissolved into the greater "The Core" sub-board.

In the now merged general "Cybertron Central" board, which also includes contents from the former TF Gaming sub-board"; threads have been trimmed back to no later than 2020 to keep the board tight, all other topics have moved to "The Core" where they can still be discussed if they take your fancy.

Addendum

Dear members,

As to the last update, the "TF Generation Gaming" has been merged into the general broader "Cybertron Central". This is because of the low activity on the message board on the whole, there just is not just enough justification to keep it. TF gaming can still be discussed in the greater "Cybertron Central" coving cartoons, comic, movies and such.

This does mean however, that I need to fill a gap in that section. So, for the first time in, many, many years, the old separate toy forum has finally been restored and resusitated from the past including moving many old topics back from ye old past. I will be trying to make as many new threads in there to help try and re-juvinate/jump-start this message board. We haven't seen this board on the main for a long time so it's a nod and a big welcome back to the toy forum!

This forum needs re-juvinating and re-invigurating, and the only way forward is to make these descisions in the best interests of the message board if we are to pull in new members with the increasing amount of old members not having the time anymore. Theya re always welcome back, so let's give them something to comeback to should they ever want to return or visit.

MINOR FORUM RE-ADJUSTMENT

Dear members,

With the 20th anniversary coming up at the end of August, a small adjustment has been made to the layout of the forums ahead of the bigger stuff on our anniversary.

So please note, the old RENEGADE forums have been separated into their own section again, like the old days. This means a dlighly bigger middle section that incorporates the two artistic forums :- Vector Sigma, out custom character forum and the TF Arts And Literature forum for fan-fics and fan-art. Capping that off at the bottom are the trial Hasbro and Other Robos forums.

The general forum The Sharkticon Pit, has also been moved up to the upper top section underneath our general support forum. Any issues, question or suggestions reguarding these changes can be made below as usual of course.

Shout-Box back to original location

Just a quickie,

With the Roleplay Archive returning to the top menu and the onset of out20th anniversary, the shoutbox has returned to it's original location. That menu bar was getting a bit crowded.

It's still doing that wierd thing where the "collapse button" is out of place (Currently underneath the TTF initials of the section gradient bar in my browser), but there's still not much I can do about it right now. I will of course work to see if I can fix it but I don't think the plugin itself is being updated any more.

EDIT: I've fixed it! Sorta? What I've done though is essentially moved it above the info box by creating a category and board for it, and it alone. However, in the board name I've linked to the custom page so it automatically re-directs there and thus still doesn't have to be in the top menu.
