I had to share this with you guys. This game is like playing with Lego's and is highly addictive. Its got low graphics, but the paid for version generates a world that supposedly exceeds the surface area of the Earth. The browser based version generates a much smaller world and give you unlimited resources but it is a good way to test it out. In the paid version you must gather or mine your resources, which can be used to build whatever you wish or crafted into weapons, decorations, and other useful materials. When night falls, the monsters come out. You can play without them though but it is fun building to ward them off. Anyways, give it a try.
note that it is in Alpha stage right now, meaning its not even hit the pre-release beta. It is built by, I believe, one man and he sells it right now to fund the game. If you buy it during the Alpha you get it half off, and all subsequent updates will be your for free. When the beta hits it will go up in price but still be cheaper than if you wait for the release. Also note, release my never actually happen (though I doubt it as it has a very LARGE installment already.)
A friend introduced me to it over the weekend and I ended up playing it for most of Sunday! (Yes that is what I was doing Sunday!). It's too addictive. I think it's great, as my friend said to me - the only limit is your imagination! As I've always liked building type games, I love how everything had to be natural, there's no budget or complications, you want a tool - you have to make it.
Right now I am experiencing some problems with it though. At first it kept crashing into a black window and now it just turns my monitor into sleep mode. It's not like it's graphics heavy, it's very very basic, Might And Magic (On the SNES) type graphics.
I love the snow lands too. I has this one land which had very, very VERY high mountains. my little hut, well not so little was literally in the fog banks ad skies of the clouds! The only problem was it was a very big journey down and back up - so I new what I had to do - carve a stairway all the way down! It's a stair way that actually cuts into and underneath the ground and is massively long! It's the stairway.... TO HELL!
First up, the original building I ever built. Was first dirt, built atop a floating piece of land and a tree. Now replaced with stone.
Next up, the project I have been working on and finished today, my Castle!
This is the Manor inside the walls
Last one it the first floor. other floors are just finished and pretty barren. Haven't reall decorated anything. A couple pictures of the views out of my balconies.
And this is the mine I got all of the stone from to make the castle. In the second pic you can see the blue fuzzy-ness in the middle, well that hall goes out far enough that I hit the draw distance, and mine is on max draw.
I started making a for but saved it, knowing I was very low on electric, then a few minutes later got up and accidently kneed the reset button on my PC tower. When I restarted Minecraft it was completely gone. I've got a new project however, a mountain with lava out of one side, then around the other side of the mountain a waterfall. I've built a room around the lava fall with a glass front and an interlinking corridor through the mountain to the waterfall where there's a small viewing room.
Following the new Halloween update, some udpated pics with the new ne biome worlds.
To the old fort:
Home (Now with roof, not that I like the current one):
I finished that cobble super bridge, it has one row of protective sides (also cobble) with a second row of a block placed every other space like a fort-esq styling bridge. It's at least 2 - 3 times the length of the wooden bridge, stretching to a mountain far away in the distance which has a waterfall coming out of it.
Home 2 (Work in progress):
Originally the front was lava, but if you look at where the top of the waterfall is and the gap there, I was trying to make a new room there. Then disaster struck. The lava flow became to wide and engulfed my front door, and although it survived, I couldn't get into it through the lava. I had to cobble-stone block it off to stop the flow of lava and eventually thin the stream, eventually mining the cobble away. I had to restore the walk up to the front door, all the glass around the front door is a new idea as are the picket fences. Although it was a disaster, I got through it and it ended up being an excuse to re-landcape that entrance up to the door and down to the new stream.
I abandoned that new room idea.
Back of the mountain and the other waterfall, recently re-landscaped tonight with flowers, a bridge and the waterfall now goes into the ocean, it didn't before. The wooded steps are also a recent addition tonight.
Those dirt steps to the left and the fort-like extention lead to here:
Growing trees in there. By the tree (top middle) you can see glass, another small room there that leads all the way down back into the main area,
Didn't realize the update was already out. Must go have a look. I've added a farm house and field, a road to the ocean and a lighthouse which I'm going to also turn into a dock, maybe even like a fishing village on the water, and I've made a beacon tower, the first of many I plan to build around my Island so I can tell it is mine from a far, and they will guide me back to my castle.
He definitely upped the mob count. Good lord. I went to play this morning and got blown to hell by a creeper while trying to kill a zombie and a skeleton. Lost all my items in my inventory (mostly building supplies, but also like 100 torches, my bow, a small amount of arrows, and a few tools). It really ruined my morning as now I have to gather completely new supplies to build my fishing village...
I really hate the new mob spawning. Too many creepers (the explody guys). I've almost been killed several times now, and went through a fresh set of armor the day after making it (game time). They spawn in even the lightest shadows. My big excavation that I use for construction materials in now plagued by mob spawning. I tried upping the torches to see if it will help. Had a run in with a pair of zombies and a spider down there and my sword broke. I had to run backwards punching the spider to knock it back to try and escape. I did, but lost several hearts and significant levels on my armor.
If they spawned more Zombies and Skeletons, less spiders and even less Creepers it wouldn't be so bad. Zombies and Skeletons go away when the sun comes up but Creepers and Spiders hang around forever, sometimes till midday.
Another gripe is just how much clay it takes to make bricks. you need 4 slots of 64 clay to make one slot of 64 brick blocks. At least make 4 bricks build 2 brick blocks. It is insanity. I want to rebuild my Lighthouse with bricks but I'm having to rove the world to find enough clay.
Boats need to be more durable.

Hoist: Hmm, I'm guessing nothing to do with Beast Wars or Armada, so either a sequel based in or around the first renegade rp trilogy or War For Cybertron? I'm guessing War For Cybertron!
