The newcomer laughed quietly, removed the grenade from Nexus's mouth and pushed him foward, sending him spawling. "I apologize for my... less than amiable entrance. I could not help hearing your friend here and giving his 'lightning reflexes' a push. Not as up to scratch as he thinks, mabye. Please allow me to introduce myself- I am Highstacker, your guide. I am here by order of a higher authority, who wishes your presence for a meeting of agressive units. I am to ensure you make it through the city. I know most of your names- I have been listening to your conversation for a while now." He grinned, and, to show good intention, he removed both his smoke and ordinary grenades from his person and lay them on the ground. Nexus, meanwhile, had sat himself up, and was opening and shutting is mouth like some kind of goldfish. It was inconceivable that this newcomer had managed to sneak up on him... wasn't it?

Two sides of Wormhole emerged that moment. One of the sides enjoyed Nexus being put into his place while the other one felt bad for him. It didn't really phase him though even if Nexus was injured - whether or not he would voice that in the future was questionable. Getting up from his position, he stood upright and tried to work out most of his joints. "Highstacker, eh? Well then, lead the way. We're all quite frozen and wishing to get out of here as soon as possible."

[glow=red,2,]'Hold on my fellow Autobots. Let us not be so hasty in our decision.'[/glow] Perceptor hadn't taken his gun away from Highstacker.
[glow=red,2,]'You claim knowledge of us and that you have been listening to our conversation for quite some time. Therefore you could have learn of our mission and our identities during that time. More importantly, you could have come to the conclusion that most of us in the group don't care very much for Nexus' attitude and that we would enjoy seeing him humiliated. Thus gaining our appreciation and perhaps even our trust. Nexus' personality or character makes no difference to me as I know where his loyalties lay. As for you, it shall take more then disarming yourself to win over my trust. More credentials are needed, as well, one of my colleagues will have to double check for any concealed weapons that you could be hiding on your person.'[/glow]

Torque relaxing slightly when the newcomer introduced himself. He lowered his Ion Disrupter, but kept it pointed at Highstacker. He didn't really trust the way he chose to introduce himself.
"Perceptor's right. Sure you could be who you say you are, but there are surely better ways to introduce yourself. Jumping in on a group of highly strung bots is one way to get yourself slagged."
Torque put his Disrupter in his left hand and transformed his right hand into a scanning device.
"Please, step forward. I'll do the search."

Highstacker scowled as Nexus grabbed him roughly from behind and held his gun to the guides head. He muttered embarrassedly. "I never lie. As equally as you need my credentials, I needed to be sure that you were genuine Autobots. How was I to know? Besides, you no doubt needed a little shock to get your skid-plates back in gear. I've got you back on your toes- which, in the current situation, is the best place to be." Nexus struck Highstacker over the head with his gun. "Silence, scum! Anyone who attacks his own comrades is clearly defective- and that is precisely what you did. Shut your mouth! Let yourself be examined!" The guide gritted his teeth. "I'll do your examination- if only to show you I'm the real deal." He stepped forward.

Torque stepped forward and started scanning Highstacker for concealed weapons. He wondered if he should point out the irony of Nexus's words. He decided not to. Torque probably didn't have enough energon to stay in his Ghost form long enough for Nexus to get tired.
Torque finished the scan. He transformed his hand back into a hand and shouldered his Disruptor. Torque took a step back from Highstacker.
"He's clean. No hidden weapons."
Torque put away his Disruptor and took up his sniper rifle, aiming back out into the canyon. He then decided that would be pointless as they hadn't spotted Highstacker approaching them.

[glow=red,2,]'Mind you Nexus, your actions, and not surprisingly so, have just placed you in the realm of hypocritical exemplifications, incase you hadn't noticed.'[/glow]
Perceptor decided that the newcomers logic was sound. He just hoped he was truly who he claimed to be so that he and the group could move on from his cold waste land.[glow=red,2,]'Now then. Since everything seems to be in order, please forgive us Highstacker. Especially Nexus, he really can't help himself. And if were through with these rather haphazard introductions, Highstacker if you'd be so good as to lead the way, we can be finished with this ghastly locations and proceed to warmer grounds.' Nexus glared at Perceptor. "The only person here who cannot help themselves is you, for making your statements incomprehensible. This foppish tendency is clearly a sign of weakness and comtemptuality." Reluctantly, he released his grip on Highstacker. The messenger stood, brushed himself off, then beckoned to the group. "We slide down the slopes. The ice will have thawed a little by now, and once we clear these foothills, it's a clear run to AA-233. From the outskirts, we can make our way to the meeting place over the rooftops." He walked silently to wards the edge of the hill.

Wormhole took all of this information in. While they questioned Highstacker, he went on his first impression of Highstacker and guessed he was the guide, which to no surprise he was. Listening in on the words, he silently followed the guide to the edge and peered over it. "So, what, you expect us to slide down it? I'm not much for suicides." He looked back to the other Autobots and then back down the edge. He grunted, and then crouched down to the edge, "nevermind... guess we have too. You first, Highstacker."

Perceptor decided to ignore Nexus, he knew he wouldn't get very far with him and stood next to Wormhole. [glow=red,2,]'Nonsense my good Autobot. The angle at this elevated position should provide a promising trajectory as we descend downward. I believe we shall be quite safe.' [/glow] Perceptor finished by placing a reassuring hand on Wormhole's shoulder.

Torque moved over to his fellow Autobots and looked down the slope. He spotted a couple of nasty looking rocks about midway down, but nothing too serious.
"Wormhole, you got nothing to worry about. Surely you could just fly down there. The rest of us gotta slide. Actually looks kinda fun."
It was moments like this Torque loved the upgrade he had to his Alt mode. He'd make it down to the bottom without so much as a scratch on him, though he'd probably incredibly shaken. Torque waited for the others to make their move.

Perceptor turned about to find Smokescreen. [glow=red,2,]'And don't you worry old friend. As soon as we are all out of this harsh climate and in a warmer place, I'll tend to your damage vocal box. This cold weather has already wrecked havoc with most of our simplest functions and has not allowed for the most basic of repairs to be fulfilled. We best make hast before anything worse can occur.'[/glow]

Smokescreen made the most out of Perceptor's kind words. the one thing you could always rely on him to do was cheer the mood, and right now he couldn't even managed that.
Ever since they had started on this adventure he had felt incapacitated by his wounds, especially with Nexus' continuous rantings and cockiness, of which, even he was getting sick and tired of. Without the ability to ask who was going first, Smokescreen offered his arm forward for Perceptor hoping that, since he was so sure about the descent he would go first, or at least Highstacker would.
He wasn't sure quite what he made of the newcomer yet, but he was obviously smart, but still, was that really enough to trust him?

Torque once again looked down the slope. He sensed the others were a little aprehensive about making the decent. He stowed his weapons and spoke up.
"I'll go first. I'll make the decent in my vehicle mode and clear the way for the rest of you."
Before anyone could object, Torque took a running jump and leapt down the side of the slope. He performed a somersault in mid air as he transformed. In his vehicle mode, he hit the slope hard and bounced. When all four wheels were finally on the ground, he gunned his engine and took off down the icy slope.
Torque hit a slight dip and was bounced yet again, this time when he landed, he fishtailed, gently at first, but eventually getting wilder. He had completely lost control. The fishtail turned into a full on spin. Torque fought to regain control, but it wasn't happening. He hit a rock side on and was sent tumbling down the slope.
Torque bounced and crashed the rest of the way down the slope. He eventually reached the bottom, skidding to a halt on the roof of his vehicle mode. He lay there, upside down and unmoving.
Torque's systems rebooted. He sluggishly transformed back into his robot mode. He remained sitting on the icy floor and held his head with one hand and groaned.
"Oh my aching processor."
This wasn't the first time he'd been grateful for the upgrade to his vehicle mode. Torque looked back up the slope. It seemed alot further going up than it did looking down. He waved to the rest of the Autobots, signalling them down. Torque rose unsteadily to his feet and pulled out his Distruptor. He wanted to be ready in case there was anything else down there.

With his arms folded and a hand resting on his chin, Perceptor merely commented, [glow=red,2,]'I suspect that was suppose to end better. Well then, shall we?'[/glow] Perceptor began to descend down the slope as carefully as possible.
