About This Message Board

Total Transformers Message Board is a long-running fan forum to discuss your favorite Transformer cartoons, toys, comics and movies - the original animated movie and three Michael bay films. The message board, now in it's ninth year, welcomes for new fans of the Transformers franchise and old fans, no matter when you started taking an interest.

With an age range from between 13 years, the forum's starting age, (You must be 13 and over to join) to the 50's and 60's, we are primarily a discussion forum but have a great roleplay and interactive stories section as well. We are heavily interested in the fandom and committed with keeping our forum active for users. On most Fridays we have an official chat night which can be found by going to the "Chat" section at our main website for the message board - www.totaltfs.com

It is also home to The Renegades.Who you say?The Renegades are our fictional faction that started up at another Transformers RPG forum, Ex-Autobots who were framed by a clone of Optimus Prime for war crimes and decided to take the war into our own hands seeking Justice. Started on August 26th 2002, with me being still a very n00by admin, Total Transformers first began, At that time our old URL being: tfarmarda.proboards9.com. The original idea was to call this place Iacon Hub/or Iacon City, but I thought that was trying to be too original. Six months later I used the address above just using the latest series as the url. (Even though I misspelled it with an extra r). I frequented many TF forums at that time and thanks to one, The Axalon, met a great bunch of people who ended up coming over in hoards! (Thanks Moffman!)

In our first years weput our trust in a member, ravage18 to create our first roleplay rules, so we could have own own RP like the board the Renegades (Our third fictional faction) originated from. Over time these have been developed strongly to be unique to us by our long serving member, Jazz. Over the years Total Transformers has gone from strength to strength, some members move on, others join with a whole new generation each year through many different age ranges. We've a deep, long and rich roleplay history under our belt. Introduced things unique like out Character Development forum where you can create your own characters and Interactive Stories section, which is like a RP with less rules. As we approach our 10th year, one thing has remained constant, the members, of which have made the forum.

At this time we are still probably the longest running Transformers board on ProBoards.

Due to a lack of input about it's direction, Total Transformers 4 for 4 has been on hiatus for a while. It's time to return commitment. So the new format now sees a change to Wednesday's Vs topics (Don't let that stop you making your own though if you want!), as it's been harder and harder to come up with those topics.

The format will still remain the same, with one topic a week on a different day each week, giving me plenty of thinking time about what I want to post. The new format will be as follows:

• Monday (Week#1): General TF Discussion/Debate
  
• Tuesday (Week#2): Cartoon based Discussion
  
• Wednesday (Week#3): SPOTLIGHT - Bringing it back old school with a different TF character to talk about each week.
  
• And of course Onix's video review each Thursday, dependent on Onix's time & schedule.
  

We hope you like the slightly revised format, as we continue to try and bring a bit more life back to the forums after the natural quietness over Christmas.

For a little while the media forums - Fan-fics, Art and Character Development, have been reverted into their own section. I feel stuff in there just wasn't getting seen being hidden away as sub-boards, and I've a feeling I'm not the only one. Especially our once rich Character Development forum has become a shadow if it's former self.

It it's preffered this way, it'll be kept, sbut we'll see how it goes. It does leave the TF forums down to just three though so what could go in it's place? I've been looking around other TF boards and seeing what other boards are current:

• TF News Board - - Latest Tf news - toys, shows, evrything. I think we tried this once before. negative: I can see it just being a forum of un-replied topics.
  
• Movie forum - Movie it out (see what I did there? ) I don't think there is enough use for this though.
  
• Seasonal forum - This is an insipred idea, a forum on rota on what's big at the moment, maybe games (Fall of Cybertron), maybe a show: Transformers Prime, rotate it every now and then? (Or just re-instate the TF games forum)
  
• G1 Caption Contest - I said I'd never do it again because interest always dies with it, and yet whenever mention there's always a want for it. Maybe if I solely run it and make it just G1? (Only series I have at home)
  
• Other - Suggestions?

Saturday 12th may 2012

As you may have noticed the top of the forum - the menu has changed again, back to default. No cutom table for menu links. Although this means no extra links for chat & website and such losing those, there's an additional code to check PM's.

The reason I've chosen to go back to a more default setting is so that each skin can have it's own banner! Yes, it looks like there will be multiple skins again after all. For a while I was going to ditch all of them for the default but this morning I was inspired by something I saw. It's because of that, there is a brand new skin coming, and that these changes have been implimented. Also by keeping the menu and simple text I don't have to worry about extra menu buttons for each skin.

So yeah, brand new skin on the way, the old skins will finally return(!). Suffice to say if I can find a way to return those extra links (Website, chat forum rules etc) I will, an idea is already formulating...

It's not too much of a big deal, but there's a slight revision, albeit, reversion back to "Total Transformers Message Board" omitting the "Roleplay & Discussion" bit. The reason for this is, although the roleplay is a big part of TTF, it has been moved under the main TF discussion category for quite some time as that is the main focus, and always has been.

Although the 4 for 4 idea became a bit luke-warm, hence it being halted for a long while, I do want to make this forum more appealing for all Transformers fans, not just for it's roleplay. I genuinelly believe we have an excellent RP system in place, however I want to appeal to the most broadest spectrum. Especially with reguards to our upcoming 10th anniversary. We have been and always have been a fan-forum to the franchise, we just happen to have a roleplay section that has proved to be very popular (Let alone sucessful over the years ). It's more that that however, first and foremost we are a community in the fandom. That's what I believe keeps bringing people back here right? The community and the close friendships forged here?

Therefore in the lead up to our anniversary, you may notice slight changes, omitting this section of the forum name, but mostly it's likely you won't as the changes will be so small.

After an initial trial period, the custom toys forum, has been removed and the threads themselves moved to the Toy Cupboard forum. It was a nice trial period to test the water, but I do not think it will be beneficial in the end.

In it's place is the new TF gaming forum, restoring an old idea, which is beneficial right now as TF gaming since the movie games and War For Cybertron had now shot through the roof, with Fall Of Cybertron now on general release and MMO's as well. All threads old and new have been moved there so please feel free to take full advantage of the forum!

Dear Members,

At present I am still continuing to upgrade the different skins on this message board since the upgrade to ProBoards V5 software. At this time I have been working on the Renegade TFs skin, Sexi Sci_Fi, Blue Royale, Hot Rod, Omega(problematic) and V1 Original skin. "Blue Terminator" hass been taken offline as it's too similar with The Blue Royale skin.

It also takes longer since converting since V5 as there are far, far more things to customise with just basic colours to match each existing skin. If you've got any questions or concerns on the skins or find something that really needs fixing urgently, please let me know.

Thanks, as the Decepticons skin- just black and purple it was alright; but a bit plain. When I got the idea to add yellow to the mix and make it an Insecticon skin, then it really started popping!

Return of the smilies..

Dear Members

The extra smilies are now located in the information table at the top, where it says "Welcome", "ProBoards V5" Forum Rules" etc. With Proboards V5, the old tables & html tables that used to contain links to the smilies no longer work. At the moment this is a temporary stop gap, until I find a better way. Would I would like very much, is a plugin in the reply box; a drop-down menu like the "Font Face" and "Font Size", except each choice linking to the various smilies thread. I'm not sure if this is even possible, and may request a plugin to be made. What do you think?

Ideally I want them to be more accessible as in actually in the reply box or at least linking to them via the reply box. If you use them however, don't forget to open the links in a new tab! I took the opportunity of removing some threads that didn't have any actual smilies - like the more recent years - Animated, as well as the ye old Universe ones which is also empty. As well as this I fixed a couple of errors on some for some smilies that weren't showing as well as making sure all the aforementioned sub-headings for the info table were visable in every skin by making sure the colour picked was right to make them visible. There was one smiliey code I liked however it adds each smiley individually - and given the large amount we have, that'd be one hell of a drop down list! I could however use this for personal smilies you'd use often, but there'd be a limit per user because of the size of the drop- downlist. If you would like this, just let me know.

Summer Of Fun!

Dear Members

We're kicking back, relaxing and having fun! To kick start the summer, the old "Fun & Games" forum is being brought back for the summer (Possibly permanently.) The forum will be a sub-forum in the Cybertron Central forum, and I myself shall be starting a number of new topics to bring back the fun factor to Total Transformers! Hope to see some of you in there too!

User Rank Error

Small one,

Users with the "Flyer" rank might have thought they were infected with our little infestation thing going on when they weren't. As a result the member group "Flyer" has been changed from a Pink star - that the infected group is used for, to a Magenta star to avoid any confusion.
